for us slower dedicated server admins, it would be nice if there was a better explanation for these numbers:

I'm in the same camp as Sterlok and even with poor vision they can still spot you in an open field, I wanted this mod to work so in fog if I can't see them they definitely can't see me.

I'm confused, is this supposed to work by default? I see in the settings it's set to give the zombies poor sight only when "pitch black" out? Except pitch black nights are not on by default. I was wondering since zombies seem to spot me from just as far away during the night.

I always use poor sight for zombies, so this mod would be useless for me right? Would love to have even "blinder" zeds at night or at fog

We need one zombie mod to rule them all tbh. There are about 20 different ones that do roughly the same thing. For both devs (ease through a shared git as long as there's a vision which there undoubtedly is) and users (ease of use, faster updates, better performance and features + whatever qol). Is there any effort made to do this?

I looked in previous comments to be sure but I can't find an exact answer. Does this mod and Definitive Zombies mod conflict with each other?

To anyone wondering about this mod playing with Long Night, the Long Night is only essentially a darkener. The game does not consider day time with that mod as actual night, so this mod still does nothing for daytime hours. Use a mod for permanent weather to make it always foggy if you want 24/7 cover. Night Sprinters allows you to determine what hours night/day start at, but whether that functions ONLY for that mod for sprinters at night/rain remains untested.

Option to make them blind would be really nice, and I think it should be possible to check if a player in the vicinity has a flashlight or a hand torch equipped so you can revert changes when it's detected

@andrewlgreen003 I don't play with permanent nights, but the zombies in my world doesnt see well in nighttime / fog so the mod should work in a world without daylight or light

Can you add a feature in the next update to reduce the auditory abilities of zombies when it's raining? It would be cool to take advantage of their dulled hearing and go zombie hunting during rain.

How does this work if you have zombie sight to to Poor already? I know it overrides the settings, can we still have it so zombie sight is poor during the day even more worse with this mod? I'd like to play with it for my story playthrough

I thought the developers added this mechanic by default for night and fog, but now it's clear to me why the dead thing still notices the player for a kilometer in conditions of haze or pitch darkness. Useful modification, thanks for it. :bleach::spiffo:

I am not sure whether this mod is functioning correctly. Zombies are capable of detecting me in heavy fog and thunderstorms.

The "Did it see you?" check does happen very often, to the point of Inconspicuous being barely noticable as a Trait, if you're in a line of sight of a zombie it's safe to assume it noticed you

(Though it does still seem a bit weak or like the "did it see you?" check is happening too often for that vision difference to be relevant in vanilla.)

Zed's still detect me in pitch darkness with high sneaking skills + stealth trait. Poor vision seems broken atm.

This mod really doesn't seem to do much. There needs to be a setting to make zombies blind at night because even setting their sight to poor at night seems to just do nothing at all.
