미쳤네 ㅋㅋㅋ 대단해 ㄷㄷ
GrahamBurger  [author] Mar 20, 2024 @ 8:05pm
It's completely standalone. If you're on the latest beta branch of Noita, everything should work perfectly fine.
Labubu Cat Punbun Mar 20, 2024 @ 7:43pm
does it need any other mod? its saying its not compatible

So profound

@RedWolvez It seems you're correct, I disabled everything except for this mod and also More Dialogue, set the Vsync to Adaptive, and there was no slowdown at all. I wonder what else I was using that may have been causing it. 🤔 I guess that's a problem for future Swiss to discover.
RedWolvez Jan 29, 2024 @ 12:16pm
@unreal ed, its just game requires the beta, not the mods, never.
RedWolvez Jan 29, 2024 @ 12:14pm
@swiss, that seems doesn't happens to me, considering I have completely modded the game to the oblivion, ton of content mods, and QOL mods. You might have either conflicted mods or other ones that causes lag alot, such as respawning monsters mod can cause huge lag when its being relieved in a lava, which dropping more and more gold until your pc cant handle it anymore. Just check and make sure.
Swiss Jan 15, 2024 @ 9:39am
I don't think it's been mentioned in the description but make sure that vsync is disabled, I had it set to adaptive (I have no idea why, I think that's the default) and my 60 fps would lock to 30 fps whenever there was dialogue. I am using the beta branch, so I have no idea if this would fix the slowdown outside of beta.

beta branch of Noita
Unreal Ed Jan 13, 2024 @ 10:04am
Beta branch of... Noita? or is there like a beta branch of this mod? and if the latter, how do we turn it on?
Danizk0 Jan 13, 2024 @ 2:17am
Oh, I know all about steam forums. 8 years of experience on the TF2 ones.
anarcher Jan 13, 2024 @ 1:50am
Just be glad you don't have to use the actual steam forums.
Danizk0 Jan 12, 2024 @ 12:41pm
Tending to bug reports from steam workshop comments will drive anyone insane
GrahamBurger  [author] Jan 12, 2024 @ 11:19am
are you on the beta branch!?!?!
EricLW Jan 10, 2024 @ 2:14pm
i dont know why but dont works for me, i just buy the game last week
GrahamBurger  [author] Jan 6, 2024 @ 10:55am
Turning down the dialogue frequency in settings might help. Are you on the beta branch? If not, there's not much I can do to help.
Unreal Ed Jan 6, 2024 @ 10:38am
I can also confirm btw that it's this mod. I was getting super slowdowns, turned off the mod, saved and reloaded right in the middle of a floor, and now no slowdowns at all. I was ESPECIALLY getting tons of slowdowns with the ghost "mournful spirit" perk, which spawns a lot of chat-able NPCs
Unreal Ed Jan 6, 2024 @ 10:33am
Same on the stuttering for me. I think the issue is there's just a ton of enemy dialogues appearing everywhere on the map at the same time and that causes stutters. I've also had major slowdowns.

If you could limit the number of dialogues that show up, I bet that would fix it. And ideally, make those dialogues only appear if the enemy is within a certain distance of the player.

I also suspect the text appearing character per character doesn't help, but maybe I'm wrong about that
NathanSnail Jan 5, 2024 @ 12:43pm
Yeah, stutters after a while sounds like repeated logging due to mod erroring, probably due to not being on beta. When the game flushes the log buffer it'll freeze for a bit. Solution is to read the description and use beta branch.
The Owlsmith Dec 31, 2023 @ 3:50am
ok who wants to make noita into a visual novel where you can date steve?
Bennycopter Dec 30, 2023 @ 8:49am
I was having the same slow down issue that FreedomMoped has, but that issue went away for me when I switched to the beta branch.
GrahamBurger  [author] Dec 28, 2023 @ 10:37am
Ah man. I'm not sure what else I can do - are you sure it's this mod that's causing it?
FreedomMoped Dec 28, 2023 @ 6:48am
Tried it again, and have noticed a pattern. It's not a noticeable issue at first, but the longer the run goes on for the more apparent it is. Consistent stutters, maybe 0.8 seconds apart, which grow longer in duration from negligible to borderline unplayable as time passes.
GrahamBurger  [author] Dec 26, 2023 @ 1:34pm
I changed some stuff around to help with performance. Hopefully it helps.
FreedomMoped Dec 25, 2023 @ 9:28am
This mod seems to cause major stuttering for me. Average 45fps and constant dips on a fairly high end setup?
GrahamBurger  [author] Dec 24, 2023 @ 8:15pm
Levi dialogue works fine on my end
CobaltHero27 Dec 24, 2023 @ 7:42pm
"spiders come in all shapes and sizes" is oddly threatening specially with later context
Autumnis Dec 23, 2023 @ 7:27pm
levi is missing dialogue it seems
GrahamBurger  [author] Dec 22, 2023 @ 11:14am
I suppose that works? You can look up how to access steam game branches though, it's not too hard
Keres? Dec 22, 2023 @ 11:02am
i changed the conditional expression on line 28 of init.lua to true and it works for me, partly because i don't know how to access the beta branch on the workshop
GrahamBurger  [author] Dec 22, 2023 @ 10:49am
Ah, yeah, that's because you're not on the beta branch. That function doesn't exist on main branch yet.
Keres? Dec 22, 2023 @ 10:43am
error at 'mods/grahamsdialogue/init.lua': [string "mods/grahamsdialogue/init.lua"]:28: attempt to call global 'ModDoesFileExist' (a nil value)
GrahamBurger  [author] Dec 22, 2023 @ 10:11am
I'm not sure, can you try unsubscribing and resubscribing? The Enable Logger mod can also help, if you want to try and see what the error log there says.
Keres? Dec 22, 2023 @ 5:56am
why does it fail to initialize on my game?

GrahamBurger  [author] Dec 17, 2023 @ 9:45am
Alright, updated the mod to hopefully fix the no-speaking bug (thanks Nathan). Also put a note at the top line of the workshop description to warn about beta branch. Thanks for the feedback, everyone!
Danizk0 Dec 17, 2023 @ 3:10am
Oh, damn. You should probably write something about being on beta branch in the description.
Wandering Stars Dec 17, 2023 @ 2:28am
lovely.
GrahamBurger  [author] Dec 17, 2023 @ 12:19am
Currently looking into an issue where some enemies (mainly in Vault or Temple of the Art) don't speak. It might be a bug with Noita itself... until then, sorry if those biomes are a bit quiet!
GrahamBurger  [author] Dec 16, 2023 @ 8:24pm
Are you on the beta branch? There's a specific crash related to text SpriteComponents causing a crash when trying to create a ragdoll, that's fixed on the beta branch. That should fix the issue!
