no worries, thanks for the mod regardless.

I double checked and it works fine on items from the base game, just not items from mods I think.
It is just everything I wanted to dye was from a mod.

Well really by "from a mod" I think it means the model is from the mod.

I tried it on an item that uses a model from the base game but it's data and ID are "from a mod" and it worked. But other items with brand new models aren't working. At least I'm guessing they're models and/or textures from mods.

In at least one case the item could be dyed from the dyer's bench but not this mod.
lol but I prefer your experience.

Thanks for the information. Seems the game has changed a bit, causing a conflict. I'll still need time to work around the changes. For the time being, it seems it works better on modded armors.
cawphee.black Sep 16 @ 8:25am
Thanks for this mod, It is much nicer than the dyer's bench.
hmm any word on a fix?

Unfortunately it doesn't work for me.
It doesn't show the preview of the selected colors and doesn't actually change the colors of things I've tried.
The only result I can see on what I've tried so far is very weird.

It just sets the concussion damage and harvest power on each dyed item. The values seem to not be based on the dyes selected. They're the same for each such item.

Can confirm there is currently a bug in the mod. I'll have to administer a fix. Some items work, others do not.
professor_xavier2 Jul 25 @ 10:20pm
Couldn't make it work. All armor i dye became white. Both vanilla armor and armor featured in mods.
Black★Rock Shooter Feb 10 @ 6:45pm
Tried with another piece and still received the same no-texture polygon issue without MSG. But was able to revert as admin back to default and fix it to vanilla.
WaffleButterSoft  [author] Feb 10 @ 2:18pm
Yes, MSG is (metal smoothness glow) and cannot be applied to vanilla because of Conan's virtual textures.

I may need to review the code to make sure the base colors are not being washed out by default.
Black★Rock Shooter Feb 10 @ 10:30am
Edit, doubled clicked to enable MSG without understanding what MSG was (first time using the mod) May have been issue despite not touching MSG settings.
Black★Rock Shooter Feb 10 @ 10:20am
@Alzero had a similar issue [Dyed a Khitan DLC med armor chest after warning of incompatibility. Turned armor white/polygon, tried to revert to vanilla and issue remained. Removing armor/replacing/droping/relogging all failed to resolve the issue]

Possibly position in load order?
5 more [sorc twekas, EAA, EAA(lvls/perks), bark from crafting, chromatic spice]

Can you remove the vegetation from the Buttermilk mod so that the bottom is hairless? Because when using the WUAS (WaffleButter's Universal Aesthetics Solution) mod, the entire bottom is hairy. Please make it so that by default it removes hair when you put the bottom part of the clothes on the thrall? Your mod is amazing, but the inability to remove hair from the microbikini specifically from the thrall is a problem. I saw that in the "Barbarism and armors BB version" mod it is made so that the bottom immediately removes hair, I really ask you to do the same.
Alzero Nov 21, 2024 @ 6:58am
When I try to dye something now it just turns the armour a textureless white/grey

@WaffleButterSoft Thank you very much and keep up the fantastic work.

The discord link has not expired. I'll post it here: https://discord.gg/gZMfXvh
WaffleButterSoft  [author] Aug 23, 2024 @ 11:36am
Let me check the discord link. As for the grey, it's more of a Conan issue that prevents chromatic spice from grabbing the default dye colors for an item. So I had to elect to keep things grey to start.

One of the latest armors for WAUS actually makes a blinking animation to let you know which part you are dyeing, I am planning to make that happen to every item.
Hiro Aug 21, 2024 @ 2:48pm
I keep getting the invalid invite for the Discord link. Is there a known mod conflict that makes the preview of dye able objects white/grey? All else works great I just can't see what I am dying in the preview. Regardless thanks for the splendid mod and excellent work.
WaffleButterSoft  [author] Aug 20, 2024 @ 3:33pm
Thanks, will try to keep it working.

Adding this to my server to replace another mod who's author is giving up on.
WaffleButterSoft  [author] Jul 9, 2024 @ 4:46pm
I appreciate your appreciation for original assets, but I will submit that asset creation is difficult and time consuming. While I do make my own assets, the process for unlocking up to 12 dye channels requires extra art labor. So I give some modders a *little* slack. The assets that people re-purpose also do not come in a proper state for dyeing. So they opt to skip it.

I will agree that Funcom could have easily made more than 4 channels available, but that's up to their creative director. However, they certainly were in a better position than I was to add dye channels.
Old Coot Gamer Jul 9, 2024 @ 8:38am
Yeah, OK. I'm an idiot. I just completely ignored the fact that it, indeed, shows the player inventory and that whatever you want to dye had to be there. DERP! Still pining for a way to open locked channels, but that's not on you. That's FunCom and mod designers who (mostly) cheat and alter game assets instead of making their own shit, but don't unlock those locked dye channels.
WaffleButterSoft  [author] Jul 8, 2024 @ 8:53am
The system shows your inventory. Any item that isn't greyed out is dyeable.
Old Coot Gamer Jul 8, 2024 @ 8:22am
"Up until now, it was able to dye accessories using the accessory system so long as those accessories had dye channels. "

If this is so, I guess I failed to see how it was done. When opening the interface for Chromatic Spice, all I saw are the vanilla armor pieces that I was wearing available to dye. I saw no button or tab or other means of accessing any accessory pieces that I was wearing for dying. Nor did I see a way to access any piece of armor or accessory that might have been in my inventory. And as far as I know, the system doesn't utilize the new(er) way that FunCom has implemented dying in vanilla game (only on the Dyer's Bench).
WaffleButterSoft  [author] Jul 7, 2024 @ 9:12pm
In addition, considering whiskey's accessory system is another mod entirely, I lack any ability to truly be able to target accessory mods without immense trial and error or breach of ToS.

My exploration of Conan while developing this mod has revealed that trying to create the most ideal situation (one which you have described) requires significant manual labor, forced compatibility issues, additional file bloat, and potential performance drawbacks.

From my perspective, there is no code to crack, just additional operating costs.
WaffleButterSoft  [author] Jul 7, 2024 @ 9:12pm
@Old Coot Gamer: If there was anything to allow for what you just discussed, it would be this mod. Up until now, it was able to dye accessories using the accessory system so long as those accessories had dye channels. I don't know the exact nature of what you experienced, but dyeing items requires two things:

-The item in question needs to be developed by the graphics artists to be able to support dye channels and in the specified region. Yes, that means this is partly an art problem.

-The item ideally needed to be considered by Funcom or the mod developer as dye-able and have engine materials supporting it. (Weapons)
Old Coot Gamer Jul 2, 2024 @ 8:27am
This system is great for base armors, but for folks like me who use accessory mods for Whiskey's Accessory Wardrobe, it's not usable in it's current form. It's too bad as I would love something with a color wheel that let's me dye channels that are otherwise un-dyeable. I really don't understand FunCom's decisions on things sometimes. Why they would limit players ability to **dye** a thing?! It's not like it would give someone an unfair advantage to have the metal on a Hyperborean Slaver's Waistguard be blue, for example (can't be dyed normally in-game). Perhaps someday someone will crack the code on this and give us a mod that lets us dye any armor (or maybe even weapons!) any old way we choose to.

Great job!

like the sound of this, once I get a new ssd I'll give it a try
WaffleButterSoft  [author] Mar 15, 2024 @ 11:39pm
Ikarus, the description explains why the limitation exists. Please read, and in the future, if you don't like a mod (which is free content by the way), simply don't subscribe to it. We don't need useless criticism.
IKARUS Mar 15, 2024 @ 4:26pm
Having the limitation that it only works properly on modded armors makes this mod sadly very unatractive, cool idea but there are no uses for our server
WaffleButterSoft  [author] Jan 29, 2024 @ 12:59pm
@shogun192 It's something I've thought about doing, actually once I've finished the WAUS update.
shogun192 Jan 28, 2024 @ 7:39am
hey just wondering if this game/ your mod is able to make things go full rgb (as in switching colors on cycle or something of the sort) i already am getting this mod 100%
WaffleButterSoft  [author] Jan 16, 2024 @ 6:55pm
If you are referring to the UI in the screenshots, yes it is part of the mod.
Negative Jan 15, 2024 @ 2:18pm
Is that UI part of the mod? If not, it's slick as hell, totally non-immersive, and I want it!

hello !
small bug report
some items (newer one) don't seem to have an item icon in the Dying UI
istead they are shown as the last valid item icon displayed

example
what is real / what is shown
item 1(ok) : item 1 icon
item 2(not ok): item 1 icon
item 3(not ok): item 1 icon
item 4(ok) : item 4 icon
item 5(not ok): item 4 icon

this dosent break anything, its just the UI
but its still weird because it aplies to any item, dyable or not.
so you might end up having to select a sword to dye a newer piece of equipement or the opposit
you might see a piece of equipement grayed out to find out that its a sword

overall great mod!

Okay SO. Gave this mod a look, and it immediately jumps to among my top favorites. Easy to access, simple layout, nothing overly complex, and just having the ability of a color wheel at all is amazing.

Adding too, used this on pieces of equipment ranging from jewelry, chest armors, lower legs, helmets, circlets, crowns, piercings, and all different manor of footwear, all from well over 20+ mods that add armors/accessories as cosmetic options, and did not encounter a single issue with any of them. No crashes, no glitches, the menu opens pretty damn quick, no hangups. Great stuff.

Will keep experimenting with different things I find going forward in terms of wearables and mods, but thus far? 10/10. Awesome work~! -`💗´-
