I did think about this, what I will do is create a new mod for B42, keep this one the same for those who are still using it.

Yeah I've been trying to do a weather system but for now it's set to to he day/night time. I'll go through and update descriptions and roadmap soon

Mmmm, I'd love to have a harvesting ability. Right now I combine this with Cataclysm Professions Cannibal, lets me feed on zombie corpses and harvest safe meat from them. Recutting that with new graphics and lore, or somehow using a shadow/shade system for sun protection, would be *amazing*.

I can also dream of a custom skin or the like, grey skin and red eyes, but that's a lot more work, and I refuse to be greedy here. Your work is excellent, and I'd be happy to help.

Just to say I have been playing around with this again, and I will be doing a complete revamp of this mod, its likely the old code will be re-written completely.

Those do sound like really good ideas! I'd also recommend the ability to extract blood into a container, or a toggle for car roofs preventing damage entirely (off by default, but only included IF the other toggles are and you want to)

Yeah I had a couple of ideas around that, 1 - the more blood you consume, the more powerful you become, the less you consume the less powerful you are, however you are more hurt by sunlight if you are more powerful. 2 - zombie blood is infected and has a chance to make you sick and isn't as fulfilling as NPC/Survivor blood. 3 - Animal blood again is about as useful as zombie blood, maybe less so but isn't infected. Its not like some vampire lore where just the fact its 4am means its daylight etc, if you can't see the sun or its obscured by weather you are less hurt by it, cars will prevent damage to an extent etc, however this could be a toggle so you could go hardcore mode where just being out after 4am will hurt you. Just a brain dump of my ideas right now

With the introduction of animals, some kind of Animal Succulence perk (or just plain ability) would be amazing. Even more if there's a quality to the blood you consume. Zombies are the weakest, animals a bit better, then humans if you have PvP or NPC survivors to feed on.

I would love it if vampirism rather than a trait to select at the start could be something you obtain mid-playthrough. like a special zombie carrying some sanguine virus and you can let yourself get bit or kill it and extract its blood.

Well, animals are planned for release in the next update come Christmas, but still no official NPCs, which I think it could be possible to implement with modded ones once those update, but I'm not familiar enough with the game's code to be fully confident. Hopefully you find the time for this mod, because I really love this mod.

Unfortunately I don't have the time to develop the mod right now, but I might return once NPCs / Animals are fully implemented and we could do more with it in that regard.

after a few days of testing, the only problem I'm aware with it for multiplayer servers is that on death the occupation doesn't re-appear but this could be due to possessing other occupation mods alongside this trait.

On the other hand it doesn't seem to conflict otherwise with anything or have any real inherent problems of it's own.

keep the attack by zombies in. It makes sense considering vampires whiles yes dead are functionally the same as alive beings. I don't think the zombies would notice any difference since their flesh are still vital and they'd still more or less smell like an alive human. It's not like vampires particularly stink, right?

Anyway. I dunno if multiplier is broken but last time I used it, it worked in multiplier

You could be using the zombie feeding and biting animation for feeding on npcs, would be cool, if at all possible.

this should make you immune to zombies since you are technically dead also would be awesome to try to get blood from npcs with superb survivors and syringe items

Hey Sirc_, would you be alright with my using your mod to base a modified version on? I built one that adjusts damage values based on cloud and fog cover, and removes the sunlight damage in vehicles entirely. I don't want to post it without your permission though.

One more comment to echo nightengate32, the vampire profession is unavailable when recreating a character after death. The sunlight sensitivities negative traits are still available, but the profession is not.

No, I have no yet Sirc_ but I will! And no problem! I love vampires so will definitely be following this mod and giving any further feedback I can!

I'd love to learn to mod after seeing all the mods on here. I have so many ideas. Just no clue where to start. Or how hard it is (I know it's got some difficulty, especially the more complex the mods, the harder).

Thanks for the feedback, the umbrella is a good idea I think and I'll add it to my suggestions list.

Have you tried since the that last change/update? There was an issue until the last update that basically made you take damage from all traits, but that is fixed now

I do like it, but it would be nice (if at all possible) to be able to heal from damage taken by the sun when indoors OR the more of your character covered by clothing, the less damage you take.

And have umbrellas help with sun damage, maybe not eliminate it completely (or you could if you felt it was fair enough, but would require the player to have an open umbrella at all times in the day, which would sorta balance itself as limiting them to one handed weapons or taking sun damage/regular amount of sun damage in exchange for using two handed weapons in the sun, as they no longer have an open umbrella equipped to protect them in any form.)

So I used this other day and my feedback: I took damage so fast that just going next door almost killed me. The house was maybe 10 feet away from me?

And 2. I died. The problem is after I died the first time, the vampire profession was completely gone, I even clicked my saved "Vampire" trait save and still was gone. I died a few more times and each time it was still gone. So I can't give much more feed back than that.
