I'm working on updating this one, so everything helps. A lot of this mod is built using reflection and IL code injection, so it can be a bit temperamental if something touches anything it needs.

Right now the source code as it existed for 1.4 does not compile, so I'm a little surprised it works at all. I suspect the fields involved shifted from public to private between versions. Not insurmountable, but a major headache.

Social interface controls? I could choose to between trying for baby (the 400% boost to chance) and options like that if thats what you mean, obviously got locked out of those options soon as character got pregnant though
I should also mention im not running HAR, i do have a large amount of mods but no alien mods right now.

That's good to hear. Are the social interface controls present and working in your game?

For those looking for HAR compatibility, it is not feasible. It would take serious work to make it happen at all, and would be brittle for whoever was downstream in the load order.

seems to be working for me as of 1.5, just had 2 female pawns with the gene sleep together and 1 got pregnant, will see if theres any issues as it progresses.

I can confirm that the social interface pregnancy controls are functioning in 1.4. I assume you're running 1.5? This mod is known to be broken in a number of ways in the latest version of RimWorld

On a related note, is there an existing mod that just disables the gender check entirely, for all pawns? There was a setting in Children, School and Learning to disable the check, but I haven't found anything equivalent for Biotech.

yeah spotted that a little bit ago. greatly simplifies the work. I'll get this updated when I have time. The comments sections in these posts leaves a lot to be desired.

I can take a look, but given that there is no source published, I'll be reverse engineering the mod from the dll file. My work would be original. If someone can spare the world my developer art, there's no reason I would need to take it down. I can always point people back here for 1.4.

I can't guarantee HAR support, but we'll see. If I had to guess, both mods are touching the same properties causing stuff to break. Depending on how things are implemented, it may not be feasible to reconcile.

@Rearden Humanoid Alien Races support would be nice. Its currently incompatible, meaning no race mod that depends upon HAR can use it so far.

Are there plans to update this mod? I use this mod a lot and I'd love to see it make the leap to 1.5.

I'm happy to take up the task if you don't want to, though having access to the source code would greatly ease the job.

Doesn't do exactly the same thing, but Child birth prayer can sorta cover what this mod does with a ritual until someone else fork or remakes this since it really doesn't seem like the OP's gonna come back any time soon.

just wondering, may I use this gene in my mod that adds a bunch of xenotypes? (One pack to rule them all, one pack to find them, one pack to bring them all, and in the darkness, combine them)

You know @Sea, your gender mods have 2 claims to fame (Not sure if you knew that)

1. You made the Male and Female Only genes before Alpha Genes had gender genes, and before Big and Small Framework
2. You have the only Hermaphrodite Gene on the workshop! (There's budding, asexual (like bacteria), so on, but only one Hemaphrodite!)

So, even if other mods have added it, your mod will always have been the first !

Hermaphrodism doesn't seem to work with genes that add egg-laying such as alpha genes

The only lovin' from egg-laying pawns that results in an egg is between a male and a female (always and only laid by the female), even if both are hermaphrodites

I tested it on 20 cases of lovin' on super-fertile pawns all aged between 20-30 years. In all cases, only a male-female intercourse resulted in an egg

Is there any way to make the pregnancy chance between male and females 50% for each one? It seems to me that most if not all of the time the woman becomes pregnant, but I would like also for the father to be the pregnant one.

Any updates on someone adopting the mod, or fixing the HAR mod conflict?

To the people experiencing the HAR compatibility issue: the only major issue seems to be developing the child naturally via lovin. Any workaround that skips that step seems to work fine, including using Character Editor to give the Pregnancy health hediff with the desired colonist as the father.
