idk. I haven't looked at the files for so long, I'd have to relearn the process for download and upload, and figure out what might be missing from the mod file that might have that effect.

Sound of grinding is absent. When I try to grind a block of this mod, it just plays no sound of the grinder tool. Can you fix it ?

Concrete armor should be intended for stationary/static objects - that is, for objects where weight does not matter.
Concrete armor should have more durability than light, or slightly more, with heavy weight (multiple times the weight of heavy). But it should be very cheap and easy to manufacture.
An improvement should/could be reinforced concrete, which when adding metal "in the amount of light armor" has a strength exceeding that of heavy armor (of course - at a multiple weight).
göksu Jul 19, 2023 @ 11:46pm
Concrete armour should have more health than light, but very slightly less than heavy armour with A LOT MORE weight to it. As it is, there is no point to concrete, with even less health than light armour and so much gravel needed (one block needs 2.500kgs of gravel, are you shitting me) that it is just impractical compared to anything else. It's obsolote.

The Concrete Round Armor Inv.Corner seems to be having rendering issues? Or is that just me?
Slaghkre  [author] Dec 17, 2021 @ 7:58pm
@Gunner76th,
The arch is, from left to right, cube blocks at the base, then the 1x2 slope blocks (~26.6deg) rotated to be vertical with bottoms of the tips matched with the bottoms of the bases, then regular slope blocks, then 1x2 blocks placed horizontally, cubes at top and a similar setup on the other side.

With the zero girders, I honestly can't remember if that was intentional.
Gunner76th Dec 17, 2021 @ 7:28am
Also discorded a recipe bug. The Concrete Round Armor Corner build requirements lists Girders - 0
I am assuming this should have a none zero value.
Gunner76th Dec 17, 2021 @ 7:15am
Does anyone know how you go about creating the arch like what is in the top back left of the first image? I do not see any slabs with angled edges so I am unsure how creating them was accomplished.
Doctor Verum Nov 4, 2021 @ 3:31pm
I really do wish these were just a bit more durable. Currently less durable than light armour. Wanted to make heavy bunkers with these.
SunGod Oct 5, 2021 @ 10:40am
Agree that this is hands-down the best concrete blocks mod available for Space Engineers. These are the only blocks that I will use for a permanent planet-side landing pad, and I love that there are large 3x3 and 5x5 block variants that let me build to scale for very large ships that I need to power down and work on. I do wish there more block variations (concrete equivalents of all the vanilla blocks), but for now this handles well my primary use case.

@Slaghkre Thanks for all you work on this mod!
DFA.Jaken Veina Sep 26, 2021 @ 3:19pm
So, after investigating around, I'm still convinced this is the best Concrete blocks mod.

A couple bugs, though...

No audio plays when concrete blocks are being dismantled.

The "Round Inv. Corner" block is messed up. Some of its facts are transparent.

@Slaghkre

Thank you.
Slaghkre  [author] Aug 28, 2021 @ 5:47pm
@Gate

Yup. You may reuse and/or modify anything in the mod folder as you like to use in your mod.

I just apologize for my lack patience to dig through my source files to upload the modified, relevant fbx files.
Gate Aug 28, 2021 @ 5:22pm
@Slaghkre

May I have your permission to reuse your models, and publish a modified version of concrete blocks? I have a private (local) copy with modified textures, and updated xmls.
SledgeHammer43 Mar 4, 2021 @ 5:07am
could you please remove the sound of hallow steel when moving across the blocks? A reinforced Concrete Armor does have the same sound as hard rock.
Belfontan Jan 16, 2021 @ 6:15pm
My favorite concrete block mod!
Very cheap, but heavy components. Easy to produce, but difficult to weld because of its volume/weight.

Best blocks for base building, especially for landing pads if thruster damage is enabled and ONLY if you have a welding ship. Otherwise you will need dozens of tripsfor a small pad.

But the ballance between effort and weight or volume is ok, at least for me.

Thank you!

Anyone ever see bouncing of vehicles on blocks during or after getting to 100%?
1x5
5x5 blocks

using them to build a runway on a rover / plane world, and noticing some funny shifting of the vehicles parked even with no one else on the DS.
Grat Dalton Nov 28, 2020 @ 7:41pm
1x3 bug.
Select 1x3 concrete block & when placing block it is 1x5.
I use Dragon Industries - Expanded Ore Processing mod.
Sauze Jun 28, 2020 @ 8:35pm
@Albino Waffle The concrete slab needs to queued up in an assembler, not a basic assembler. It requires gravel to craft.
Lard Ass Jun 10, 2020 @ 1:42pm
How do you make the concrete slab material?
meRlinX_AT May 27, 2020 @ 11:51am

Love these, use them all the time!

Do you think you might be able to create this as a 'skin' to work on all blocks, similar to the 'digital camo' or 'wood' blocks?

If this is not possible, please could you make some extra different shaped blocks?

Many thanks in advance.
:)
helios1979 Mar 15, 2020 @ 7:20am
any future plans to change from "blockvariants" to "block groups"
Dzimentar Feb 8, 2020 @ 4:13am
Please, finish Build stage models...
Kam Solastor Jan 19, 2020 @ 12:20pm
Any planned support for skins by chance? :D
Zierk Jan 2, 2020 @ 2:50pm
Why is this not part of the vanilla game? Nice idea to use all that stone :D
Burstar Dec 8, 2019 @ 11:07am
While at it, to fix the instant depressurization if you touch the block with grinder issue, change the values for the final stages of all the blocks " <Model BuildPercentUpperBound= 1 >New Value > 2nd stage value File="*"/>
Burstar Dec 8, 2019 @ 10:18am
To fix the invisible Round Inverted block texture change line 831 of Concrete_CubeBlocks.sbc to:
<CubeTopology>InvCorner</CubeTopology> <!-- Original: RoundInvCorner -->
VS-lockon Oct 8, 2019 @ 9:15am
you mod have a bug if you in creative and you place a 1b3 block down and delete it if next a vanilla it make the vanilla invisible
Crazival Oct 6, 2019 @ 1:17pm
Love concrete floor in game. not sure what happened but since few days I have started sinking through the concrete blocks. I could be to do with the Keen update. Gwaitûr could you look into it. We have massive base with concrete floors all over it.. it will kill us to replace it back to steel. Also I would love to get 3x1 and 4x1 ramps in concrete... 2x1 a bit to steep IMO we have mod which add steel ramps up to 5x1 which is really great. Thanks for great mod. I wish concrete blocks could be part of vanilla game.
Narg Sep 20, 2019 @ 4:24pm
The round inverted corner currently has one side invisible, I can see the background through the inverted corner and one of the adjacent sides. Otherwise, I love how the blocks look.
PeterRabbit Sep 17, 2019 @ 10:56am
Well, the integrity to mass ratio of concrete slabs is lower than steel plates, and because kinetic energy is proportional to mass, when you shoot a block the ratio of kinetic energy to total integrity is less for concrete blocks than for metal blocks and therefore the concrete block will lose.

It's simple physics.
MisterMann Sep 15, 2019 @ 10:46am
Also i should add, yet weighs slightly a bit more than a heavy armor block.
MisterMann Sep 15, 2019 @ 10:41am
I just did a silly shooting test to see the durability of the blocks and realized that these are more flimsier than the light blocks, why is that?
maverick Sep 7, 2019 @ 1:25pm
when making concrete slab the sim speed drops to 0.03 and the ups to 1 this create lag hop that you can fix it
Slaghkre  [author] Sep 4, 2019 @ 6:42pm
Well it's not cement. :)
Dr Fraud Aug 29, 2019 @ 3:01pm
Would Concrete be logically available in a Basic Assembler? Even on a waterless/airless moon?
Is it Concrete or a fused stone product? If it's fused then a full Assembler as it is now seems appropriate.
Zero_Sum_Outcomes Aug 22, 2019 @ 7:36pm
Hello,

'Stone Refining Re-Balance' will fix the issue of not getting enough gravel without needing to install another block mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1690575357
PeterRabbit Aug 11, 2019 @ 8:58am
They did as part of the change where refining stone gives basic other materials in addition to some gravel. A simple tweak to make that give more gravel should resolve the issue.
Slaghkre  [author] Aug 11, 2019 @ 1:35am
idk if they reduced the stone gained since I last balanced it. I thought it seemed good back then. This mod seems to be getting further out of date and I'm not finding the time to work on any mods.
PeterRabbit Aug 4, 2019 @ 4:41pm
@Sabrewulf the amount of gravel needed is realistic. The issue is that refining stone into gravel gives dramatically less gravel than it should.
Sabrewulf Aug 4, 2019 @ 12:51pm
@gwaitûr
Can you greatly reduce gravel needed for each slab?
I'm building a cinlindrical underground base mining with multiple drills spinning at 5 pistons expanding, i mined ~50% of pistons lenght and it only gave me stone for ~3,5 floors (without walls).
I think the volume mined "x³" vs the area builded "x²" math is clearly wrong (by Keen), concrete is not worthing more than iron for building volume, making it pointless for logistic and for build cheap/weak.
So summing up: for build 1 toothpick i'm spending 1 baseball bat mining area.

I just too a look on steam files and they are also purple there, so it's not problem with game but rather steam workshop compatibility. They are placed in Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\244850\303959338\Textures\GUI\Icons\Cubes

https://i.imgur.com/2tMuInD.png

I also tried downloading it directly but it is not possible to directly download steam archive. By using {LINK REMOVED} I got archive with the same purple textures. Either dds export settings are wrong or steam workshop messed something up.
Tanis May 20, 2019 @ 7:25am
how?
Malignant May 19, 2019 @ 10:05pm
I fixed it.
Slaghkre  [author] May 19, 2019 @ 6:52pm
I haven't figured out the texture thing yet, but I also haven't been putting any time into figuring it out. :\
Annonymous May 11, 2019 @ 4:31pm
Has this been causing issues in Dedicated Servers?

I'm running mods, but when I add this one, it causes the server to crash. Take it back out, server runs fine with other mods.
Malignant May 6, 2019 @ 6:46pm
I'm seeing the concrete block textures fine, but the metal frame is showing up pink. It links to light_armor_construction but I can't find that that file.
-₪EPIC₪- Fail Apr 15, 2019 @ 5:07pm
If you guys decompress the mod into a folder you don't get the purple models, it works the way it should.

FYI: My mod is no longer being maintained. You may want to change the URL to point to the mod Reika has.
