Howdy! I made a mod for personal use, not uploaded or shared anywhere, using textures from this mod. Could I get your permission to upload it to the workshop, giving you credit in whatever form you like, or making it a required dependency. Whatever you prefer. I would like to use this mod on 1.6 but the mod doesn't work, I tried to patch it myself but i only managed to fix the ancient artificial skin not showing up. I hope this mod gets an update soon

Hey, i used to love using this mod back in 1.5, but it doesn't work in 1.6 (the options straight up don't appear in menus). Are you planning to update the mod to work in 1.6 at all?

this is just a reskin, if you want to change their recipe you can make a patch to change the cost of an android to whatever you want

Is it possible to either change the core to a highsubcore or destroy the scanned pawns brain? Always felt the androids needed to be a bit more expensive and i didn't get any answers from the original mod page

With XVC - Xenotypes mod can make a bio-mechanic xenotype. This skins is so missing to that =/

So uh, I downloaded this mod and it's not appearing at all in the android editor for me and I'm not really sure why (neither does it appear in the normal genes editor as it was previously mentioned in a bug down in the comments) I do have other mods that adds more hardwares and the such for androids and they all seem to work fine, this is the only one that appears to just not show up at all in the editor.

Good news, after some tinkering around I've discovered that the conflict was in fact RimPy's autosort system. Apparently it loads this mod before VRE - Androids, thus making the genes not register as hardware. Apologies for the inconvenience :missing: .

The hardware this mod adds does not appear in the android editor, but it does appear in the gene editor. Will provide logs and the modlist if need to be.

They are able to wear armor, I'm not adding any innate armor to them unless I make a sequel.

Might i suggest a bit of armour to the mechandroid shell. I like to use these as my warbots while the regular synthetic skin is my general worker droids.

@ParasiticSquid nah its all one body and head and separating them would make it more awkward for all those not using facial animations. I'd say try it and see if it works, I'll try to think of a solution.

Haven't tried the mod yet but figured I would couple things before installing it: Is there currently a way to have the mechanoid body but still keep a human head so mods like vanilla textures expanded facial animations can do it's magic? If not how about a mechanoid head variant that's similar to the vanilla face so that can be added by others later while still keeping the mechanoid theme

@Reggie it should be in the Hardware section at the bottom and that is definitely it's name, double check to make sure you have the mod enabled. That's all I can think of.

While disappointing to hear not many changes can yet be done to the mechanoid head, holy heck, finally; another mod to bring in inhuman looking robots, even with that limitation. And this might be the only/main reason why I finally got that VRE Android mod that looked fun.

@Sigil I had initially planned to use the Lancer head, but unfortunately the shapes of other mechanoid heads don't conform well to the humanoid head shape, I went with this head shape because it fits with as many "headwear" as possible where as other variations would likely stick out or look weird when interacting with modded headgear, helmets, facial wear, etc
