After installing this mod, problems with the window for purchasing blueprints from Terrans appear - the lists of ships do not open. Tested by disabling other mods. Version 8.0 beta

Could you please update the M size turret slots to also accept Missile Turrets?

Also i think theirs room for another 4 M size turrets =P
and 2 L size turrets. Id love to stick a L size Missile turret on this thing and fire heavy dumb rockets at stations and Destroyers.


love this ship though, its so good! Sure it cant slug it out with destroyers but it will slap anything else. i even let it get swarmed on occasion and have them configured for heavy AA and a pair of them can deal with most xenon swarms.
did i mention that its such a fun and good ship? =P

I soo want to give these the loving they deserve.. but, I JUST CAN'T.. I hate L and Larger ships that can't handle docking even 1 single M Class. I'd rather have 1M than 40S..

Any-chance of a modified version that swaps them out?

I wonder you design a nice ship ,you allow it to carry 160 missiles, but you do not allow it to take missile turrets !!! This looks odd. Hope in another update to fix this issue.

Seems like there is an issue with spawning the wild, as the job file included asks for a L size frigate, but the ships file dictates it as an L size destroyer. Just needs correcting to frigate in the ships file

Is there a cap on how fast L-class ships can turn now or something? I've got a thruster I made up myself in it, and it should be able to move smoothly, but it's as clumsy as an elephant drowning in motor oil. It's like no matter what I do with the numbers, all that happens is the head-look goes further, but something is holding the ship back from turning any faster.

This is a heavy frigate, it should be more nimble than a damn dreadnought... anybody have any idea what's wrong with L-class ships in general? Not just this one, it's every damn L-class frigate mod, the Cyclops is another example.. Yes, I opened up the file and tried adjusting the inertia and stuff too. It's like they can't turn on two axes at once; if I try to pitch and yaw at the same time, it'll only do one or the other, likewise if I try to roll and yaw or roll and pitch.

Hi, I would like to ask a question about the external view of this ship. I found that this ship looks relatively small when using follow camera mode. I guess the actual distance of external view is in the same level as other larger L-class ships? So I would like to ask if there is any way to make this ship look larger from vanilla follow camera? I really like the ship looks like, but when I want to see it while flying, it only occupies a tiny part of my screen:steamsad:

NOW FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH X4:FOUNDATIONS 6.0

-UPDATED COLLISION MESH FILES. Fully compatible with new Jolt engine.

Landing pads are no longer obstructed by outdated collision files.
Ship can now take proper shield and hull damage from shots that hit the main body of the ship.

I know this update took a while, thanks everyone for your patience. Please spread the word that these ships are now compatible again with people you think you might enjoy them again!

This is a beautiful ship. Absolutely spiffing. I love the idea, too, of an L-frigate that's designed around a main gun for bringing the pain to peers, and a whole boatload of turrets to keep the chaff away.

It also looks fantastic. Did I say that already? It's worth reiterating.

However... I hate to say it, but it might be better to rename it somehow.

There's a namespace collision with the Valkyrie battleship from Ship Variation Expansion, and your mod is two years younger than SVE.

CURRENTLY INCOMPATIBLE WITH 6.00 BETA. ENGINES AND SHIELDS WILL NOT APPEAR, HITBOXES WILL NOT BE ACCURATE AND MAY BLOCK LANDING PADS. Currently waiting on the developers to tell us how to resolve collision mesh issues. Run with the 6.00 beta at your own risk. Back up your save games.

Hey, just a note: You can make this mod voiced by using the unused "Valkyrie" voice line in the 03.cat catalogue.

For the english voice, it's under voice-l044/20101/66201.ogg.

@bagelhe All Terran ATF ships (The Asgard and Syn) have a restriction on buying them directly from the shipyard in vanilla. You'll need to buy the blueprints first from a faction representative, and build them at your own shipyard. If you have a mod that removes this restriction, it will not remove it from this ship. I kept the restriction on this ship to stay as close to the original game as possible. You're welcome to make a mod that removes the restriction on this as well if you'd like. i cannot buy the ship at the terran warf its locked even though i can buy all the other big ships. it says not available for third parties

I know the toils of matching curves together over top of a rigid design and all the while making sure a pre-established metric is adheered to. One modeller to another, my hat's off to you, its very faithful and fits right in, at first glance you cant even tell its a mod. Good instincts on paint ratio too, there's just enough "machinery" to "sportscar" going on and it turned out wonderful!

@Kagami Tsunoda (2/2) The curved armour panelling on top with the vents on the side was a random idea I had that turned out looking decent and gave 2 unique silhouettes when looking at the ship from the side vs from the top / front. Rest of the ship is just details clustered together at the front, middle and back of the ship to provide more interest, as well as being careful which sections of the ship get painted, vs which are coloured grey when the ship is in game to keep a good paint to non-paint ratio. :-)

@Kagami Tsunoda (1/2) Thank you! The inspiration for the design came mostly from the Syn and Asgard, I try my best to keep the vanilla designs in mind as much as possible when making these ships. As far as the shape goes, it was mostly breaks down to the front end being a mashup of 2 different (roughly cube-like) shapes placed into each other, having the parts that intersect be deleted, and then have the harsh edges where the 2 cubes cut into each other bevelled so that they transition into each other smoothly. The back end of the ship looks more like the Syn, keeping the 2 thicker armour blocks on each side with the shape altered a little bit. Parts of the rest of the shape (especially the middle) had to be governed by the sizes of M turrets, M shields, L shield, and engine a bit.

I love this design. It's obvious you put some real work into it. That being said...I'd love to see more "kitbash" S and M ships especially for the Argons. The Nova and Callisto cockpits are very interesting and I think it's sad that nobody seems to have done anything with them. You could build a pretty convincing Freelancer "Patriot" with the Callisto cockpit, I think.

Tell me a bit about the inspiration for the design, I like the shape, its quite fitting for the Protectorate's ATF, as opposed to the USC's ATF. A distinction I see missed a lot.

@Волк This is different on S and M ships as they are actually visible and need to be built into the ship. I also have no experience in moving the cockpits or animated parts, but I've heard it might make the game crash. An M ship I use that's modded really well is Axeface's Teladi Kea. I don't use any S ship mods. So, it's possible to mod them I think, just much more things to take into consideration. :steamhappy:

@Волк Hi, thanks for your questions! I may not be working on more mods for X4 for a little while as I have been invited to work on another X related fan project, but that doesn't mean I'll stop completely. Your idea for a carrier for the ATF is a cool one, and I will consider this. In terms of creating S and M sized ships, they are more complex / fiddly because 1. they need to fit a specific landing pad size, and 2. there are a lot of animated parts such as ramps, ladders, doors, etc. The cockpit on L / XL bridges is technically only visible from the inside and invisible from an external view, which makes them much easier to place.

A beautiful ship and very good work. Next, could you maybe create a nice and cool M ship? A Corvette that looks similar to the ATF Mod's Verdandi? Just the model or something is enough. I'm really good at scripting, so weapons and towers and other things. But when it comes to creating 3D models, I'm still really crap. :-)

Another top quality design.

Nicely ballance that other Terran ships are Large-turret focused.


@Bonk: Modders don't do as many small ship, coz they come with additional requirement that ship interior/cokpit need to fit the external model.
For L and XL ships, the "bridge interior" doesn't exist physically within ship model and can be reused from vanilla bridge models.

A very nice model of the ship, it's nice to see that someone decided to remember about ATF.
Let me ask you a question about future plans. Do you have any plans to create a heavy carrier for the Terran (in particular for the ATF), similar to the Raptor (Woden?). Although, such a class of ships would be relevant for all races.

And let me ask you a question about modding for x4 (sorry for impudence)? I noticed that for x4 practically (no, I’m lying, they don’t exist) they don’t make small ships (fighters, interceptors). Do I understand correctly that the implementation of such ships in x4 is problematic, or are they simply not popular as player ships (could you please share your opinion as a modder)?

@Astrefernal Hi, yes these ship mods can be added and removed from your game at any time. You can add them mid way through a playthrough. Just make sure that you aren't standing on board one if you remove it from the game otherwise your save file wont load. Of course any Valkyries you buy will be lost and the game wont return any money to you or anything.
