(for small ships to large ships/stations)
But... you can't do that
Nouvi Jan 25, 2024 @ 1:09pm
Tested large ship to large station, and that still seems to work fine, allowing for relatively easy transfer of oxygen/hydrogen from a production station. Not tested anything involving small grids though.
(If done from a large grid station, remember to convert back to a ship AFTER unmerging from station)
rryrryfraz Dec 18, 2023 @ 6:26pm
does this still work?
KENIFLER Oct 29, 2021 @ 9:00pm
when i merge ship... it blow
SilentWulf Aug 27, 2021 @ 8:59am
aluxesxd, making the comment; "This is a stupid mod." does nothing to help the situation and might make people think that you believe that your opinion is the only one that matters.

yes. you can get the some function using vanilla blocks.... that wasn't the point of the mod. This mod was to facilitate a functional aesthetic. To take the function of the two connectors and allow for something that looks aesthetically pleasing.

so instead of ragging on something you find dumb or don't like...just don't make a comment and move on. "verbalizing" something negative in the way you did doesn't help the situation...might make it worse. i.e, the modders saying "piss off" and quit modding SE.

Not working now
spacedout Sep 2, 2019 @ 7:46am
This mod does still work, i just tested it. however there are still problems with the small tubes but that's because of a problem with the base game not this mod.
SilentWulf Oct 10, 2017 @ 11:01am
Mount point on the small tube is broken.
SilentWulf Oct 10, 2017 @ 10:58am
@Devil....whats causeing the dmg is the merging of the 2 parts, and unless Keen Fine-tunes their collision meshs....not much can be done
J0K3R6397 Sep 12, 2017 @ 11:50pm
Since they actually do merge, why the hell are they called "Mergeless"?
BLACK۞EYE Apr 6, 2017 @ 5:30pm
Is anyone still updating this mod? Unfortunately now it is spontaneusly breaks block-to-block item transfer (even without using conveyor between).
SkyTempo Sep 21, 2016 @ 10:41am
You can do this with connectors. When you use a connector and a merge block together, than you will get a connection, even though it is the same grid.
Krahazik Sep 12, 2016 @ 1:43pm
Connectors are usefull for vehicles docking to a larger ship or station to unload and what not. But this would be usefull for modular ships using merge blocks and such. Also in such situations, a connector add an extra item you have to turn on/off when docking/undocking with merge blocks.

Another potential use might be with a piston to creat a tube section that can be disconnected simply by retracting the piston and thus deactivating that line without dealing with turning a connector on/off as well.
Mr. Thomas Aug 25, 2016 @ 5:47am
@cybes @zanven And it is also easier when a ship is for the most of the time docked to a larger ship as in an engine necel/thug boat
Zanven Aug 20, 2016 @ 12:44am
@cybes well some people like me wish to use merge blocks to have swapable fronts to a ship, and for a small ship it would look ugly to have a big port on the front aswell when i simply want to hide a tiny tube underneith.

i.e welding and grinding ship being one ship with swapable fronts. or making a multi purpose frame.
Cybes Aug 1, 2016 @ 3:17pm
I'm not sure I understand... Isn't this exactly what connectors are for?
Clanner Jake May 1, 2016 @ 3:24am
i was going to use a grinder, welder and a projector. but this is much simpler...
Greisyn Nov 21, 2015 @ 2:58pm
Looks like someone is stealing your mod Darc

Nice mod! Can you please make the "Mergeless Conveyor Tube" usable for small ships like it is possible with the vanilla "Conveyor Tube"?
Kurtchekov  [author] Aug 27, 2015 @ 2:48pm
This mod uses the vanilla models provided by the game so, if the original merge block is DX11 ready, the same applies to this mod
Crazy Aug 23, 2015 @ 4:17am
Is this DX11 ready?
. Aug 2, 2015 @ 12:33pm
Same problem , donno how to de-attach my ship now, this mod seems a solution, ty!
CaptainC11 Jul 30, 2015 @ 8:40pm
I have been trying to run a conveyor through a merge block, but these should still be useful.
Kurtchekov  [author] May 28, 2015 @ 7:35pm
Orientation/Mount Points fixed for the "Mergeless Conveyor Tube Small" block. Lemme know if there's any other block that still can't be mounted to your ship
DarcClan  [author] May 28, 2015 @ 7:20pm
Just updated the mod as per Kurtchekov's changes
҉ Dr Sausages ҉ May 17, 2015 @ 1:13am
small ships do work. i used this to create a modular ship that can be a grinder, drill, welder or attack ship. excellent mod here man.
zackd41pro Mar 30, 2015 @ 3:03pm
would love small ships to work
alex Mar 22, 2015 @ 12:07pm
This is great. I can confirm that you can use the large grid block to transfer oxygen between vents while docking. (Connectors can't do that yet).
Kham Mar 8, 2015 @ 1:12pm
Yeah orientation of the small versions seems to be borked.
Broron, The Moron Mar 6, 2015 @ 11:54am
the small tube doesn't work anymore.
I doesn't align right
TheHammersamatom Feb 19, 2015 @ 7:35pm
Sadly, the tubes don't seem to want to work, I added them to one of my smaller modular ships, however, I couldn't place them on any other tubes, they had to be next to any solid piece of hull, and instead of completeing the connection with the other tubes, they repusled and ripped my ship in half.

Is this an operator error, or is this an actual problem? XD
Officer SkidMark Jan 11, 2015 @ 7:06pm
@Alenn that is currently not possible. i have tried for my conveyor pack but it doesnt work we modders need multi block functions
Alenn G'Kar Nov 18, 2014 @ 4:51pm
Just want to ask If you gonna make merge block with conveyor in the middle? Cuz its kinda strange just clip that tubes together and it works :D I use small merge blocks and conventor but sometimes I just forget to off them in order and it explodes, thx.
Delebre Nov 5, 2014 @ 6:00am
Yeah, I saw that in the errors too. But figured you'd want to know. Also, just call me Bean :D
Thanks for the mod! We love it in our server :)
DarcClan  [author] Nov 5, 2014 @ 5:54am
Thanks for the heads up Space Engineer Bean, errors now fixed, seems I was just missing file ext's for the models and icons.

Dobakjang Oct 21, 2014 @ 6:19pm
small mergeless is too hard to navigate proper position, please fix this
Officer SkidMark Sep 26, 2014 @ 8:55pm
@Pez these provide another form to hook ships up. as well as ive had things blow up using connectors
Pez Sep 26, 2014 @ 8:38pm
You can always just use connector tubes and merge blocks in tandem with each other.
DarcClan  [author] Sep 26, 2014 @ 4:55am
NP Killer96, thanks for making the new model and textures for the block
Officer SkidMark Sep 25, 2014 @ 2:28pm
hey guys just wanted to let you know that the custom modeled "mergeless" or what i call them "NON-Mergeable" Conveyors are done and are up on my Conveyor Expansion [ModPack] i suggest checking them out, also darc thanks for the idea of using the 3x3x1 conveyor instead of the 3x3x3. a lot simplier. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=309057836
JCapt Sep 25, 2014 @ 11:03am
Nice!
Jab Sep 24, 2014 @ 9:32pm
I got around this using merge blocks and connectors on the same block layers where merging occurs. When your ship merges, the connectors automagically fully connect.
Nik -still u Sep 21, 2014 @ 8:04pm
@Darc Ah ok. Yeah I figured it was based on the mounting point. Cool.
DarcClan  [author] Sep 21, 2014 @ 7:52pm
@Niko-lus Thats correct, and thats part of the workaround, the pipes only have one side that mounts to another block, but the sides that aren't mounted won't merge. On that logic I'm also pretty sure since I've not been able to get it to happen, that it really doesn't matter which way the tube is faceing for it to not merge (backwards or fowards since you can't tell them apart anyway), at least the good thing is you only need to use them at points where they will connect when merged
Nik -still u Sep 21, 2014 @ 7:40pm
Just FYI, I'm having a hard time placing these (at least the small conveyor ones) onto other conveyor tubes, they always want to go on sideways.. You have to place them against another surface, next to the open space they go in. :/
Officer SkidMark Sep 21, 2014 @ 6:58pm
@Niko-lus tell me about. like darc said i am working on custom models for my conveyor expansion modpack. its funny that we both have been working on this idea sadly i was busy working on the small ship stuff so i diddnt get work on my stuff till recently. i already finished modeling them up and need to be textured and all that, you can see them on my forum page

Oh wow! just what I was looking for! Well sorta. heh
A few weeks back I tried making a swappable-tool ship, using merge blocks, and with small-ship connectors (mod) along a side to transfer inventories from the tools.. But sadly the game is kinda buggy right now, and so connectors and mergeblocks and landing gear all tend to explode when used together, even when you take every precaution to do things right..lol

So for now, this mod will be a great work-around. :D It could do with a slightly customized model, to help differentiate it from other tubes. OR Even better, just change the merge-block so that it has a conveyor inside it, with on the back and/or sides, and connect when merged/linked to other merge blocks. I wish.. :/ dono why the heck the game didn't do that to begin with..
Officer SkidMark Sep 21, 2014 @ 10:09am
@killingcougar both now are possible with the mod API and i want to make them but that requires knowing C# coding which im trying to learn... but not the easiest.
killingcougar Sep 21, 2014 @ 5:44am
I think we just need a merge block that acts as a conveyor, and perhapse special rotors that also function as a rotating conveyor tube to simplify crane designs.
