Just tried adding the creation forge, and it worked fine. The tricky part is getting the load order correct, remembering that you have to generate a new world, and realizing that mods are actually duplicated by DF when they're loaded for the first time, so they live in multiple places. Since I don't know what setup you're using I'll try to cover the two situations.

1. If you're using a patch make sure that patch loads after Aves and generate a new world.
2. If you changed the files for Aves make sure Aves loads after the other mod and generate a new world.

Then in either case, make sure you modified the mod files in "data/installed_mods" because this is where mods actually live when run by the game. A new mod or mod version gets duplicated into here when the game loads it for the first time. You can modify it in "mods" too, but this won't do anything if you've loaded a world with that mod version at any time in the past.

Tried to add in workshops from other mods into this, but nothing shows up after adding the construction and reaction permissions. Could be the other mods, but just wondering if there's anything on the Aves side that might make them incompatible with workshops from other mods?

Nevermind, I figured it out. The ave language was conflicting with a language overhaul mod.

Hey, not sure if this is a glitch just for me or part of the mod itself but my Aves names don't seem to appear normally. They have names in parenthesis but where a dwarfs name would normally be during events or for job lists they just have ',' (a comma) instead. Is this normal or a glitch?

Just letting you know, I found a graphics bug in my mods with the recent beta versions that is present in this one too. Because you used the shadow tile from the DWARF_BODY tileset, and the dwarf graphics have changed, instead of a shadow there's now a piece of dwarf floating behind the Ave's heads.

It's harmless because it's completely covered but I thought I should tell you.

Had no problems getting little downy bundles of joy in a past fortress, but my current one is so far not seeing much reproductive romance. Most prolific layers seem to be the lesbian couple. XD

Hi my birds spent a lot of time above the eggs but don't hatch anyone only i have two babys at the start of the fortress

Ah, I'll clarify that in the description soon. As of right now it's not a guaranteed thing, as the Aves simply tame any local animals they can get their hands on, which may or may not include giant peach faced love birds, depending on randomness.

yea that, There's an option as the author said, to disallow cooking/eating certain stuff, cause, yknow, not all of us are canibals, unlike some humans and dwemer

Oh, you should also disallow them from cooking ave eggs in the kitchen menu. I'll add that in the How To Egg section.

I love this mod! I have a bunch of modded playable civs but I keep coming back to these because they are so cute/colorful and have a ton of character. I'm excited thinking of the possibilities if the bugs preventing them from flight are eventually dealt with, I want to make a treehouse fort for them

Oh man, on my first world created with them, I saw that they'd tamed pretty much all the giant carnivores (dingos, coyotes, lions, tigers, oh my). Having big cool giant carnivores wandering around my fortress is one of my favorite things ever - this is a dream come true.

This is my favorite race mod so far. Great work. I hope you will continue to work on it cos this is a gem of a race mod. The amount of animals I could pick from on embark was a real treat and I had so much fun testing out a few variants. I don't have any of the giant animal mods enabled cos its too risky since it alters the vanilla files but this played fine since I'm only using this race mod. I'm having a blast. Keep up the great work

Ah, sadly I created my world on 1.04, which means I'm missing the colorful variants and other fun features. =/ Which I guess is okay, I'm running a kobold fort not an aves fort on this run.

@polaris.ursa, If the world was made before 1.05 then yes, its incompatible. But if it was made with 1.05 then that's really strange, because all I did was change a texture file in 1.06.

Hey just a heads up. If you make a fresh world and embark you will always be a bird tribe. You have to build the world, go to menu, then select a dwarf civilization from the world save when embarking to be dwarves. Superb mod otherwise.

@The_Avrowolf, Yes, it is compatible with any civ mod. Doesn't mean they'll always get along though.
@Blitz, Valid point, I've changed it for the next update. Mods can't disable magma forges though as far as I'm aware.
@Passel, Currently, they require some shenanigans. I'm doing some !science! right now to figure out how it works. But what I've found out so far is that females will claim nest boxes when they stand on top of them for a bit, such as when they're standing around meeting places. I'll update the description once I figure out more or maybe just make them have live birth if its way too much of a hassle.

Yes that was intentional. It didn't feel thematic to me for them to have discovered the secrets of steel or candy. Like the humans. But you can request it from dwarven caravans. But in place of steel or candy, maybe I'll add something unique for them to make, gem weapons perhaps? The scope creep begins. :cozycastondeath:

@Barely_Creative, I'll add a license to the mod files. I should have done it anyway.
@Nyinxie, I'm rather busy, but please do check out the DF wiki, the bay12forums, my mod, other mods, and especially the vanilla files, for inspiration and direction. :birbSmile:
