Spear Rework Mod

Description
This mod aims to rework the spear subclass, turning into a viable and fun challenge instead of arguably the most forgotten weapon type in the game.
It adds a weakpoint system allowing the player to critically hit for massive damage, and accessories that go with it.
Some spears are also added to fill gaps in progression!

really cool mod, do you think it'd be possible to rework the daybreak to be a spear that fires on rightclick? feels kinda weird just having the north pole as the final spear and no pillar weapon or ML drop

Projectiles created by "true melee" hits will activate weakpoints, however.

I think I've found the issue. Calamity has an offshoot of melee damage called "true melee", which specifically applies to vanilla weapons that don't fire projectiles. You making it so that weakpoints are only triggered by melee damage may not be counting true melee.

The weak points won't trigger. Could this be because I'm playing Calamity, which reworks a lot of weapons?

I really like the mod, the changes to spear gameplay are amazing, there's just one thing I'm missing, more spears at certain points in the game. It's not that there are big emphy gaps in the progression, but I feel there aren't any "attractive" options.

The spears of hardmode minerals are good, but they aren't "WOW" just... normal spears. A Slime Queen crystal spear that throws crystal shards on hit and the Daybrak being considered a spear would be great additions.

Give extra effects to "normal" spears works too.

No. Because they really don't have any range benefit to any other weapon their price still the shortest weapons in the game. I'd slow down their tack pattern but give them much more range and make it so that he gets a bunch of knock back

Not sure how they failed to make them spears. It feels pretty much exactly like what a spear should be, fishing for a weak point and poking for critical damage. I think it's perfect.
