To my knowledge, there isn't a way to rotate planets. However, you can change the sun's axis of rotation to be around the equator if you want.

How to Fix Sun Angle in Save Files:
Edit Sandbox.sbc
<BaseSunDirection x="0" y="0" z="1" />
<SunDirectionNormalized x="0" y="0" z="1" />

Edit SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbs
<SunAzimuth>3.14159274</SunAzimuth>
<SunElevation>0</SunElevation>

Delete SANDBOX_0_0_0_.sbsB5

Quick question. How does your tool handle the planet orientation? This is an issue with the default, built-in tool where you cannot control rotation at all, and if the planet is designed with ice poles and warmer biomes, it can be a bit immersion breaking with sun rotation. Have you thought about some optional params to handle this?
GigaCars Mar 17 @ 12:55pm
i was asking if i could use the coords used to place GPS coordinates as them, not whatever you thought, oops lol

well it is placed near where i want it to be anyways so
GigaCars Mar 17 @ 11:41am
ah i see, thanks
Echthros  [author] Mar 17 @ 2:03am
*diameter, not radius
Echthros  [author] Mar 17 @ 1:54am
Use the format: "/CSP.Titan.500000.1000000.2000000.0" to set the radius and coords exactly. Just type the X, Y, and Z values as the last 3 params.
GigaCars Mar 16 @ 4:36pm
can i add GPS coords to place a planet at?

or is that not available
Zyrack BloodThorn Feb 28 @ 6:24pm
Much like Ashes Vargrand I have an empty world loaded with no mods I type the command and get the verification stating planet has spawned but nothing appears, I have waited over 5 minutes in case it took some time and have even restarted several times but still no planet. What am I doing wrong and or what did you do to get it working Ashes Vargrand?
Anno Jan 24 @ 6:02pm
Okay never mind it just didnt want to work that day and now it works fine
Anno Jan 23 @ 9:02am
I Can't get it to work at all. i've tried both creative and survival in single player and it wont spawn... Command:/CSP.EarthLike.500000.817643.516823.783133

Whats wrong with it and why wont it spawn?
Ashes Vargrand Nov 9, 2024 @ 7:08am
hm have a green line that the planet is spawned, but nothing happens
Devilers Oct 8, 2024 @ 4:27pm
At least some public options to do this instead of cringing admin menu) Thx)
Idk why no one still made a mod that automatically spawns planets if they are not spawned after loading save. Config could be made after initial save and manual edited, but it still would be 10000% easier to manage many planets at once :D

The engine technically can support planets that big, but a lot of things with the voxels may behave strangely. I generally wouldn't recommend making them any bigger than around 500km diameter. It isn't a hardware issue, it's an engine issue.
Learn2Code Oct 7, 2024 @ 2:19am
So I had another look on a clean world and it occurs on reloads for planets above 1,100km in diameter after any mining is done, no other mods installed. I did have my graphics set to high, though changing to low doesn't change the results.

I'm running with 32GB RAM, i7-6700K CPU and a GTX1080 graphics card so I doubt it's a hardware issue...
Learn2Code Oct 6, 2024 @ 6:39am
Hey, I like big rocks and I cannot lie, but I'm breaking the planet by mining. Once I've dug a smallish hole, 3/4 of the planet voxel disappears so I'm standing on a wedge (granted still a giant wedge). Initially I thought it was how SE renders voxel damage from a distance, but it persists if I teleport to the edge. Objects still spawn where the voxel should be (trees, rocks etc), but they float and players and grids fall through.

Have you noticed this bug before? I am playing with other mods but wanted to see if it has happened to anyone else.

I'm using planet size 500,000 (I think), will post tomorrow if I recreate it with only this mod running tomorrow.
Echthros  [author] Sep 17, 2024 @ 12:00pm
@XXAWESOMEENGINEER88XX That limit is hard-coded in the engine. There is nothing I can do to override it.

@Jim Jam Briskin Spawning planets only works when executed on the server, so the commands only work when running locally. You'll need to construct your world locally and then move it over to DS once it's finished.
XXAWESOMEENGINEER88XX Sep 17, 2024 @ 11:40am
@Echthros, will and or are you able to maybe get past 8 Mm planets? like make it able to go up to 10Mm or 20Mm
XXAWESOMEENGINEER88XX Sep 17, 2024 @ 11:39am
no i didnt, megameter or megametre, is an actual unit idiot @palps
Palpatine Sep 10, 2024 @ 6:22am
XXAWESOMEENGINEER88XX you made that up
Jim Jam Briskin Sep 4, 2024 @ 8:40am
Can't seem to get this to work on a dedicated server. I'll get a popup message saying whatever planet I tried to spawn was spawned, but they never are. Tried modded and vanilla planets to no difference. No errors pop up in the dedicated server console either.
XXAWESOMEENGINEER88XX Aug 10, 2024 @ 2:16pm
1 mega meter is 1,000,000 meters for all the dumb#$$es out there
XXAWESOMEENGINEER88XX Aug 10, 2024 @ 2:16pm
the biggest planet you can make with this mod is 8Mm aka 8Megameter
TwinIndifferent Jun 19, 2024 @ 12:17pm
Somehow this messes up entirely planet spawn. Spawned in empty world a single ATA planet (Mercury) and it's entire surface is black unless you get to it's surface where it loads it.
Dulli Jun 16, 2024 @ 4:19am
the planets i generated dont have ore except rocks spawning above the surface, is that intended?
Echthros  [author] May 16, 2024 @ 11:14am
Nothing will happen to them. You can spawn more than one of the same planet. Entering that command will spawn another Pertam with radius 500km in the direction you are currently looking. You'll generally want to go into spectator mode and fly the camera over to about where you want the new planet before entering the code (if you aren't entering exact coords). If you enter it while on your current planet, it may spawn a bit closer than you'd want. Also, you can just delete any planet you spawn through the debug menu if you don't like where it is.
ZoolooS May 14, 2024 @ 3:31pm
Hello there.
I'm a new in planet spawn. So, what is best practice?
Say, I'm load my already some time played save. With Pertam or something else. Lay on sofa on my base on the surface. And run /CSP.Pertam.500000.
What will happen with current planet? What will happen with my character, my stuff and my bases? What will happen with GPS markers and already spawned NPC wreaks?
only1tiberious May 10, 2024 @ 8:30pm
not in this mod because Vrage 2 can't handle it, it's not build for things of that size but you can make a 1/10th
Sharps May 10, 2024 @ 7:09pm
Can I make an earth the size of actual earth?
bobblehead May 9, 2024 @ 2:42pm
Just getting into making my own systems to play in. Thank you for this tool. Sooooooo much easier ;-)
Boogaloo May 8, 2024 @ 6:14pm
Does this differ from worldgen in that after a save or two virtually all but a few chunks of a planet disappears or is that purely engine limitation.
Echthros  [author] May 8, 2024 @ 5:23pm
All this mod does is call the normal built-in planet spawn function. The only special things are that it allows for spawning larger and more precise than the normal planet spawner.
Armigus May 8, 2024 @ 5:16pm
Do the planets have more detailed information? Say you wanted a world with features or biomes from two or more worlds and wanted to create a custom planet to support both? Or a Hycean ocean super-earth? I think the devs are working on a procedural planet producer not too unlike that in No Man's Sky to tap into.
⎝⧹Greedynuf⧸⎠ May 8, 2024 @ 12:56pm
just spawn in a 1:1 scale earth and disintegrated my game  :steammocking:
Avin May 8, 2024 @ 11:58am
this mod makes my brain hurt its judt that good
Atomic Dash May 7, 2024 @ 1:54pm
So.., a 1:1 scale for the solar system becomes difficult because the game starts to stutter at 1,000,000 meters and a scale of 12.103.600 meters no longer works.
Ronin Planetary Industries May 7, 2024 @ 8:49am
@Kengored The only issue with going extra large on planets is the resolution when dealing with steep cliffs and mountains. There's a much higher probability of phasing through the jagged cliff-sides.
Kengored May 7, 2024 @ 7:53am
tbh i am tempted to just clear default star system and summon one giant custom planet, add water and survive on it (maybe with high G for a bit more challenge)
only1tiberious May 7, 2024 @ 6:42am
thanks a lot!, I didn't really trust all the plugins after they got taken off the workshop, I build gigantic ships so it's weird seeing them out of proportion with the planets.
Kengored May 7, 2024 @ 4:11am
at last, we can make a 1:1 recreation of the solar system
Sarekh May 7, 2024 @ 1:45am
Brilliant thing, thank you very much for that!
TheMorpheus May 7, 2024 @ 1:24am
At long last...

Big planets
Echthros  [author] May 6, 2024 @ 10:55pm
Yep
only1tiberious May 6, 2024 @ 9:45pm
finally? bigger planets once more?
Anubis May 5, 2024 @ 1:29pm
With how often I like to start new games and have my sole planet at origin, this is a time saver, thanks. Now if only keen would give us a way to save\load modpacks to spare me having to add and mess around with load order.
Palpatine May 2, 2024 @ 9:51pm
Well done.
Philwhore May 2, 2024 @ 7:13pm
thank you for everything you have done for this game!
