I'm glad I added a small part on Angry's HUGE mod. It has got lots of content... and still on development
Try to take a jukebox and plant it on your base to start party dancing!

Hey!
Thank you for quick response!
I'm currently using the new version (Angry's Lifestyle)
Thank you for such a nice mod!
CristoElMago  [author] Feb 24, 2024 @ 1:15pm
@Lurnuss the new version gives a metal peace buff that makes you harder to be frighten, it scales with meditation level.
Go download Angry's Lifestyle mod, as this mod was an early access for current official version
Do not use this mod unless you are using a previous version of Lifestyle
Lurnuss Feb 24, 2024 @ 1:08pm
Hey, mate!
What does meditation level 10 buff do?
Absolute peace
CristoElMago  [author] Feb 6, 2024 @ 6:58pm
It only cut off hunger, do not feed you... you'll be losing weight, just don't feel hungry.
It's good to get rid of obese negative perk. It will lower weight.
If you're using last version of Lifestyle you don't need this mod, it is included on newer ver.
ZeroFoxGiven Feb 6, 2024 @ 1:48pm
does the meditation give you calories to actually sustain a character or does it just fend off hunger? better question, how long can you sustain yourself purely off meditating?
CristoElMago  [author] Jan 31, 2024 @ 3:35pm
Right!
Description has been changed to say it's not need with the newest update
I'll be keeping this here anyways for those who uses previous version
v8o1 Jan 31, 2024 @ 2:05pm
the friend told me he found it it already has feeding now. so yah, he turned this mod off to fix it.
CristoElMago  [author] Jan 31, 2024 @ 1:11pm
I'll talk to Angry, he's done a new update (check jukebox-dance, they're awesome)
As this mod was made as an early update, maybe he included the feed in the new version
v8o1 Jan 31, 2024 @ 1:02pm
Thanks for looking into it. It could be just the garbage pile mods my friends put together not liking each other but always good to check. If it is just this i hope it gets fixed. if not I'll just slowly go through the mess that is my friend's mod collection and figure it out and come back to tell if it's a mod incompatibility thing.
CristoElMago  [author] Jan 31, 2024 @ 12:45pm
@v8o1 Thanks for noticing. I'll take a look at it
v8o1 Jan 31, 2024 @ 12:39pm
idk if this mod bugs out meditation in singleplayer or my singleplayer is just bugged with meditation but meditation just instantly maxes my strees doesn't fix it at all. it works fine in multiplayer though. a friend told me it does the same to his singleplayer game.

@Ryu Meditation on original lowers stress and pain, something like if you smoke a cig and take a painkiller, but it does that on a long time meditating.
This mod feeds and hydrate slowly and also let you meditate while using bags when you are over level 2 meditation.
We are still fixing and balancing the rates, does it feed/hydrate you enough, too low or too much? All feedback is appreciated. Thank you

*yeah it's very good for away-from-civilization games, however the main idea is to extend meditation sessions w/o being interrupted by hunger/thirst
(also IRL meditation masters testify they feed from energy during meditation, so this make the mod more realistic)
(but it won't nourish you so be sure to get some food, from time to time, to raise weight)
Ryu Jul 10, 2023 @ 6:33pm
Since the Lifestyle devs stupidly hid the comments I'll ask here, does meditation from the original mod even do anything?

*love the mod btw it's extremely useful on wilderness playthroughs.

Oh yea! That could work surely!
A "Monk" profession and/or trait that gives several bonus upon meditation...
Thanks!
Princess abby Apr 25, 2023 @ 11:28pm
yeah i was thinking more along the lines of a monk like from dialbo or something that could add buffs and damage and what not it would open up the pathway to a fantasy like RPG in the game where there can be different class's and what not :P.
CristoElMago  [author] Apr 25, 2023 @ 10:57pm
As for the "real-simulation" is the highest target to achieve, meditating should not give buffs for more damage. It doesn't feel like it...
But yeh, maybe a buff for reducing panic. Maybe a "too small" buff to the nearby allies.
i.e. reduces 20% panic to self and 5% to ally in a 100m radius

If you happen to think about a buff or adding that would fit in a realistic meditation that'll be nice.
Also for the music part of the mod. It is already polished and works fine to reduce panic and such, but if you experiment with it and something comes up :)
Princess abby Apr 25, 2023 @ 8:28pm
That sounds like a great idea what you suggested yeah that could work in fact you could do addons or updated to this and expand on it in form of meditation books that focus on unlocking new skills in terms of buffs like you just suggested thats good idea.

A defence buff / attack buff / focus buff for sharper shooting or buff to make you be able to run faster or longer or both, the possibilitys are endless thats really good idea you have.

I look forward to see where your creatively leads you as its always nice to see creative minds expanding further on the things that can be done so well done and all means take your time with your work as the good things come to the ones who wait as they say :D.

And of course i'd like that buff moodle idea for sure any addition to this mod is more then welcome :).
CristoElMago  [author] Apr 25, 2023 @ 7:25pm
Yes this mod is made for checking the rates and thus also is open to new addings
It will be included in the new update, at that moment I'll simply unpublic this to prevent malfunctioning.
So now is the testing ground!

Meditation heals the wounds?
Yea maybe... we want the meditation skill to be balanced, not "a must" but something useful if you decide to invest your points on it.

I'm thinking to add a moodle for meditation, for it to cause you gain less panic during some time after meditation. Would you like that?
It's like: 1hour meditation => gain a 2 hours buff to reduce panic income for 20%

Feel free to share new ideas if you'd like meditation to do something else.
Princess abby Apr 25, 2023 @ 2:41pm
yeah thats true but i really do like seeing people expanding ideas and making any and all stuff that expands the game in many ways like this mod could have more added to it in the future like doing meditation in your safe house.

Could heal you if you badinage up and at 50% hp doing meditation could slowly heal your health bar a % over X amount of time and increases to a higher % over a shorter time but end result to max meditation would have a decent % say 35% max every 2 minutes but the lowerest could be.

5% every 5 minutes and every time you gain a skill point it cuts down 35 seconds and incress then % gained by X amount per skill level :).

Regardless you opened a can of worms with this mod so it will be fun to see how far it can go.
CristoElMago  [author] Apr 25, 2023 @ 12:26pm
This mod started to be something similar to "Exercise with gear" for meditation to not unequip your bags.
Now it is something "secondary" for the most "attention drawing" is the new feature of feeding.
While I was playing I saw the meditation skill is okay but lacked of realism. I'm master meditator and I know this would happen to a high level meditator, but a person who start meditating will not notice because it is "feeding" you a low quantity. So this is more for a long-term game since is at level 9 you will feed a substantial quantity, therefore it has no high impact on the gameplay: at long games you will have enough food and drinks...
I'm sure this can seem strange to you if you're not a master meditator hehehe
Princess abby Apr 25, 2023 @ 7:23am
ah okey bit odd bit confusing to wrap my head around it haha but sure XD odd mod but its good to see strange mods no less keep up the good work :D
CristoElMago  [author] Apr 22, 2023 @ 5:38am
@Deon Thank you! Also thanks to Angry that approved and helped a lot with the changes :)

This makes meditation more valuable and usable, as you will raise level faster (until level 4) and lets you meditate longer because you don't have to eat as much as usual.
Good luck reaching level 9 or 10, where the feeding is positive (meaning you would gain -10% hunger per meditated hour)
Deon ☣ Apr 22, 2023 @ 1:40am
Ah, as long as it doesn't increase calories or nutrition, it makes total sense.

Basically you slow down or slowly decrease your "feeling of hunger", because that's what "hunger" meter in Zomboid is, while your body still loses weight unless you eat something real.

It's a VERY clever usage of game mechanics, bravo CristoElMago
CristoElMago  [author] Apr 21, 2023 @ 12:22pm
@we will miss you telina the mod will feed only at very high level.
At level 2 you start "feeding" but the feed is so slow that you will only notice your hunger is not raising so much as normally. You will start raise the food level in level 9 and 10, and still is a very slow feed. Also you don't get nutrition, so if you don't eat real food in a while you will start losing weight.
We wanted to make it more realistic. Worldwide known meditators has said that they feed from energy in meditation, but don't expect a low level meditator to be such good...
Princess abby Apr 20, 2023 @ 11:19pm
this is a big strange i will admit i just cross my legs and go ummmm and i get fed by energy? o.O.

Or am i reading this wrong? XD but nether the less any extra sim like mods are welcome in my books its just a odd one i must say and odd one in deed :)
