I loved New City, I was wondering about the source code, thank goodness they published it, I was so happy with New City, until the devs just abandoned it, sick and tired of these half baked games being pushed out, for CS2 it plays and looks like an early alpha. If Colossal said this is our CS2 version 0.0.9 I would have said ♥♥♥♥ yes!!! sorry to rant this brought up angry memories, my only hope is the discord folks can resurrect such a gem.

I guess someone needs to say there is still space for NewCity to come in after the rocky launch of C:S 2.

The developers just released all the source code for NewCity! Some of the guys in the Discord seem to have already started work :D

we dont want a competitor,for cities 2 that will be so good it can beaten to many modders are working with them to make the game every one ever wanted there is no studio that can over produce it cities 2 will make full use of new unity engine cant beat that with am5 and 4K gaming it will be epic

Yeah, I checked NewCity....And ummm, SimCity 4 has a better chance at a reboot than NewCity being any amount of competition

It's strange that CS never really had any kind of competition.

Hey, I was one of the developers on NewCity from about late 2019 to late 2021. I composed Chance of Rain, The Doozie, Tourist Trap, Suburban Moonrise (which was an incomplete demo), and Logging In. Hopefully some of these songs get a new lease on life providing the backdrop for your cities in CS. Enjoy :)

Had the game on my wishlist and was waiting for it to be formally released, really disappointed to see a while back it was basically abandoned. I never got to actually try it but it looked really promising.
