So this was working great for me. I just made a new lumberjack in Rosewood with the conspicuous perk (notnsure if it's relevent). But now any time zombies spawn in a house, rhen keep respawning in front of my eyes over and over every time I kill a zombie and rush right for me.

I’ll update the mod sometime this week. I need to investigate some of the issues that were reported in B41 and see if I can do anything about them in B42.

Did some testing today: The old spawning mechanics are still in the unstable B42. You still need to have line of sight into a building and be close enough for it to finally spawn in zombies on the inside. Zombie distribution seems to have been overhauled, though, purely by going off of vibes. I'm going to hold off for a stable release before I decide to pop open the code though and read through.

A shame. Was really hoping they would address this issue. Maybe they'll address it in the stable release.

I’m not sure. I’m hoping they did fix it, or if they haven’t, that they’ll fix it for the stable release. I’ll test building spawn behavior sometime and report back when I do.

I downloaded this and unfortunately it causes lag on my machine in LV due to high zed spawn rates that apparently my mac can't handle. However, when i turn the mod off in the settings menu, now i have no zombies spawning inside at all. Which honestly is kind of a blessing in LV but it feels like cheating haha

zombie spawn to lot even in the oustides, making it impossible to have a good game... its like you kill a horde of 12 zombies walk in the quarter and its one more hord of 20 zombies just in the door of your home

bad performance hit . if u walk around in LV zombies will spawn in the big buildings and the whole game will lag because 200+ zombies are spawned in a building . they probably coded it this way so the game will be more manageable in high dense areas. Sadly have to remove from my server

I noticed that everytime i have this mod downloaded, alot more zombies will spawn, so watchout people who like to use guns or like to scream in public bathrooms as a prank.

I have an issue with this mod, running a server with zombie respawning turned on and this mod enabled, zombies will respawn in my safehouse, inside the room I'm standing in (this has happened like 3 times by now, it's a miracle my character is still alive lol), I just tried uninstalling this mod from the server, and no zombies spawned in my safehouse this time when I logged in.
(PS: I am removed from my faction and safehouse and have to claim it again every time I log out and in again, any idea what's causing this? (It probably doesn't have anything to do with the mod I'm guessing, but it's still a little annoying and I'm desperate for answers!))

This mod is a replacement to Ducks' Zombie Building Spawn Fix.
It adds the same improvement but with less drawbacks, see details below.

Please, please please. You need to make the mod detect a player inside the building and NOT spawn zombies in said building.

I've had to start playthroughs with this disabled because it will spawn me in with 3-5 zeds already grabbing me. Is there any way to make sure they aren't spawning on top of you before you even load in?

Absolute must have mod. Its a shit mechanic. Zombies literaly dont exist in buildings until you go in. I lost 3 month char when i went inside a shed after breaking down door and thinking that if there was zombies in there they would hear me harassing the handle and then smashing the door with fire axe. Bullshit.

Thank you so much. I found it to be so annoying that i could blast off a shotgun in the middle of rosewood until they stopped coming only to find there are still zombies all over the place unless i walked around the entire town while shooting. I think this mod will fix the problem.

This mod is spawning zombies inside the STARTER house, when using the Westpoint Gated Community map. Like, right next to the character in the first 5 seconds of game.

Does this mod re-enable zombie respawn even if you've disabled that for your playthrough? I've suddenly had zombies appearing inside my base despite me having respawn and player construction damage set to off (i.e. so there's no way they should be in there as they shouldn't be able to respawn in and they can't break in).

If anyone has problems with starting a game and being immediately eaten by zombies before you can even move, which is a side effect of this mod, you can solve it by giving yourself 1 hour of spawn leeway with the Start Apocalypse Time mod.

Great synergy between the two mods.

As The Professor said, zombies will spawn in houses where YOU spawn and there is nothing you can do, just die and make another game, it really sucks so i will wait until this mod really works and the player spawn house doesn't spawn zombies. :steambored:

Unfortunately, this mod sometimes causes you to spawn zombies in the same room you spawn.

Opened a garage after clearing a horde with a machine gun. Should of heard something, banging, moaning, anything. Boom! 5 zombies in my ass and i'm swarmed.

I was reading a book and watching some TV when a zombie suddenly spawned in the middle of the living room, right next to t he couch I was sitting on. I didn't get hurt but it's safe to say I'll be keeping this off for the time being

Everyone, there is a fixed version of this mod called "Wake Them Up". Zombies spawning in your spawn is fixed, and it only spawns zombies for one building per cycle, fixing the performance impact of this mod.

1- Server restarts and zombies just respawn inside buildings...
2- Spawns now include zombies, good luck if you are like me and run runners and have half your team being unable to spawn in high pop

I just had two houses in starts spawn with zomgbies in them, one -right beside me- So yeah, This needs to wait until after the player has spawned to start doing its version of the ch eckks if possible, that way the starting house won't spawn zombies in there right beside you...Like, the mod needs a delay to when it switches to the mods version of it.

tested something, used the mod spawned in a Louisville area, zombies in building. made an entire new world without the mod, the same thing happened. i think unless its an area the devs had originally wanted as a safe place to start then there is gonna be a chance of zombies, but ive also had zombies spawn in the normal spawn areas both with and without the mod so i think sometimes maybe PZ just wants to spawn the zombies before it checks the players location? or maybe im completely wrong and you all just wasted time reading this for nonsense, oh well back to Ghosts of Tabor in VR.

"This happens on Vanilla too. Building zombies are not adjusted by the advanced population modifiers. They're instead adjusted by the actual zombie population modifier of "None, Low, Normal" etc etc - from my understanding on the code zombies will still spawn in buildings even if it's set to None but there might be some other fail safe that stops zombies from spawning in that scenario."
