I did make some simple graphics for each subtype for male, female, earth, pegasi, unicorn, baby, possibly undead and corpse.
But unlike the Changeling and Diamond dog castes, which do show correctly.
The ponies only show the earth pony? graphic for all of the ponies.
A slight improvement on the blue blobs, but a far cry from a potential rainbow of different coloured ponies.
I think the steam version still lags behind with an older pathing code, as the pegasi, griffons, etc. Still seem to get stuck up trees or on ledges on a regular basis.
I wonder if there's code that could be included in the mod to help?
So I think we might need a discord to bring in interested parties?
thanks for the information and input.
I think we/I might need to make a discord channel or something to continue further with the graphics for the Ponies.
Ideally I think it would be great to have graphics that display correctly for each Phenotype (Earth/Pegasi/Unicorn), their hair colour, style, coat and maybe even cutie mark depending on graphics resolution.
I've used the simple method of making graphics for each of the different races in the MLP mod.
It was relatively easy to make the graphics work for the Yaks, Changelings, Diamond dogs, Zebra, etc.
As I could identify the functional caste tags for female, male, etc.

Also yea, Flyers have been an issue for years now. The original 2 versions of My Little Fortress had flying disabled for Pegasi and Alicorns specifically because it was becoming a big issue to have your ponies just die of starvation due to getting stuck on a tree without you noticing.
I re-enabled Flying on them however after an update fixed up their pathing a bit more. For reference they can and will still get stuck, but now so long as they have at least 1 space open next to them, their pathing can typically allow them to get down (it's a 50/50). Sort of like a Running Start to get the flight going I suppose.
Don't know if flight pathing was touched on at all for the Steam Version.
Every Pony Type has tons of different castes for each different kind of job there could be (Miner's, Farmers, Cooks, Military of different kinds, etc). And then those castes get split into 2 (Male and Female), which then get lists of different cutie marks, of which the game grabs 1 at random to apply.

[ALLOWED_CLASS:SOLDIER]
This I think, means that you need a Soldier class Changeling to appoint a militia commander or militia captain.
I think I might delete that line to allow drones or other castes to assume the role.
I'm also curious if changelings are meant to have no way to grow plumphelmets - I have no way to take them when making a fort, and no way to buy them. I feel like they'd love fungus!
In any case, messing around with this has been pretty fun, it's great stuff!
Unknown72's main thread to report to if you have some expertise in modding is at:

My current goal is trying to get images to correctly display for each pony caste and sex.
I want to then allow the mod to display armour and weapon graphics for each entity so it's easier to recognise soldiers from civilians.
I might also need to add in some off colour sprites for zombie, undead and necromancer versions
Looking at the raws, the ponies have different rates of skill increase, so some will level up in their skills faster.
The mod does seem to include Alicorns in the files, but previously they didn't seem to spawn at world creation, due to the pop ratios being too high for the castes of earth pony, unicorn and pegasi.
I think I've fixed this, by lowering the pony castes from 10,000 to 100 for each caste and 100 for the Alicorn. One Alicorn and only one Alicorn now seems to spawn as a Princess in the entire world, so only one of the tribes will receive an Alicorn, whilst the rest will just have a Unicorn, Pegasi or Unicorn as a Princess instead.
Oh and if you have world generation timeframe run for more than 5 years, there seems to be a high chance that the Alicorn with be killed/struck down or even devoured by some other beastie.
Not sure if changing some stats might help boost their durability.
They seem to work alright in Arena mod that is now in the current steam version.
my aim with this uploaded mod was to take some of the olde raws of previous versions of the My Little Pony mods on the older versions of Dwarf Fortress, and to get them to work with the current steam version of Dwarf Fortress.
It works as a 'plugin' mod when creating new worlds. So you can add the mod to add in the different races alongside the vanilla entities or substitute and deactivate the vanilla entities for a MLP like world.
So probably compatible with other mods.
Since the raws are olde and gone through several pairs of hands. Might be several lines of old or defunct code that currently don't serve a purpose.
I took out the custom equipment so that every entity just uses the base game equipment like pickaxes, instead of pony shovels for example, for digging.
Thanks for updating.
Ponies, Diamond Dogs, Deer, Changelings, Griffons, Yaks, Buffalo, etc.
A bit basic, one sprite per race, with a smaller sprite for children and some sprites greyed out for dead, etc.
Let me know if it works.
What exactly do Elements of Harmony do in the mod?
I seem to remember there being a PDF for the mod, and would love a link, if it still exists.

As far as I know, for the Pony mods the original creator was Sorcerer: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=117374.0
and the person that kept maintaining and updating it was Unknown72: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=174663.0
I'll have to check which sources I've used as the original mods seemed to have gone through several modder's hands?
But I would like to add proper crediting.
Currently away from my PC til 28th December. Using the Tablet.
Don't forget to link the source by the way!
Good work, and I wish you luck with further work on this if you continue!
