Revolver rifle

Frow what I know, the captain quickdraw and big guns talents actually check the ammunition used when attacking, and not the weapon, and since the rifle uses revolver rounds which have the pistolammoitem tag, this weapon does get affected by these talents.
The same is for the rifleman talent, so the rifle should not get the bonus from it.

Also, fun fact, the quickdraw talent can apply the attack bonus based off the ammo, but it only reduces the affliction when using a pistolitem, luckily the revolver rifle has the tag, so the talent isn't overpowered. (or at least that's how I think it works)

So, does it benefit from captain's talents that buff revolver damage? Or security talents for rifles perhaps?

@The Seraph of Tomorrow the lever action came first for rifles and revolving rifles are real, plus it wasnt popular cause most were cap and ball which was dirty as you said plus could chain fire. And the first one was created as a cap and ball when real rifles would be using cartridges. (some had cartridge but they were expensive and had really big cylinders)

Out of curiosity is the weapon effected by perks? Because there are perks the affects both revolvers and rifles separately, does this weapon benefit from both?

Great idea. While this doesn't have quality modifiers, the +33% damage is 3% more than a Masterwork revolver. That with the lower recoil and spread makes this a great find before late-game Handcannons.
I am curious though if the crew would benefit from using this because by the time you would likely have more than one, it would be around when the crew starts getting better weapons. Also by late-game, Captains and Captain's Assistants would be using handcannons. Thoughts?

I suppose I should have said never widely used instead of designed, as there were many curious weapon designs in that era.

@The Seraph of Tomorrow: actually, there were revolver rifles [en.wikipedia.org], and revolver shotgun(s). [en.wikipedia.org]

Fun fact: The reason rifles like this were never designed is because the hot powder from each shot would blow back into the shooters face. Which is why level actions became a thing.

Oh sweet, Does it get the Quickdraw/Big Guns bonuses?

Zera: It's the way the devs call it in their XML files, I'm just following their scheme.
For example, the vanilla Revolver (excerpt) (Check last parameter):

<RangedWeapon barrelpos="29,11" spread="0" unskilledspread="2" combatPriority="70" drawhudwhenequipped="true" crosshairscale="0.2" reload="0.5">
Zera Feb 4, 2024 @ 3:13am
using the word "reload" for the time between shots threw me off, maybe "cycling"?
