@Buddies in Paris I think this mod is now a base feature in B42 but, don't quote me on it

emiliosoto005 May 23 @ 11:09am
Please upgrade the version to b42.
Neidmare  [author] Apr 10 @ 12:37am
@Mantha yes it is. Will do.
Mantha Apr 9 @ 2:48pm
Is this compatible with multiplayer in B41? Please add this vital information to the description!
Monkey Magic Feb 26 @ 5:25am
As @Neidmere has already stated, it looks like Maintenance Improves Repair is obsolete in B42. With zero maintenance skill, it appears the item (baseball bats set at 1 health in this case) will either successfully restore it to peak condition, or break. Advancing in levels appears to increase the likelihood of success.

The amount of repair does not appear to vary, it's either break, or 100%

That said:

Not exactly the same as being incorporated into the game in this case, but a game making a mod obsolete is still an achievement

thanks and happy New Year
Neidmare  [author] Dec 31, 2024 @ 4:32pm
@Deathhead sure go ahead
Deathhead Dec 31, 2024 @ 2:51pm
Would it be alright if I add your mod to a modpack for a server I'm making?
Dihran Dec 29, 2024 @ 2:43am
@Neidmare oh, I see, maybe I'll just play without it and find out if it's still needed (I was going through my subscribed mods to see if they're compatible, but haven't played b42 yet)
Neidmare  [author] Dec 29, 2024 @ 2:09am
@Dihran I had a look, not sure I understand the new crafting system just yet. Maybe this mod is not needed in b42? Several recipes already had maintenance as a requirement.
Dihran Dec 29, 2024 @ 1:34am
No b42 yet?
Str1k3s Dec 26, 2024 @ 6:23pm
B42 plz!!!!!

@water enjoyer Dont know yet. Will report back on the weekend.
K5_05R Dec 18, 2024 @ 12:44pm
build 42 compatible?
Shpak The Wizard Nov 10, 2024 @ 11:06pm
thanks for replying, just wanted to bring you attention to this.
thanks for making the mod, outside of the bat thing it's great and should probably be in the base game.
Neidmare  [author] Nov 10, 2024 @ 7:11am
@Shpak The 5% are hard-coded in the java code of the game. Cant make this customizable.
Shpak The Wizard Nov 10, 2024 @ 4:45am
too OP with a baseball bat and a box of nails, please make it change from weapon to weapon instead of a flat +5%
I could not find any mod settings, if they are there I will customize it for myself

Great idea. Does anyone know if it affects Brita's guns?
Fluffy Aug 30, 2024 @ 9:37am
Dude, read the damn description, it doesnt add any new skills
Katana Aug 26, 2024 @ 10:46am
I do not have a new skill from the mod and when repairing nothing is not pumped, although the mod is enabled, can anyone say what could be the problem?
Monkey Magic Aug 21, 2024 @ 11:30am
I was curious as to how this works wood glue repair. Carpentry already has an effect on the potential repair with wood glue. So I wondered if this mod ignored wood glueremoved the carpentry buff, or something else. So I looked into it:

At level 0: wood glue states it has a 20% potential, but as it requires tier 2 carpentry, can not be used. At tier 2, the repair chance is now 50%.this increased to 75% at tier 7 where it maxes out regardless of increased carpentry skill.

With 0 carpentry skill, the maintenance skill buff will increase wood glue's potential by 5% per level, up to tier 5, where it caps at 45%. However, wood glue can still not be used without carpentry tier 2.

Therefore:

TIer 2 carpentry + Tier 1 maintence = 55% maxing at Tier 5 maintence for 75%
Tier 7 carpentry + Tier 1 maintence = 80% maxing at Tier 5 fmaintence for 100%

Great idea, makes sense👍
3AMpuke Jul 18, 2024 @ 3:42pm
thanks
Neidmare  [author] Jul 18, 2024 @ 3:37pm
@3AMpuke yes
3AMpuke Jul 18, 2024 @ 2:48pm
Is it multiplayer compatible?
Neidmare  [author] Mar 19, 2024 @ 2:34am
@PNORMAN Only for repair recipes which have a skill requirement. For example, repairing the hood of a car requires metalworking, so higher metalworking skill repairs more % for hood repair.

Most tool/weapon repair recipes don't have the maintenance skill attached, which is what this mod fixes.
PNORMAN Mar 19, 2024 @ 1:20am
but doesnt that already change based on level?
Neidmare  [author] Jan 16, 2024 @ 1:48pm
@Layth36 My mod ignores everything that has either Metalworking or Mechanics as a skill, so looks like they should be compatible.
Layth36 Jan 16, 2024 @ 10:15am
I know you mentioned you haven't tested other mods but just from a glance how compatible would you think Vehicle Repair Overhaul be with you mod?
Neidmare  [author] Jan 12, 2024 @ 8:51am
@Spieleaux Vehicle parts already scale with mechanics and metalworking, I thought that was more appropriate. 'Maintenance' is more focused on tools and weapons.
Pleasure, glad you like it!
Spieleaux Jan 12, 2024 @ 8:36am
@Neidmare Any particular reason this doesn't apply to vehicle parts? Game code limitation or personal choice on your part? Just asking out of curiosity.
Also thanks very much for making this, it's an elegant solution to the (very annoying) long-term repair problem that's both reasonably balanced and helps my immersion.
*Tips hat in respect*
Zefiruz Jan 11, 2024 @ 12:13pm
Mods que deberían ser vanilla.
Neidmare  [author] Jan 9, 2024 @ 12:55am
@Losfrail The 25% are hardcoded in the game, cant change that unfortunately.
AReads Jan 8, 2024 @ 4:16pm
Would it be possible to make every further level add 1% to repair? For a maximum of a 30% bonus.
Kxarsis Dec 27, 2023 @ 12:27pm
May be overpowered but feels right and rewarding after grinding your maintenance
ERKEK2000 Dec 25, 2023 @ 2:24am
A little overpowered
Neidmare  [author] Dec 18, 2023 @ 12:57pm
@opossumgal The mod always applies, regardless of how many times you have repaired. The amount repaired is still reduced every time you repair the item, but its always higher than normally. I repaired an axe 10 times and the repair went from 45% per repair (duct tape) to 27% per repair. Without the mod it goes below 20% after the first couple repairs.
opossumgal Dec 18, 2023 @ 10:07am
Hey, we're wondering if you could make this mod still count when the repair is applied with the diminished returns of repairing more than once, currently if you gain levels in maintenance but have already repaired a weapon once you do not gain the benefits of levelling maintenance, this means this isnt useful for more than a one off repair
gamer3000as Dec 10, 2023 @ 9:16pm
heres my new opinion.
this mod work 100 perfect in existing worlds and in multiplayer. and yes this mod is compatible with authentic z,brita weapons mod, vanilla weapons adds. and more
this is a must have mod.
also this mod has alot of potential to be wasted .You can see a future that this mod will have 1 million downloads

@Quilava, Better Repair Count
Neidmare  [author] Oct 18, 2023 @ 4:45pm
@gamer3000as The mod should be compatible with all other mods. It does not remove anything. Im not aware of any bugs.
