I use a mod that adds NineTailedFox Tails and to grow all nine tails it requires the pawn to hit 26. If I wanted to them age normally till they hit that age would it be safe to just change all instances of 13 to 26 and all instances of 22 to 27 in the patch file?

Was not very smart for Tynan to make it 18 instead of 22 or something similar, but i can honestly understand the oversight especially considering the large DLC update it came out during.

This bug is patched in the rimworld dev build. Aging now stops at 18.5

Oohhhh. If I may make a request, I'd love a version of this that stopped at 25, since that's the round about age that our brains finish fully developing I think it would make sense as a desired stopping point.

So instead of growth rate starting to slow down while they're still arguably a child (Even though rimworld classifies them as an adult at 13), the growth rate slowdown would start at 18, when they're already a legal adult.

Tempted to make the curve start at 18 as opposed to 13. Will probably see it in an update within a day or 2.

@seabornebook tbf, that's when you are physically in your prime, from there onward it's all downhill, you wouldn't be "legally" 17-22, just physically so considering backpain and wakeup pains, I'd take it in a heart beat XD

Aging (e.g. cell degradation etc.) and growing up are different things.

Since the Unaging Gene stops pawns from aging but it doesn't stop pawns from growing up it would realistically age them up to the appearance of a 20-something, while probably having cells indicating they have an age of 0.

I think this mod makes a lot of sense.

If anything I'd be tempted to dial it up to 30 so the immortals don't keep wanting to date 18-year olds. If anything I feel like most immortals would lean towards dating those who are closers to their own age and experience.

i probably worded that badly. i mean it like have an additonal version thats just an addition alongside this one being a replacement.

as for why: simply for storytelling options like having different generation of sanguophages trigger ageless at different ages.

if youre fine with pawns dating biological minors then you dont need to subscribe. im bothered by it, so i made the mod. as it turns out, im not the only one bothered by it.

it doesnt even have to be about the romance aspect of it. some modded genes require your pawn to be 18 to be activated. this fixes that too.

The vanilla game addressed this years ago. Biological age and chronological age are tracked separately. Ageless pawns don't biologically age. Time still passes. They still gain skills, they still live their lives. A vampire who has been alive for 300 years is not a minor just because they don't have to deal with biological degradation. You want to see something weird, look at the biological age acceleration, that's the real issue. Heck, there's an alleged 11 year old in my colony whom the game admits is actually 2 and a half. Natural birth, natural childhood. Another pawn turns "18" in a few days, except she's only been alive for 13 years. 5500 is nothing like the world we live in.

currently, there is a modifier that changes romance chance based on age, but its based on relative age. I don't think it does anything when considering whether or not they're a minor and adult.

@Pheace that would prevent minors from getting in relationships with each other. and I'm not talented enough/done enough research to code something that would make it so adults will not romance minors. at least with this, the minor will eventually become an adult.

Shouldn't this mod like... change the romanceable age rather than the ultimate biological age if that's the big concern here? If you let them to their own devices you'll have a grand-grandmother with kids long before they reach Bio 20...

Yet most definition of age have something close to "the period of time someone has been alive or something has existed"("a period of human life, measured by years from birth", "the length of an existence extending from the beginning to any given time"), which means that this mod makes no difference in the face of the law. So yes, even living in a few places that the age of consent is 18, it would still be legal.

your whole argument fell apart when you said 'most'. The fact of the matter is, its illegal somewhere. just don't play with this mod if you want to date minors

Not only is it legal in most of america, it's legal in most parts of europe, in a bunch of asian countries and in mots of africa. And also, once we reach the point of people not ageing the law would have to mention them, because it would be dumb if someone who is a child forever could never do anything that an adult can, even if they are older.

@For the Jerusalem I would suggest that you educate yourself. Namely on 'age of majority' and 'statutory rape'.

It might be legal where you live, but it is not legal everywhere, and it certainly isn't legal on the internet.

Personally, I'm not comfortable with an eternally 17 year old dating a 38 year old. But maybe that's just me.
