@Nim Well, the vats do keep it preserved and in the pipe network so it can be accessed instantly from anywhere in your base
Nim Apr 25 @ 1:02am
From the surface, I don't really see the point of the nutrient paste vats. Two shelves occupying a 2x2 space can hold up to 120 nutrient paste meals, so it seems like the vat should be able to hold at least as many. Maybe if the vat only took up a 1x1 space it would be worth building.

I can't see the hidden pipes anywhere in the build menu even with god mode enabled despite it being present on the research screen
SuwinTzi Apr 18 @ 4:42pm
Hello, could we have an over wall version of the Nutrient Paste Tap?

I typically use them in prisons and it's a weakpoint that lets everyone out if destroyed. If I place it inside of the prison itself it takes up too much space and defeats the purpose of being able to act as a wall.
Kotori Apr 12 @ 8:47pm
There are hidden pipes in the mod already
Ssjx7squall Apr 9 @ 11:57am
Dumb question, but is there a patch for hidden pipes? you probably get asked this all the time and sorry about that...

Is there any way to select what kind of nutrient paste gets dispensed at the feeders? I'm trying to have it supply my farm and my war animals. But it keeps dispensing randomly from the tanks. So I end up with meat paste in my farm and vegetarian with my wolves. Also ive found that if there aren't enough of a specif type of paste in the storage it will still try to keep the stack size but end up throwing out errors and spitting it onto the floor around it instead. I had to lower stack size to 1 to avoid this issue.
Ryanisunique107 Apr 5 @ 7:07pm
my nutrient paste grinder is only taking from one grinder
DeathDealer7266 Apr 4 @ 3:46pm
prisoners will not use the tap, that makes this pretty useless since that is the only thing i use nutrient paste for, prisoners.
Wyvern Apr 1 @ 11:05pm
Hi, amazing mod, i'm having a blast using it :)

There's a litte problem with the Nutrient Paste Dripper and it makes it useless most of the time.
The dripper feeds the patient when the food bar reaches 25% as it should but the wardens always try to feed the patients when the bar is around 30%. Becouse of this most of the time the Dripper isn't reaching the point where it actually feeds the patients becouse they already receved food by the wardens, which makes the Dripper useless when it happens.

It is very noticeble when you have many prisoners. I have 7 prisoners with no legs (So they are always in bed) and 4 wardens. It usually happens that only 3 are actually eating from the Drippers becouse 4 of them already receved food from the Wardens when their bar was higher. By the time it took the wardens to feed those 4, the other 3 already reached the 25% and they receved food from the Dripper.

A "Wall Dripper" would be nice. Something so that I don't have to have my beds effectively be 3 long instead of 2.

Also hidden paste pipes would be good as a mod option too. So that I can keep my colony clean looking :)
qwe5n Mar 26 @ 3:14am
@MercCaptain, just use the Ideology. With the transhumanist meme you can get rid of nutrient paste debuffs.
qwe5n Mar 26 @ 3:08am
@stups you can just use a nutrient paste feeder and extract 20 meals by clicking a button once per some time, it will work. Not automatically though, but it will.
stups Mar 23 @ 8:39am
Something that would help a lot in winters would a animal nutrient paste feeder
MercCaptain Mar 20 @ 6:56pm
Question, are you or would you consider adding flavors to make the paste slightly more palatable? I'd love some strawberry nutrient paste or some meat flavored nutrient paste that aren't like amazing but at the very least make pawns not want to blow their brains out.
ShadowDeer Mar 20 @ 2:23pm
does anyone possibly know why i can have hidden pipes? its not in the menu or when i interact with the pipe
Trf Mar 14 @ 8:20pm
No matter what I do with the stack size buttons of feeder, it always and only ever spits out stacks of 50, pls change
Brujah Mar 13 @ 6:50am
Are the taps meant to be used automatically or do we need to dispense them onto the ground manually? Animals won't eat from the tap even though its all hooked up correctly.
SteelPhoenix Mar 12 @ 11:39am
Would the dripper be able to have a setting to top people off in their sleep so they wake up with full nutrition? I feel like that could be useful for saving time in a comically workaholic colony
Jellicoe Cats Mar 11 @ 12:24pm
Can we have hidden paste pipes?
zloi_krendel Mar 9 @ 10:49pm
@Alu the CE is the best mod ever created. Its even better than the wall lamp it self. Its a god like mod, there will never be better mode than CE. After installing it i just dont understand WHY would you play with vannila fighting system. It feels so missarable when your pawn CANT shoot other pawn that is 2 tile away. HOLDING A SHOTGUN.
TNTsquid Mar 9 @ 12:53pm
Prisoners don't use the taps... Or maybe I'm doing something wrong IDK. Still a cool mod though.
AvRZaR Mar 3 @ 4:30am
@The Guy in Your Closet Thanks so freaking much. Just came to the workshop now to look for a alternative fix. Since no other pipes do this, I didn't even consider this an option.
Alu Feb 28 @ 5:29am
blame steam ce users for being dicks
GTurkistane(巨七) Feb 28 @ 4:49am
"Q: Does this work with Combat Extended?" LOL, i have been seeing many modders add this to their mod page due to how many people ask, even if it is just a hair mod
The Guy in Your Closet Feb 21 @ 4:35pm
@Chadramar There is, if I remember right, it's a secondary option you need to select under the normal pipe. Similar to how you can change materials for a piece of furniture
Chadramar Feb 16 @ 2:52pm
Is there a way to hide the pipes, or maybe a plan to add that feature?
TheVanguardKing Jan 30 @ 5:52pm
The nutrient paste dispenser starts to spill if the contents of the vat changes.

If the contents of the vat and the feeder are made from different ingredients, it will attempt to extrude another, and will place it next to the feeder because they can't stack.

Because it still doesn't have it's target number, it will attempt to dispense another and another, until the vat and feeder hold the same thing.

This can be avoided by setting the value of all feeders to 1
Insane Ruffles Jan 28 @ 8:05pm
When I turn the nutrient paste feeder on, it drains my vats completely. Doesnt matter if I only put the capacity to 5 meals
Randy Marsh Jan 28 @ 5:25am
Anyone know if this works with a deathcasket? I think it does through testing but somehow im also not sure...
blackrave Jan 27 @ 2:46pm
Yeah, game demanding hopper for tap is probably some leftover code from vanilla nutrient paste dispenser.
As long as tap is connected to paste network, it works though
StockSounds Jan 24 @ 4:40pm
I'm confused by the paste tap.

Supposedly it gives colonists paste, just like the feeders that I do understand, but without risk of animals taking it.
My confusion comes in with how it can need hoppers. I though hoppers were supposed to go onto the grinder, then the grinder is hooked up to a vat and whatever else you need, but the game yells at me saying that the tap needs hoppers, and the tap has the option to add hoppers built into it.
FizzyElf Jan 22 @ 4:43pm
ok so i found a weird bug. if you have hoppers feeding into the grinder then move the grinder, the game still considers them linked and the grinder can still pull from the hoppers. even if theyre not connected.
Alu Jan 18 @ 10:22pm
kikohi was this mods coder i recall
may not see a bug fix for a bit even if its properly reported till one of the other ve coders can get around to it
Thalia Jan 18 @ 8:16pm
For anyone looking, "feeder bug" still exists but you may not encounter it depending what ingredients you are using to make paste, as it appears to be caused when the ingredient mixture in the tank changes to something that would not stack with previous meals, causing newly extruded ones to be put on the ground and draining the entire tank.

As a workaround, make paste with only a single ingredient, or use a simple xml patch to remove ingredients entirely.
Large Hardon Collider Jan 17 @ 10:24pm
No feeder bug here. Super normal, put all kinds of things in there and it behaves as expected.
Except the part where my doctors try to manually feed them anyway the idiots.

Maybe change their allowed foods?
Robosium Jan 13 @ 6:01pm
has anyone had a bug where a hopper to the south of the grinder isn't like registered or something and the food in it isn't ground up?
FelipeGames2000 Jan 11 @ 6:19am
Feeder Dumping bug seems to only happen when the meal contains meat. Anything else makes it work fine. At least that's what's happening to me
blackrave Jan 9 @ 6:06am
A little trick if you keep making nutrient paste out of single ingredient (kibble or pemican for example)
You can add a bit of other ingredients to vat (2 or maybe more- not sure how much ingredients meals count exactly)
mostly it doesn't matter, but there are some special ingredients from mods that add special effects- like some honeys from Alpha Bees that give mood and health benefits.
So drop one meal worth of ingredient into the vat and as long as vat doesn't run out each new paste meal will recieve added benefits from ingredient. Genetic, Black, Performance and Psychotropic Honeys come to mind. Maybe Tasty too, but I'm not exactly sure)
(sadly condiments do not work- even ones that have nutrition, probably extra blacklisted))
Victor Jan 1 @ 11:18am
The dripper causes errors when a pawn that doesn't eat is connected to it, for example, someone with Body Mastery from the Anomaly DLC

Nutrient paste feeder is still broken. It worked fine for a while but then the "increase max stack size" button got randomly greyed out. Not sure how that happened. Restarting doesn't help.
ThimbleKnight Dec 15, 2024 @ 2:57pm
Could we get compatibility with Rimfridge? Since the fridges act like hoppers.
Guineatown20806 Dec 15, 2024 @ 12:55pm
Minor but very anoying bugs: 1. The tab keeps telling me to place a hopper next to it even though you can't even do that, it doesn't let you place a hopper next to it but continuesly tells you to place one. 2. When building a feeder you first can't increase the stored Paste only decrease, but after restarting your game or exiting and reloading the save you can increase it again. 3. This is probally due to it being capped at 50 and starting at 50 stored paste, which is really anoying since it immediantly grabs 50 paste out of the storage unless it isn't connected to the network. Please fix.
Atreidi Dec 14, 2024 @ 8:05am
Still broken?
Nanook Dec 12, 2024 @ 4:48am
can also confirm the feeder keeps dumping all of my vat content even though already set the stack limit on feeder. also the feeder stack limit can be decreased but cant increase ( greyed out )
Oleander Nov 26, 2024 @ 5:42am
The feeders bugging out is driving me nuts. I keep ending up with it dumping the entire network. seriously needs a fix...
Flat Nov 13, 2024 @ 3:08pm
Could you please add an option to limit the max amount of meals in storage? i'd like to feed animals using nutrient paste but i dont want my colonists dumping all of our food into the vat
sea Nov 12, 2024 @ 1:55pm
right click the pipe in the architect menu
G2H_HellBringer Nov 12, 2024 @ 10:51am
Is there a version with invisible or hidden pipes?
Diacherus Nov 7, 2024 @ 4:59am
Yeah, my feeders also started screwing up as well. They worked great for awhile and then started spitting out into adjacent squares. Had to switch to the tap to avoid having all of my stockpile rot (feeders weren't in a freezer).
