1) Are you able to edit the graphics? Can you make a version with canal directions in all 6 directions so you can build every plot a canal? Would also save performance if simply every plot uses that graphic, regardless of neighbour tiles.
2) Is your DLL code public? I'm currently using my own DLL based on the vanilla DLL code, because whowards DLL still had a few bugs left (and CP DLL is just too much) I was not able to find (eg. rebels although you have positive happiness).
If the oceans, the capital, and lakes are listed in order and I try to build a canal underneath capital, it connects to the lake and the capital.
Could you make it so naval units could sail through it, like the Suez and Panama Canals?
can a canal be removed, in the case of bad placement by another player after city capture?
I also didn't touch the AI code so they don't understand the usefulness of the canal and where it is good to put them.
