Report a translation problem
The spears of hardmode minerals are good, but they aren't "WOW" just... normal spears. A Slime Queen crystal spear that throws crystal shards on hit and the Daybrak being considered a spear would be great additions.
Give extra effects to "normal" spears works too.

Around 234 crit dmg for early game spears, literally 2shoted the eye of cthulhu with 2 heavy sings of the storm spear, its some mod adding damage?
Right now from what it looks like, spears with the "True Melee" damage type do not cause weakpoint damage, while spears with the normal melee damage type appears to act as intended with hitting weakpoints.
One of your mods might tweak the spear item and remove the spear flag from it, there is nothing I can do about it on my end sadly :/
Unsure if bug or oversight, but ironically the regular "Spear" spear does not correctly trigger weakpoints for me. I have tested and have not been able to find which mod might conflict with this, but other spears work as intended. Running Calamity + Fargo's.

i feel like this is particularly the case with pre hardmode (especially when you're still in the ore armors), as the class distinctions haven't really settled in yet
using exclusively one kind of weapon from start to finish in terraria doesn't *actually* make sense for players to do, its more of a challenge type thing
a 1% droprate means you have to kill 230 eater of souls to have 90% chance of having obtained at least one vile pike, and the 99% chance comes at 459 kills
This means more than 1 in 10 player has to kill over 200 eater of souls with a trident, which is kinda nonsense
To put things in perspective, with the current number of downloads the mod has, it's over 600 persons that would be bound to have a terrible experience farming for this weapon
a 5% droprate puts the 90 - 99 percentiles at 45 and 90 kills respectively
2% would be 114 and 228
0.5% would be 460 and 919
As a rule of thumb, I'd rather have a droprate that's too high and lower it based on feedback than the opposite, since it being too low is a LOT more frustrating than too high, where the items can be sold or trashed
Hopefully I didn't do math mistakes lol
Part of why I got so many may be because I'm playing on the dontdigup seed, and many EoS spawn on the surface.
That said, 5% means 1 in 20 EoS will drop a Vile Pike, which seems a bit high even on a regular world.
The Vile Pike has a 5% droprate from Eater of Souls and Devourers
I'll lower it a bit, but it's a hard balance to find :/

I will be adding a hardmode dungeon spear, that is a true melee alternative to the North Pole
config for drop rates would be nice
Please make North Pole stronger against single targets OR add another spear to fight Moon Lord with (Preferably one that is true melee like previous spears).
We definitely need some form of cross-mod support so that any other mods that add spear-type weapons could fall into the spear category for these buffs and weakpoint mechanics, thank you so much for making spears so fun and engaging to use!!
