Hey I love the mod, just wondering if there are any plans for multiplayer being fixed? Currently whenever I try to do multiplayer I load into the world but my character bugs out and I can't move or access any menu

I sincerely hope that my horrible, poorly thought out string of comments a week ago didn't put you off from working on this further. I've still been feeling guilty about it, and have been kind of avoiding what would otherwise be hype orbiting out of shame. I'm very curious to poke around in the codebase, though! I (extremely obviously) may not be smart enough to know what most of it constitutes, but there might be a couple of very small things I can try to compare with Example Mod to see if I can learn anything, or -in an extreme best case scenario-, make some kind of tiny low-ambition fork with some little thing or other added.

@pascal A literal critical hit, yeah; however I didn't actually know about the option to make it play on every direct, my bad! I should have looked closer in the options

@Kaleina: There actually already is a setting in the mod configuration to make the effect always play when hitting a direct. Or did you mean when a literal critical hit happens? (the ones in vanilla Terraria where double damage happens sometimes)

is it possible to make it so that blasters and chargers also play the direct sfx on crit? having it only play on kill is a shame because a part of the dopamine rush from playing blasters/chargers are hitting the directs and hearing that meaty direct hit sfx
same goes for wiper charged combo, stringer directs and any other weapons that might use the same direct hit sfx

I hope I didn't come across as harsh in my responses. I just wrote an entire paragraph to clarify how AI is and isn't involved in the year the mod has been developed, but I've exceeded Steam's 1000 character limit. TL;DR: To say AI 100% went unused is not the full truth. If after reading the pastebin this still bothers you, that's fair. In today's age I just think it's just smarter to let AI do tedious tasks no one wants to do. It was however not used to magically generate features, as I think the creative process is the most fun part in all this. I also think its concerning how people grow more dependant on AI, so developing systems and features manually is still very important to me.

All that said, I'm genuinely glad you enjoy the mod. Again, it's been a year of, mostly manual, labor (out of love!).

If I'm wrong on that and there is any additional way for me to make it up to you, please let me know. I'm a complete moron and said the most hurtful possible things off the bat out of the dumbest possible conclusion jumping, but. . .I really just wish I could help. This mod has a perfect artstyle and an insane amount of content that all works perfectly, and I. . .I did the complete and utter opposite of that, and I don't even know how to process it. "Sorry" isn't good enough, and I wish I could reach for something that is.

. . .I sincerely apologize, to the extent that anyone can believe that on the internet. I wanted to help, but since I'm a complete idiot, I just ended up assuming terrible things that weren't in play (carry-over from the Minecraft and Morrowind modding communities, where much less base knowledge is needed and certain tools are regrettably in use) and trying to compile information I had no grip on. The really unfortunate part is, I only got that reactionary and passionate because I DO enjoy what I've tried so far. I assumed I was wrong in the back of my mind even in that statement, but I got caught up in myself due to assumptions and past experiences. All I've accomplished here is harm, and I really wish there was a way to undo that. Of course, there isn't. All I have is to delete what I initially said, apologize, and try to do better in the future.

Adding on to a previous comment @Coricus:

Regarding the percentages for the modifiers: the game multiplies the original value with the modifier, then checks what the actual difference is and shows THAT as a percentage. Resulting values are rounded, so a +30% increase in code may result in something that varies slightly from that in-game, per weapon.

Also, please PLEASE do your research before blindly assuming something is AI generated. If you can't tell the difference, corporations have no reason to hire humans. Given the manual labor I've done for FREE (coding and spriting), this feels like you're just insulting my efforts.

I'm not expecting everyone to understand how programming works either, but if you don't know what you're talking about, just don't. This isn't helping anyone.

@Coricus: What? Please do not spread misinformation. I'm using C#'s Reflection system to get information about the code during runtime. That allows me to read the items' stats and insert that data in pre-made HTML templates. There is no AI involved.

Any chance of some hair options being added as hair options or vanity items other then eight's vanity set? Perhaps making them sync to your colour in config or an option for that (although it would be pretty easy to just change Ur char hair colour to match)

This might be caused by another mod I have installed, but I instinctively try to dodge attacks in squid form and am constantly reminded of how the hitbox is the same size in both forms. Would be pretty neat if you could make the hitbox smaller in squid form, though i can see issues with collisions happening.

havent been able to figure this out, and wiki doesnt give info for how to get items that arent dropped by enemies or crafted (or its just the wiki being incomplete) so if i may ask, how do you get the last-ditch effort emblem?

Yea, I did, and that certainly helped, but it was the purified slosher that lead me to victory cause I didn't have to worry about refilling my ink tank all the time. I know that's one thing I need to get better with, but it's difficult to want to do that since I usually build single platform arenas since that's usually enough for me in my play throughs. Oh yea, one Idea that might help with progression potentially that I thought of while typing this comment before I go to bed, is maybe have Junior versions of all the sub weapons that can be crafted before eater of worlds. Cause the splat bombs are too slow for boss fights, and the burst bomb was great with my set up for fighting eater.

@Gashadokoro: I don't think it's just you, I've heard someone else say the early game is pretty tough due to few options. Cool that you figured out how to get the purified version though! That said, I need to think of how to balance things... Maybe I'll make the regular blaster or slosher available pre-EoW, but with slightly toned down stats.

Also, did you get an Order Emblem from the Eye of Cthulhu? It's not a guaranteed drop which may be stupid on my end. It powers up order gear to help bridge the gap a bit

Don't know if I'm just bad with this mod's combat, but it took me far too many attempts to kill eater of worlds. The only reason I won in the end was because I somehow found the shimmer and turned the order slosher to the purified version. That gave me just enough power to kill the eater of worlds. I don't really have a suggestion to help with that though other than to say add more weapon options for before that stage of the game?

Other than that, I'm loving this mod! It feels super unique!

yeah for the ink thing, maybe join some discords with other modders like the tmodloader server discord, and ask around for what you feel you could do on a technical level.

terraria overhaul has a blood system that can stick to blocks, and would probably work for ink too, its definitely possible, but yeah idk much coding and also swimming through it and all that would be very interesting!

also not sure if this is a bug or not, but holding down S makes it so i can't jump, not sure if its a bug or another mod i have(fast fall)

Will the update to make graphics configurations come soon? I hope there's configurations for disabling the shiny effects that appear every time an enemy drops a Canned Special.
