For anyone else trying this in 1.6 -- I added the 1.6 tag to the about file, and then I had a load error about a missing WorkDef, which i resolved by removing the empty <WorkDisables> Node on line 19 of Pattys_Backstories.xml. with those two changes, it is otherwise working well so far.

This mod is probably fine and just needs a 1.6 tag. Don't think 1.6 touched backgrounds to make changes.

@IAMPattyJack I have my own personal background mod that I need to update from the 1.4 skill gains tag to the 1.5 skill gains tag. How did you go about changing this in an automated fashion, or did you just do it manually for ever single background?
Eg: 1.4 = <li><key>Shooting</key><value>1</value></li>
1.5 = <Shooting>1</Shooting>

If you go to Betas in the game's properties on Steam, you can rollback to 1.4 and test/develop your mod there. Then you can just put the 1.4 files in the 1.4 folder and the 1.5 ones in 1.5.

Your two main things are the way skillgains is written was changed and <baseDesc> was changed to <description>.
None of your backstories have pawns holding items so you don't have to change anything there.

Really just look at how 1.4 did BackstoryDefs and go from there. Look at the rimworld wiki for how to do versioned folders as you will need that as well.

I've now updated the mod to only list as being compatible with RimWorld 1.5.

I will work on getting it compatible with earlier versions, but not entirely sure how to do so. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated!
