Thanks for the feedback, the latest version of the map got rid of most of these "dead" tiles. A download mirror for manual installations is also now provided in the description.

As for the single coal spawn that you mentioned: Civ V doesn't seem to be very fond of desert maps and the amount of resources available tends to be scarce. Playing with Legendary Start or Abundant settings for resource spawns might be preferable for this map.

Oki, I got a help with that map and played that. Can you plese to remove 'dead' tyles? First, I had a coal near Mount Cahrlestone only. And second, one of thdeposit tyles spawned in the zone without access, it's unable to build the mine there

The map is not showing up. Straight movement into the map's folder is useless. And when I delelted the files themselves, they didn't reinstalled with resubscription. Please, upload that map somewhere else so I'll install it manually. Also, I think this map works in vanilla only, and it's just not working with G&K and BNW, I have these DLCs.

New version of the map is up! Forests have been added to the Jacobstown/Mt. Charleston region, missing Barringer Crater natural wonders were added back in (:steamfacepalm:), continent type designation has been redone for better aesthetics as well as a whole bunch of other minor tweaks.

@Catburger
You have to select Additional Maps → and scroll down until you find a map named "Mojave Wasteland". If it's still not showing up, try the method mentioned below of moving the .civ5map file directly into the Maps folder (Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Maps)

Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter.

If the map doesn't appear, try putting the .civ5map file into your game's assets/maps folder manually

It's very unlikely to be a compatibility issue. Try downloading the mod using the Steam Workshop Downloader and then installing it manually. Civ V has always been really janky when it comes to updating its list with mods subscribed through Steam, but it's not a problem for manual installations.

I had a small issue while using the differing Fallout Factions mods where the map wouldn't appear after download; not sure if it is a compatibility issue or simply my game but it may be worth checking. Either way, amazing idea and keep up the good work! :steamthumbsup:

@Max I'll definitely update the map in the future based on feedback and some tweaks that I already have in mind. Now that I think about it, it might be a good idea to have some plains tiles near the regions of Goodsprings, Novac and the Fort (maybe even abandoned farms in North and South Vegas) since they have maize farms and/or brahmin herds. It might not accurately represent the geography, but this is Civ V so we're dealing with abstractions anyway.

To clarify, my initial thought process was that areas didn't have a big enough food production output to be compared to Sharecroppers, Westside or the Nellis AFB greenhouse, for example. Still, the change might be warranted to make things a little more interesting if nothing else.

This is a cool idea but it may be a good idea to make at least a lot of it plains instead of desert. there are definitely some areas that appear ingame (in NV) to be at least a little fertile outside of just jacobstown etc
