Loot Beams

If you're using an item magnet mod you're barely going to see all the beams anyway, I have no plans on adding support just for that situation.
Treinck_Ghost Oct 31 @ 7:17am
Would it be possible to add support for item magnet plus ? When you activate the magnet, all loot beans essentialy disappear. I assume this is because the IMP mod might make all items to have a "can be pulled" state where the items check to see if they, well, can be pulled, but that disables the loot beans, again I ASSUME, this is because your mod adds loot beans to "items on the floor" not "items that can be pulled".

IF it's not a hastle I would kindly ask if you could add support for that mod.

If anything came out as rude or entitled, please, that is not my intention, I'm merely speculating and asking, this mod is great!

Small price to pay, I'd say. I added the ability to toggle additive drawing just for problems like that, it's much better than it not working at all or not giving you an option to compromise.

With both loot beams and luminous water reflection both turned on, I get black borders if a use the brighter beams option. Disabling it fixes the problem, but it is a visual downgrade.

That didn't stop me from making adjustments so that the mod wouldn't look weird at high framerates in some cases, 'cause a couple of content creators I know of use it (They're awesome for that) and happen to have high fps and it kinda bothered me that some animations were happening faster than intended.
ChemAtDark  [author] Oct 23 @ 6:55pm
That too, hence why I don't personally use it even if I could benefit from it.
flamedance58 Oct 23 @ 3:09pm
Ntm the High FPS mod for Terraria is know to be BUGGY af.
ChemAtDark  [author] Oct 21 @ 10:11pm
High FPS Support is unnecessary if you don't have a monitor that supports a refresh rate higher than 60Hz. As for the crash, maybe it was just a fluke.
atk_256 Oct 21 @ 9:23pm
Sorry, I tried to reproduce the crash again today, but it didn't crash.
The visual modification mod I'm using is a prerequisite mod for the Calamity add-on.
The performance mod I'm using is High FPS support.
ChemAtDark  [author] Oct 21 @ 7:54pm
Not the whole list of course, but what other mods that might touch visuals or improve performance, the latter tends to be unstable with some other mods ironically
ChemAtDark  [author] Oct 21 @ 7:53pm
Well, I'm unable to replicate your issue with just Loot Beams loaded, what other mods are you using?
atk_256 Oct 21 @ 7:36pm
My monitor has a refresh rate of 60Hz.
ChemAtDark  [author] Oct 21 @ 11:41am
If my experimental change causes issue for many people then I'll have no qualms with reverting it or trying to make it more stable. I do not use a high refresh rate monitor myself so I cannot feasibly test these changes.
ChemAtDark  [author] Oct 21 @ 11:22am
What is the refresh rate for your monitor? An experimental change I've made might be a factor.
atk_256 Oct 21 @ 6:16am
After the new update, looking through a scope causes a crash. (This is a machine translation.)
Bald man gaming (BMG) Oct 20 @ 7:41pm
What is in the new update? :o
Thunderaz Oct 20 @ 6:49pm
Goated mod, easier to find rare items spawned and what not
flamedance58 Oct 20 @ 12:37am
Mmmm I don't notice the flash THAT much honestly. I had to really focus on items dropping to notice it so I'd say that it's there if you see it but it's not obnoxious like it's god rays lol
ChemAtDark  [author] Oct 19 @ 10:40am
Actually, there is something I want feedback on, I've added a small flash when the beams appear. I'd like to know if this change is too intrusive and/or if I should make that aspect configurable, because I easily can.
ChemAtDark  [author] Oct 19 @ 10:37am
...Oh, I just remembered I had a recent update thing, I can't believe I completely forgot. Good catch!
Just a slight visual adjustment, as well as beams fading out while picking the items up. Should be more satisfying to collect a mountain of items on the ground. Haven't tested multiplayer compat for this change (when one person has the mod but the others don't), but it should be fine.
There'll be another update fairly soon, gonna clean up the configs a bit and split some options into their own configs, your configs may be reset as a result.
AVeryLittleGhost Oct 19 @ 9:26am
yeah
flamedance58 Oct 19 @ 3:41am
What was in the update today?
Than Sech Aug 10 @ 9:59am
why the hell does this mod make my game crash during blood moon bruh...
flamedance58 Jul 13 @ 3:08pm
Thank for making and upkeeping this!
It feels and looks great and honestly I wouldn't be able to tell it wasn't meant to be a part of the game.
DamageMaximo Jul 7 @ 10:36am
SO GOOD

InspectorGadget Apr 16 @ 6:27pm
I will check them again, though they shouldn't have been altered. Then again, some of my other mods were acting strangely, but they fixed themselves.
ChemAtDark  [author] Apr 16 @ 6:14pm
Check your configs and see if something is awry, usually when loot beams don't appear it's likely because it was configured that way.
InspectorGadget Apr 16 @ 5:48pm
The mod suddenly stopped working for me outright, I hadn't introduced any new mods and the problem persists even if I disable all other mods. Pretty sad, I liked this mod.
JesusHentaiChrist Feb 2 @ 4:32pm
Oh, you're right! I'm sorry. I don't have notification for researched items, i actually never noticed that.
ChemAtDark  [author] Feb 2 @ 10:35am
I've actually used Loot Beams with Rare Drop Notification, and it works for me, maybe check your configs?
JesusHentaiChrist Feb 2 @ 12:59am
For some reason doen't work with Rare Drop Notification
🅰🅽🅰🆂🆄🅸 Jan 13 @ 10:57am
Oh, okay, thanks.
ChemAtDark  [author] Jan 13 @ 10:19am
Well there's no way to configure category-wide loot beams, however it may be helpful to know that most blocks (except for ores) are either of a very low rarity and/or no sell value, so if you don't want (most) blocks to have a beam, set minimum rarity and/or value to at least 1
🅰🅽🅰🆂🆄🅸 Jan 12 @ 10:26pm
I need to turn off the beams from the blocks.
ChemAtDark  [author] Jan 12 @ 3:26pm
That does not clarify the issue whatsoever.
🅰🅽🅰🆂🆄🅸 Jan 12 @ 2:54pm
Oh, I'm sorry, I'm talking about loot beams.
ChemAtDark  [author] Jan 12 @ 10:53am
I don't know what you mean by flicker, could you be more descriptive?
🅰🅽🅰🆂🆄🅸 Jan 12 @ 4:34am
Hi! I really liked the mod, but I can't figure out how to disable the flicker of all the blocks. Or should only each block be added to the list without flickering?
Petercko Dec 26, 2024 @ 5:22pm
This reminds me of when I used to play Diablo III with my dad when I was young, Ima get it also looks sick.

nice
Moonlight Glint Oct 30, 2024 @ 7:14pm
Additive beams can be implemented without changing the blend state by setting the alpha to 0, since Terraria uses AlphaBlend, doing so would improve compatibility with some mods
Byzod Oct 23, 2024 @ 3:38am
Are you still updating? Beam size and effect definitly should be increased with the rarity, please add custom option for it.
ChemAtDark  [author] Sep 27, 2024 @ 12:01am
Calamity Rarities gives items with unique rarities their colors, such as Angelic Alliance and Nanoblack Reaper, basically any items that use a unique rarity color that isn't based on the item's actual rarity, as they are not implemented with ModRarity, so there is technically a reason to use it.
Tintern Sep 26, 2024 @ 10:11pm
Might be worth no long recommending Calamity rarities since it's basically officially implemented into Calamity now.
ChemAtDark  [author] Sep 19, 2024 @ 2:39pm
I can officially say: "Wow this doin numbers"
