I updated it to 1.6. I tried to fix the issue with VVE Upgrades, but it's not working, and I don't know why. Maybe its something hardcoded, but I only know how to make simple patches :c
I added an incompatibility note with Upgrades, but if anyone wants to fork this mod and fix it, feel free to do it

Make that "will randomly get into a state where they never complete". Sometimes a save and reload fixes it. Sometimes canceling the upgrade and restarting it fixes it. Sometimes not.

Oh dear. This seems to break the VVE upgrades in a bad way. The upgrades still want the original parts, and even if you supply them often the work will never happen.

That extra workbench and other crud is less annoying than broken upgrades :(

Do note that this compatible with SOS2, as all of the shuttles use simple materials when I checked with this mod enabled. If that wasn't the case without the mod enabled, that is.

I removed RimThunder from the list because patching all of them would take too long. They're more complex and expensive than VE vehicles, it wouldn't be balanced if I used the same way I'm doing with them. Sorry folks, but I'm gonna have to leave that work for someone else.

Note to self: I'm going to rebalance the Rimthunder building costs before I add the new mod they made, I think the VVE ones are good enough, but the Rimthunder might be too expensive. I'll look at their stats and their original building cost to see what to do

@Khalltlag I increased the steel cost a little to represent the simple parts (exhaustion, suspension, etc) and wheels are represented by 10 Chemfuel per wheel. Many of them also require a bit more components as well. Everything else remains unchanged, I only altered the recipe cost

@I'm blind as fuck I don't know; I just patched the materials to build them like any other vehicle. Assuming the repair mechanics use the original <costList>, then it should instead use the new one. If it doesn't... then it means its hardcoded and I wouldn't know how to fix it.

Updated, added RimThunder, though this one was a bit harder to balance. Let me know if anyone found them too cheap or too expensive.

Sometimes you just need simple rather than overly realistic. Does it work with the vehicles expanded tier 3, that function to restore car wrecks?

I almost got out a spreadsheet and starting making this in rimsqol. Thank you for this simple xml based mod (which I should have been doing instead of using rimsqol XD)

@k47 Yes, it only changes recipes. I intentionally left the original vehicle parts unchanged because I imagined it would cause errors if I removed them

Trying this today, I wasn't a fan of having to manage all the vehicle components. I take it that this only affects recipes doesn't actually remove vehicle components, right? If I have a vehicle that's not covered in this mod I can still make wheels/engines/etc to craft said vehicle, right?
