Hey everybody, I'm probably not going to update this mod because I found one that seems to do about the same thing plus allow for upgrades, which is: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=776706275

I am playing the game again somehow, but I'm not going to make any promises about anything >.>

As people are saying, the welders are totally pink. I absolutely love this mod, it makes the welders actually worth it! It's painful trying to use welders that literally have to be touching things to work, and even then only weld a VERY small area, so this mod is key in my opinion, but the welders turning bright pink/purple entirely ruins the immersion of the game :(

this mod breaks the welder texture
Trampeltier Dec 16, 2016 @ 4:14pm
The mod works very well, but textures are purple, may you fix that?
CaD Sep 20, 2016 @ 1:59pm
There`s not many welder mods for large/small grid we realy would love this updated. Please please please. There also uselful having a few of these burried undergound to keep the dogs at bay. I use a sensor so they switch on/off when people are around, works a treat. Had my mates puzzled for ages how the dogs were dying as soon as they came near. Welders are the best defence for spidere/dogs haha.

Are you going to update this to DX11? Or somehow let it use the default texture for the DX11 as well?

ever tried giving the Welder a crazy high radius?

I'd like to see a Welder that can act like a ships auto repair module or something.

but i figure if a Welder's radius is set too high it'll kill players but repair ship wide damage.

>updated 7/9/14 (DDMMYY) 2 years ago, i bet the projector building was implemented after this date and the mod does not support it.
VWAH Jul 10, 2016 @ 5:14am
@AntagonistWizard Remember to say that it was testes in a MP Session.
Awri Lynn Jul 10, 2016 @ 4:52am
I tested it, it currently makes the welder area larger, but does not place projectors projection automatically, and it renders black without textures. :wizard:
TheWorkingMan43 Jun 6, 2016 @ 4:09am
so it's a normal weilder but your mod makes it larger? I been looking for it in the list.?
Q_meets_the_doctor Dec 10, 2015 @ 5:08pm
dx 11 please
KilledJoy Nov 26, 2015 @ 3:18pm
DX-11 not updated yet.... its not gonna happen unsub guys and rate down with planets requiring DX-11 this mod kinda isnt something you wanna look at in dx-11 with black eveywhere
YENDOR MOSREH Nov 10, 2015 @ 3:02pm
can you work on a auto ship building block, that works in with the projector to weld and supply parts for repairs, more or less an auto repair and bulid block. ie if i place the needed items in a container conected to the projector welder it will fix or build ship
BioMech Jun 3, 2015 @ 7:39pm
Welding areas overlapping, probably. It's an SE bug, not this mod's fault.
Gandur May 30, 2015 @ 3:13am
DX11 update planned?
Wallard Mar 15, 2015 @ 8:05pm
This mod is causing an incedible fps drop. It's a shame, this was one of the most useful mods I had. Any idea what happened Weaver?
Qobura Mar 15, 2015 @ 6:48am
Anything on this?
Ced23Ric Jan 13, 2015 @ 9:49am
Heya Weaver, it seems like the mod no longer works. Can you confirm/deny/comment?
Klokkwork Dec 24, 2014 @ 11:02am
It seems like the welding effect area could be offset a bit. It doesn't feel like it should reach back behind the welder the way it does. It seems to have a 5x5x6 welding area, but only half of that is forward from the welder tips, the other half reaching backwards.
YENDOR MOSREH Dec 23, 2014 @ 5:17am
if you do make larger range then how about 10 mt x 5x5 mt then i could put 1 at each end of the ship pointing back towards the obersite end it would fix the hole ship as it is being damaged so the welder at the back of the ship fixes the front and the welder at the front fixes the rear and if you used a projector then you could have a template for new part as there destroyed a indistrutable ship more or less as the bits get shot of the projector and the welder replaces all the ships parts and if your in the drivers seat the welder wont kill you, perfact for radio controll ships
Helratz Dec 18, 2014 @ 7:19pm
I tried using this for the first time today but did not notice any difference from the vanilla. Not sure if todays update broke it, but thought I should mention it . Also I really look forward to your proposed larger range welders. I can't express now how badly I need them! Thanks.
Kaeser Dec 12, 2014 @ 1:21pm
Good job bro

Do you take any requests?

Would be great to have a new version of this mod for a welder and a grinder with 5 times the normal range.

Actually it would be great if you released a laser version for large ships for both the welder and grinder

Keep up the good work...

JWA< GOOD IDEA
JWA Nov 27, 2014 @ 1:33pm
This would be very OP if I spaced them around inside my hull on connectors or something for auto-repair.
Weaver  [author] Nov 27, 2014 @ 11:56am
I'm planning on making a simple series of increasing size for increasing cost, even.
MagnusEffect Nov 27, 2014 @ 11:14am
Thanks weaver. Much appreciated. I think it will be worth it to have this be stand alone. If you want to make it more survival friendly, I also recommend increasing the amount of components it needs by 50-100%. That should help balance out its strengths.
JWA Nov 26, 2014 @ 2:57pm
Oh is that the problem? I can't find it in my menu and assumed some other mod was wiping it out, but you are saying it's the stock welder?
Weaver  [author] Nov 25, 2014 @ 11:27pm
This currently replaces the builtin welder but I'm going to change that soon.
MagnusEffect Nov 25, 2014 @ 11:23pm
does this add a new welder or replace the original? I could see this being really helpful for automated shipyards, but I would rather not sacrifice the vanilla welder to get it.
Captain_Crooked Nov 20, 2014 @ 4:53pm
Do you think you could make a (clearly unalanced) super huge welding area mod? like, same as you have except 5x bigger
Weaver  [author] Oct 30, 2014 @ 7:42pm
Huhh i'll take a look at that tuesday or so; plan on refurbishing this mod after i get home from a trip, now that i know what i'm doing
BCMortis Oct 30, 2014 @ 6:42pm
Running into issues with the wide-area welders where they won't weld some things. Especially if the part is from another mod. But it's not very consistant. Some parts from mods will weld fine, but others won't. And some vanilla parts act like they won't weld, but may have their components added, just no actual building being done. I've had instances where two of the same parts were side by side, one welds up fine, but the other won't.
Weaver  [author] Oct 24, 2014 @ 12:16pm
This one replaces the base welders and is a very simplistic hack mod. I just put out a mod that adds new Small Ship Laser Welders which have a thin, stacking design that compensates for all the things I couldn't do with this mod (e.g. make multiple effect areas or a large eliptical one)
Cronyx Oct 24, 2014 @ 11:38am
Does this replace existing or add a new part?
Greyson XMG Oct 20, 2014 @ 1:13am
I have an idea. New block called 'nanobot welders' Basicly a modified welder, with a new appearance. Function. Slowly repairs all blocks in a given radius... Say... 30 blocks. BUT does so at 1/10 or even 1/100 the speed. This could help in ship maintence where ships take micro-damage from movng parts, or meteor damage to heavy armor. Also useful in repairing small craft that have taken minor and unseeable damage, by putting one underneath its parking spot.

It would be useless in combat due to slow speed.

Naturaly it can't replace a block that has been destroyed completely, AND it is limited by the parts it has access to.

Sound like a winner?
Coreinsanity Oct 13, 2014 @ 8:38am
If I might ask, what's the goal of this? What will it let you do? Also sounds cool, look forward to seeing it!
Weaver  [author] Oct 13, 2014 @ 3:36am
I'm working on a new design presently, working around limitations in the welder shiptool as implemented. Base model is done, just need buildstates, variations, and to figure out the detailed bits of the cubeblocks data that I haven't had to think about before.
Coreinsanity Oct 12, 2014 @ 10:46am
This mod looks nice, but it would be better if we could get it as a new block as opposed to a modified block. I'd like to use this to create an assembly room for ships, as well.
grifter Oct 1, 2014 @ 12:19am
can you please make one with the grinders my auto grinding ship needs just a small range increase
Fingersniffer Sep 19, 2014 @ 8:56am
Hmm I had reports last night they were greatly improved, I will test more tonight, might I suggest updating the information section for this mod to remove references to grinders. I will update later with my findings.

Weaver  [author] Sep 19, 2014 @ 12:44am
Um, the grinders aren't actually included. They were included by mistake at first and then removed again.
Fingersniffer Sep 18, 2014 @ 8:17pm
Additional comment to my last one: I probably wouldn't have put this mod on my server had I known about the grinders too, as its not listed in the title of the mod.
Fingersniffer Sep 18, 2014 @ 8:16pm
Request: Could you please separate Modified Welder and Grinders into two mods instead of a single one? I want my players to have the better welder but the grinders are way too overpowered for MP use.
Weaver  [author] Sep 10, 2014 @ 8:32am
I don't see a place to change the power usage in the xml for the block. If I find one, I will. The default welder only uses a tiny 2kw though; I don't think the devs have considered proper power usage for it yet.
The KotU Sep 9, 2014 @ 5:12pm
adjust the power usage to be also more, or you are just making a over powered cheat block that doesnt need to be in the game
Biblitz Sep 7, 2014 @ 1:03pm
Will you be making this a dedicated block vs replacing stock? This mod looks fantastic but really don't want to get rid of the stock parts. Also increasing the power usage significantly would keep the new part balanced!
Weaver  [author] Sep 7, 2014 @ 10:34am
@Guttersnipe That should be fixed now
Dice Sep 7, 2014 @ 8:16am
Ginders are replaced by pink error boxes.
