I dove in the wonders file in notepad++ and in the potential section it seems that it's just the vanilla behaviour with an added section so that some cultures can build them at any point. Not sure if this is only on my end but I wanted to mention it.
PS: I added the line "ai = no" to the potential to fix this for me but if it's something that's widespread, It might be worth looking into it.
One question, though: has anyone else encountered the "spelljamming" mechanic? Does it end by itself after some time or are you stuck? It mentions a decision to 'steer' it or go home, but I can't find that anywhere.
Is this intentional or a bug?
2) We'd need more specifics - vanilla republics are largely inaccessible because everywhere that could have one becomes either an MR or a Commonwealth instead. If you're expecting an MR and got a Commonwealth, it's probably because they're not coastal.
I chose to click the Master of Undeath decision because that Attrition decrease is so helpful dealing with the nearby tribes and the starting retinue size bonus is nice. I also saw that the Feeding decision only boosts fertility by 998? when the fertility malus of a default vampire is 1000, which tricked me into thinking it was bugged
Yeah I saw that "pay your troops 50 coins" decision, my issue is that it isn't guaranteed to always work, even if I have great plot defense rating and/or intrigue skill.
I have a suggestion: Why not restrict the event to only firing for counts? Meanwhile, duke and king level Vampires instead have to deal with the "Exterminate Abomination" cb being available for use against them by the "Good Faiths"? To balance it out, maybe Vampire dukes and kings who follow an "Evil Religion" can get a decision with a 10 year cooldown to summon a non-reinforcing mercenary band of monsters, 1500 strong?
Vampires are in fact the only undead able to sire/bear their own children, as they become fertile for a period after taking the 'feed on blood' decision. However, you're right that the 'foster a child' decision ought to be producing living adoptees, not undead/dhampyr ones. The kobold, oddly enough, was probably correct as a feature of the diversity system for new characters.
The vampire hunter event chain is brand new, and we appreciate the suggestions. For characters with enough cash on hand, there is already the option to have the hunter 'taken care of' quietly.
Also, could there be more ways to halt Vampire Hunters before they confront me? Stuff like paying my spymaster to do it more efficiently and quietly in exchange for a favor, or paying my marshal some hard cash to go all out and burn the inn where the vampire hunters are staying (which decreases county tax and increases revolt risk)
Yes, if you grant that vassal a coastal province they have a good chance of switching to be a MR. Or, you can console into the vassal, change them to an MR through a decision, and then console back to your character/the liege and continue on.
The fault was on my part, not with the mod. I was using the "AI custom kingdoms and empires" mod wich is meant to make the AI's costs for creating new kingdoms and empires the same as the player's. Yours is the very first mod with which it has had any problems. Regardless, I should have first checked for mod conflicts before posting my comments, so I apologise for wasting you time.
