This mod is commendable and adds numerous much-needed changes to Halo 4. I haven't finished a full playthrough yet, but my chief complaint is the relative lack of Promethean Soldiers. An enemy type akin to them was desperately needed to make Halo 4's gameplay loop less boring. When I first booted up the game, I chose to play Infinity since I haven't played that mission in base Halo 4 in a while. The Promethean Soldiers here were well-used and I was excited to see more of them. Now having played Shutdown, Reclaimer, and part of Forerunner, I'm sad to see they appear infrequently. I hope you add more of them into pre-existing encounters and create a few unique encounters with them as well.

mod is very cool but i got to the reclaimer mission and the target locator is broken lmao so basically the level is soft locked i don't know if its because the new updates but hopefully this gets fixed (2/15/2025)

I'm new to all this, but I just made a Reshade that mimics the missing lens flare effects from the mod. I tried to restore it through mod tools, but for now this have to do. I'm enjoying the mod so far. Loving the additions like health bars for chief and the vehicles. So far the only thing that needs fixing is no first person model for the Storm Rifle

Downsides are the broken Didact face model, he talks like he's in CE - I'd suggest just not changing his model if it causes the face break, the original is fine especially given how little you see him. And while they work fine the Forerunner reworked weapons have some jank to them. The reload animation can just snap 10% of the time, the Suppressor's RoF immediately drops to zero when you let go so you can't skim rapid shots like in H5G, and there's a little bit of clunkiness around trying to use them too rapidly.

A 4/5 Stars mod, definitely feels like a solid replacement for the H4 campaign for me so far - with some polish this could be the definitive Halo 4 experience

With some polish this would be the definitive Halo 4 experience. Reworked Forerunner weapons are great, they all feel a little more alien and unique and less like human weapons with floaty bits - the reload gimmick of charging back up is a nice touch. Covenant look more like they should, and all enemy ranks are much more obvious, Knights especially. Genuinely fun sandbox all round, really feels like Halo 4 Definitive, doesn't go overboard in Bungie-ing it completely. Love the old Chief armour and appreciate the change into the new armour midway through.

I really, really love what you've done with this. Making some of the less faithful 343 assets more classic, creating an functional soldier class of Promethean, and expanding on the Halo 4/ 5 art style instead of just replacing, REALLY good stuff.

Well at least what can be reasonably done by one guy.

The reason why the art-game design in the final product turned out like it did. Is that the team developing halo 4 had to overhaul most of the what was intended, or already done in early-middle 2011, because microsoft wanted it to be more like "what was popular at the time".

Not surprisingly what the art-game design team's original vision is better then what it ended up being turned in to.

For example the gun that became the lightrifle was a energy crossbow that's both functionally distinct, and visually consistent with the forerunner aesthetic.

Not just a slightly a slightly different battle rifle with an sunny d flavor.

I REALLY like what was done with the Promethean weapons, making them more unique in the sandbox visually and functionally. I actually use the Suppressor now!

I still wish that we can get Prometheans looking like the Forerunner caste in the terminals and not some bug-robos, but that would probably be out of scope.

Watchers are bearable now with reduced health + their cool time distortion bubbles

Soldiers are a welcome addition...mostly. Their rate of fire is a bit imbalanced (a solo suppresor wielding soldier can melt you in a few seconds on Normal...even faster than Knights or a swarm of major Crawlers)

Part 3 I liked a lot of the visual tweaks we got to so many of the covenant assets. The grunts gear was shaped more in line with the bungie trilogy design, the Ibie'shan Jackals saw a more slender facial design, and the Vehicles like the Phantom and CCS cruisers got a much needed facelift. The re-introduction of the Revenant with plasma cannons instead of mini mortar was a curious choice, and given its limited use in the campaign makes me wonder if it was worth it.
Replacing the Mantis' chaingun with a rapid fire railgun was a neat take.
The use of cut dialogue was interesting, made me wonder why it was cut. Most of it fit seamlessly.
Overall, I like the Genesong cut, I'll actually go back and play the level Reclaimer when its fixed.
Not a fan of practically every change made to the Didact, but otherwise the game remained enjoyable and new sandbox elements were interesting to explore.

Part 2 The addition of the Bishop Beam was neat, almost a halo legends inspired forerunner beam pistol. Powerful too for its size. As for the sound re works, I'm not sold on a few of them. The magnum uses the vanilla SAW single shot, the boltshot uses the vanilla charged shot, and the suppressor uses the boring vanilla storm rifle sounds.
Most others are alright.
My main issues are what was done to the Didact.
The fangs are gone, and now we have a rather cheap boss fight at the end instead of the end QTE and cutscene. The Didact hiding in a floaty box to shoot at the player, then noping out into slipspace when the box is destroyed felt really wrong. And as noted by SOI the face rigging on the didacts face is broken, so we just get some garrys mod level jaw movements in the now ONE cutscene we see his face.

Part 1
The Genesong cut. Lets get into it.
Its evident a lot of work has gone into this mod, both functionally and aesthetically.
I liked the reworked weapon sandbox for the most part, although I missed the DMR when it was gone. The plasma launcher felt a little out of place, particularly as its only available in the last 2 missions. I liked most of the reworks of the forerunner weapons, I felt H5 missed the point of the suppressor, and SOI's is more akin to H5. The boltshot having a short ranged deluge of projectiles rather than shotgun style burst felt weird, but the Light rifle felt more defined with its BR hip fire action, and DMR scoped shots being more obvious than in vanilla. I LOVE the visual rework of the scattershot, but its still just a hardlight shotty. not much can be done there. The Binary rifle also being closer to its H5 sibling felt a little wrong tho.

Best Halo 4 mod by far. Completely blows Mythic Edition and Reflow out of the water. This is actually FUN as well as having an amazing gameplay and art style revamp. Something other mods completely neglect. Keep up the phenomenal work. I hope to see more amazing things from you.

I absolutely adored the additions/changes this mod made to halo 4; especially the
restoration of cut dialogue that made the dynamic of the characters and story much more compelling. I’d love to see the mod adapted to Spartan ops in the future, I honestly couldn’t get enough of the new promethean weapons

Loving this mod so far, haven't made it to Infinity yet but just came across the Prometheans. I, really like the more human face mask the Knights have

Gives me this vibe like they're suppose to be akin to angels in a way which would be really fitting for a 'halo' game. Specially as an idea of like, you're intruding Heaven being this shield world. Dunno if that was the intention, but it's really nice detail with the new model

I really love this mod. However there are a few things I don't agree with, mainly it seems that the game has been made significantly easier. Not sure why this is as enemies seem much more reactive but they just never end up killing me in situations where I would die in vanilla. Also the Promemethians are substantially nerfed to where they will lose to the covenant forces whenever they go head to head. Aside from that the hunter cannon sounds are ear destroying. But will still run this mod as default from now on.
