The designers do apply. If you hover over the equipment it will show the designer, they just don't show up because of they aren't a MIO.

Theres a but with the mod where i cant add designers on any eqquipment but it just shows an empty mio symbol even when disableing the dlc. Basically the designers dont apply to anything

but there is a problem I haven't found a solution for: how do you make the design company appear on the equipment (in the production interface)?
I tried to somehow add the old interface but I had no success
the only way of seeing if an equipment has a designer applied is to hover over it and check "Designed by ..."
do you think it's possible to add the old interface back? (where a small circle with the company icon can be seen on the applied equipment)

just copy it from this mod, you should figure it out

how did you manage to remove the MIOs? i want to make a mod where old company designers are used and that disable MIO
