Thanks TurtleShroom - I highly encourage you to follow development of my new mod. I do intend on bringing over many of the additions from this mod to that one, including my CSA content. So please do stay tuned.
TurtleShroom Nov 19, 2023 @ 12:29pm
Glob, I miss this version so much. I loved how you approached the CSA and considered my suggestions to be neutral to the depiction of the CSA without compromising Paradox's system. It's a shame that the new one is so scaled back.

Maybe some day we'll see this being updated for real. Regardless, it was a pleasure to befriend you over these discussions and I wish your future Mod making endeavors the best.

Unfortunately this mod is defunct! I do not plan on updating it anymore, as I have lost interest in modding so heavily for Victoria 3. However, I have been playing the 1.5 open beta for a long time, and I have been making a new, much smaller mod with minor changes and fixes to the United States. When I feel it's ready, I will release that mod on the workshop for everybody's enjoyment. Until then, thank you for playing this mod!

Doesn't seem to work anymore unfortunately, every time I try to do the civil war the South Carolina secession event fires but nothing happens afterwards
lukt Oct 29, 2023 @ 3:59pm
update?
JT Oct 22, 2023 @ 7:54pm
Every time I try to fight the civil war as the union, I randomly capitulate and trigger the treaty of washington, without -100 warscore on either side. After multiple tries I just cant beat the confederation with their infinite warscore from events while I randomly surrender out of nowhere. Is this a common issue or is there just an issue with my game? Thanks
jackson Sep 29, 2023 @ 2:43pm
I have been wondering anyway you can get the AI to achieve webster ashburton treaty or the Oregon Treaty by giving the AI bonus in diplo relation and taxas becasue USA seem to randomly stop increasing Diplo relations with Texas
The God-Emperor of Mankind Sep 17, 2023 @ 7:41pm
Addendum: Sorry, I just found your explanation, and realized I was meant to fire a decision and not manually fire off a diplomatic play. That's my bad!
The God-Emperor of Mankind Sep 17, 2023 @ 6:39pm
Is the Mexican Cession meant to end in any particular way? I waited for the Thorne Affair to give me claims and launch the diplomatic play, pushed all the way to the Pacific, and... Nothing. Wondered if it wasn't because I hadn't made a treaty with Canada to resolve the Oregon Dispute, but that didn't complete it either. Neither did annexing the Indian Territory. I'm a bit at a loss as to how else to "obtain our rightful territories in the West."
trupizza  [author] Sep 6, 2023 @ 8:33am
In all of my test play throughs California and Texas always see population booms if you manually increase their standard of living with industries, especially Texas after the civil war. California sees plenty of migration bonuses from gold rush events, and both states have the opportunity to receive massive migration bonuses from the transcontinental railway journal complete event.
jackson Sep 3, 2023 @ 11:58pm
It just if they both get incorporated it become very hard to rapidly increase they pop tho resettlement laws because taxes doesn't get any event for migration bonus
trupizza  [author] Sep 3, 2023 @ 3:15pm
Both Texas and California are meant to become incorporated states without player intervention. When Texas is annexed by the US (either through war with Mexico or annexation with the Republic) the Texas Question event will fire, which will incorporate Texas immediately.

California will become incorporated in 1850 with the Compromise of 1850 event, reflecting its admission into the Union due to that compromise.
jackson Sep 1, 2023 @ 7:24am
The issue is when I take Texas and California they both start being Incorporated because I have notice mexico has already Incorporate California
trupizza  [author] Sep 1, 2023 @ 7:06am
Lukt - I will try to update when I can, but the mod *should* be compatible. I haven’t played the new update yet.

Jackson - I’m sorry, I don’t understand?
jackson Aug 31, 2023 @ 8:02am
Texas and California is into the Union Incorporated because transfer state doesn't care if it a conquered state or joining the Union
lukt Aug 30, 2023 @ 1:57pm
1.4?
trupizza  [author] Aug 27, 2023 @ 8:58am
I haven't tested it but I can't imagine it is. My mod changes a large amount of localization, events, decisions, journal entries, state histories, country histories, and more. So, it's probably not compatible and I have no intention of making it compatible myself.
leofiniarel Aug 26, 2023 @ 5:14am
Is this compatible wth Victorian Flavor mod?
trupizza  [author] Aug 18, 2023 @ 5:25pm
When it comes to the AI not invading, my mod doesn't touch AI at all, and as far as I'm aware city names are only cosmetic and have no impact on gameplay. So, I can't confirm if the issue is my mod, another mod, or just a bug.
trupizza  [author] Aug 18, 2023 @ 5:24pm
The reason is because my mod replaces the whole hub_names localization file to fix certain American city name typos (i.e. Pine Bluff, Arkansas being stylized as "Pine bluff", same as Santa Fe being "Santa fe")

Because I did that before the Voice of the People update which added more cities to Algeria, they don't have names when you run my mod. However I'm fixing this in the next patch because I found out that Victoria 3 can use "replace" files for certain strings of localization without needing to replace the entire text file. So expect a fix relatively soon.
jackson Aug 18, 2023 @ 3:40pm
why does Algerian Oran city have no name because it seem to stop AI from invading especially France
lukt Aug 12, 2023 @ 7:51pm
i figured it out lol
trupizza  [author] Aug 12, 2023 @ 5:25pm
The Webster-Ashburton Treaty is a decision that can be taken any time the USA has cordial relations with Upper Canada, New Brunswick, and Great Britain.

The Congress deciding on Texas is just a time-based trigger. It simply just requires the year to be after 1845. On January 1 1845, that box will be checkmarked.
lukt Aug 10, 2023 @ 8:11pm
how do you get the treaty of webster and congress on texas
trupizza  [author] Aug 3, 2023 @ 3:27pm
I have added a few fixes to some issues in this new hotfix, so please check it out. Most notably, the American Civil War JE will now properly complete. Thanks to Rommel for pointing out this glaring issue!
Gavtopia Jul 25, 2023 @ 7:11pm
You do a great job!
trupizza  [author] Jul 19, 2023 @ 8:44am
Rommel - thank you for this. I will take a look through the mod's files and put a fix for this issue as it seems to be a major one. I'm sorry that you had to make the fix on your own! That's entirely my fault.

The Motivated - I appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you enjoy the mod despite your criticisms, I will likely change the war goal to an annex war goal and fix any issues surrounding that. I understand the skirmish events may be an issue for some people. My intent with them is to ensure that the war is an actual war and not a 6-month long insurgency. However I do agree that, if the player has spent the game preparing for the civil war, then they should be able to crush the Confederates/Free Americans without the war drawing out. However until I pick back up on mod production, they will have to remain. I do intend on overhauling the Civil War and its conditions for firing so that the war can be far more organic and the rebels have an organic chance of fighting and even winning.
The Motivated Jul 18, 2023 @ 5:27pm
I want to speak positively about this mod, I do. Most of it is very well put together. However, some things simply infuriate me involving the Civil War journal entry. To reference a comment before mine, the end of the war is broken because the War Goal is set as "Make Dominion" instead of "Annex." Additionally, the events about skirmishes are exceedingly dumb and force the war to be MUCH more drawn out than it needs to be if you prepare for the civil war. The second point is very frustrating.
Rommel Jul 17, 2023 @ 7:30pm
After digging through the files and debugging I know how to fix the issue (at least on my tests) The JE je_acw_war checks for failure on if CSA or FSA exists when USA is at peace but the event acw_secession_crisis.2 creates a diplomatic play of type = dp_make_dominion for both CSA and USA player choice. So when the war is won, even if the the CSA is a subject, it still exists thus failing the JE. I fixed it in my files by changing the diplo play type to annex

For players if you encounter this situation before there's an update (i.e. wargoal says 'make dominion') just restart game in debug mode and annex the CSA (or USA) through console in order to win the JE. The war will automatically end and it will be as if you won the war normally (tested myself)
Rommel Jul 17, 2023 @ 6:05pm
I've been doing some play testing after editing save files. Even when Jefferson is leader of CSA, I still get 'CSA has beaten us' event after winning the war and pressing my wargoal
Rommel Jul 17, 2023 @ 3:46pm
*edit I meant Jefferson Davis not Robert E Lee
Rommel Jul 17, 2023 @ 3:31pm
The mod seems to be broken when trying to end the civil war. I fully occupied the south by 1862 and if I clicked the peace button with the assigned wargoal subjugate, I get the event confederated sovereigns of america have beaten us completely. Even though I fully subjugated them and won the war. I reloaded the save and tried to keep clicking on the battle events that pop up which give war support. Kept clicking them until 1866 until it was impossible to raise the south's war support before they capitulated. Does Robert E Lee need to be leader of the south for a scripted event to occur for peace?? If so for some reason he did not lead the south in my game..... So sad :'( a two week campaign has be thrown in the trash
trupizza  [author] Jul 8, 2023 @ 6:53pm
Well I'm sorry to hear that! Right now the Civil War only fires when the Slavery Debate journal entry is completed. The only trigger for the JE completing and thus the Civil War firing is electing a President with either the Abolitionist or Slaver ideology.

Does your President have either of those? If not, the war won't fire at all.
miz ancona Jul 8, 2023 @ 6:41pm
Civil War didn't start for me, pretty disappointed I pretty much wasted a whole game trying to get to it
truelove101992 Jul 7, 2023 @ 10:36am
Currently it's something like the free archduchy of america I think. Personally I'd say an empire is more fitting than a kingdom (or a united kingdom) per definition, being by default both a large country and ethnically/culturally diverse (which are generally considered one or the other are usually given as qualitiers for an empire) for almost the entirety of it's history.
trupizza  [author] Jul 6, 2023 @ 2:06pm
Just hit the green subscribe button and add the mod to your playlist on the Victoria 3 Paradox launcher after opening Victoria 3 via Steam library
hyroda Jul 6, 2023 @ 11:43am
How to install?
trupizza  [author] Jul 5, 2023 @ 4:05pm
If I ever get around to delving deep into alternate history and America's other ideological paths, I will certainly consider it.

As for Monarchist country name flavor, I could look into that for the next patch. What's the current monarchist America name? I think something like the "United Kingdoms of America" would sound pretty cool.
truelove101992 Jul 5, 2023 @ 5:51am
(I posted this in a different flavor mod too, just in case) Could you perhaps add in what the "hamalton's dream" mod is supposed to do by any chance? It's a really neat idea but is apparently non-functional. Also changing monarchist US to the American Empire/Empire of America, since the vanilla name seems silly.
trupizza  [author] Jul 2, 2023 @ 6:21am
That’ll probably do it
jackson Jul 2, 2023 @ 2:41am
Yeah am using a mod that conflict with the state files
trupizza  [author] Jul 1, 2023 @ 4:25pm
Jackson, I'm not sure what's going on with the Canada issue. Is there a mod you have that affects states? Also, for the Mexico puppet issue, I will be seeking a work around for the Mexican-American War that allows more organic wars to fire through diplomatic plays instead of puppeting Mexico, so hang in there for new content. For now, it seems the fix you found will work.

3 Muskateers, I'm glad you're enjoying my mod! Please give me any feedback you have. As for compatibility, I haven't put any thought into merging my mod with with any others including the Great Rework. I have no interest in reaching out to any other mod maker or working on compatibility patches unless they reach out to me.
jackson Jul 1, 2023 @ 2:39pm
I have found a fix for the not allowing puppeting of major power https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2987644550&searchtext=puppet+major
3 Muskateers Jul 1, 2023 @ 12:57pm
I really like your mod and I am excited to play the new update. Have you considered working your mod into the Great Rework modpack?
jackson Jul 1, 2023 @ 12:14pm
I have found another bug because Mexico is a major power I can't puppet them which stop me from using the peace treaty event of Guadalupe Hidalgo
jackson Jul 1, 2023 @ 12:05pm
Yes Canada doesn't own those lands
trupizza  [author] Jul 1, 2023 @ 8:14am
the Mexican American War chain should still be available once the US declares Manifest Destiny.
