The new Smithy linkables (anvil and bellows) added by VFE Medieval 2 don't recognize the large Smithing Table added by this mod.

@CiXwOw Sure, no rush! While I don't think I can help you much as my skills are rather lacking, there are plenty of lovely people on the official rimworld discord server that are very knowledgeable about these thing and i'm sure could help you out!
CiXwOw  [author] Feb 12 @ 5:49am
@Kimo': Admittedly I only had a brief scan of the new system in December, and then got swept away by the holidays, but I from what I could see, the area responsible for power functioned the same way as the current system. But I may well have missed something, or it may have changed since then. I'll take a look hopefully this weekend!
Kimo' Feb 12 @ 4:50am
@CiXwOw Good timing, just spoke with Sarg. I asked him if the new system allow to use piped ressources (in this case, gas) to fuel a production station, and he said that was possible. Now, as for how one should go about it, I have no clue. But he assured me that was possible.
CiXwOw  [author] Feb 12 @ 4:47am
@Kimo': I've spoken with them a few times. I've even provided the code that would allow it to work with the current system, but they weren't interested.
Kimo' Feb 11 @ 5:00am
@CiXwOw no worries. I'm a bit surprised about hearing that the pipe system can't use gas to power things. I'm no programmer by any means, but isn't it how helixien heater/cooler works? I think your best bet is to directly message Sarg or anyone from the VE team and ask. I've seen Sarg answer frequently on the official rimworld discord server.
CiXwOw  [author] Feb 11 @ 12:18am
I also remember accidentally saving over some of the texture files for the new appliances, so there are some I'll need to redo. I think it's only the grill I lost, though.
CiXwOw  [author] Feb 11 @ 12:16am
@Kimo': Sorry, the holidays/summer got away from me for a bit. I'd have to take another look to refresh myself, but from memory the new system that Sarg referred me to looks like it might suffer from the same issue as the current one. While the new system is technically compatible with the pipe system, it looks like it might only accept piped resources for processing (i.e. ingredients), rather than being able to use them as a power source. I'll take another look when I have some free time, but if this is the case I'll have to think about how/if I want to proceed, as I don't know if it's a good idea to harmony patch the VE framework for compatibility reasons.
Kimo' Feb 9 @ 5:02am
Hey CiXwOw, just wondering if there is any news on that ItemProcessor issue?
CiXwOw  [author] Dec 15, 2024 @ 9:49pm
@EnderSlend: There is no bug. it involves an old system that has been planned to be replaced for some time, they just haven't gotten to it yet. This was also first discussed with them before they started using Google Forms. I have spoken to Sarg since my last comment, and he provided me with some references that should help me get around it, it's now just a matter of when I'll have time to get it done. Hopefully this weekend.
EnderSlend Dec 15, 2024 @ 11:41am
@CiXwOw I saw on another page Oskar said this, "Bugs should be reported using the google forms. We do not check or respond to bugs in comment sections."
CiXwOw  [author] Nov 30, 2024 @ 8:55pm
I might drop a comment on their workshop page and see what happens.
Kimo' Nov 30, 2024 @ 8:40pm
Ahah what a coinicidence! Glad to hear we won't have to waste good soup to a solar flare anymore lol.
I'm not sure how to proceed either, maybe try to contact Oskar on Reddit? No idea if he will respond or not, but i can't think of a better way to try to get this issue seen. Or maybe submit a bug report?
CiXwOw  [author] Nov 30, 2024 @ 8:30pm
@Kimo': Not just plans, they're pretty much ready to upload! BUT! The Pipe System doesn't support the ItemProcessor that the soup pots use, so it doesn't work yet. I submitted a pull request to the Vanilla Expanded GitHub repo with a patch to add support about 2 months ago, but they haven't reviewed it. It's possible they don't even check GitHub for pull requests, so they might not even know (or care)! I'm not sure how to proceed.
Kimo' Nov 30, 2024 @ 4:15pm
Hey CiXwOw, love your mods, they really fill a void when it comes to VE gas. I was wondering if you had any plan to add a gas version of the electric soup pot, grill, and deep fryer from VE cooking? Anyway, thanks for your work!
- Dan D Mann - Jun 11, 2024 @ 11:25pm
@Blutdrachen: They had "Magic Mr. MacGuffin's Safe-T Valve" installed at factory. Its a "safety feature"
Blutdrachen Apr 13, 2024 @ 3:51pm
Their loss. It seems like a fair risk/reward for what are essentially solar flare proof work benches that don't draw on the electrical grid.
CiXwOw  [author] Apr 13, 2024 @ 3:37pm
@Blutdrachen: I kind of agree with that, but the VE team decided they didn't want production buildings to explode (I think it's only tanks and generators that do), and I feel it's best to adhere to their design goals.
Blutdrachen Apr 13, 2024 @ 11:01am
You'd think these would explode when destroyed given the large gas tank on the model.
slimeyena Apr 11, 2024 @ 9:41pm
Many thanks!

Updated to 1.5
CiXwOw  [author] Nov 8, 2023 @ 4:35am
@Kirboh: Yes, it should be safe to add to an existing game.
Kirboh Nov 7, 2023 @ 5:46pm
Excellent! I no longer have to decide between a more powerful smithy/stove and one that won't go out during solar flares.

Is this safe to add to an existing game?
CiXwOw  [author] Oct 23, 2023 @ 8:16pm
@Moonshine Fox: I knew it must have been! Truth be told I've never actually used any of it in game, but Sir Van posted a lot of screenshots during development and I fell in love with it!
Moonshine Fox Oct 23, 2023 @ 1:47pm
Yes that was it thank you! The style reminded me of yours and it threw me off.

Was there a version of this that you did that was chemfuel based?
CiXwOw  [author] Jul 5, 2023 @ 12:23am
@Malnormalulo (they/them): Oops! Thanks!
Malnormalulo Jun 13, 2023 @ 4:33am
FYI the links to VHGE in the Contents and Credits section point to the wrong page.
CiXwOw  [author] Jan 22, 2023 @ 6:33am
@Ordpus: Oh wow, I'm kind of stunned that I missed that when I searched for n's. Thanks for letting me know!
载入中... Jan 21, 2023 @ 11:38am
Oh, it's just I found there is an "n" character outside <ThingDef/> at the line 98 of VFEProduction-Gas.xml when I was trying to print all the def xmls. It's not a bug that will produce error, I found it just because it breaks the format of exported def log file
CiXwOw  [author] Jan 21, 2023 @ 3:52am
@Ordpus: Is this a joke?
载入中... Jan 20, 2023 @ 7:46pm
There in an extra "n" in the def file which should be removed
CiXwOw  [author] Oct 23, 2022 @ 12:40pm
@Velxra: You're welcome! Hopefully I'll have the rest done by tomorrow! I haven't had much time to experiment with the new gas system, so I hope I have the balancing right.

Thanks for dating so quickly!

@Starempire42: Funny you should ask ;)
Starempire42 Oct 23, 2022 @ 11:03am
1.4 update?
VelxraTV Oct 21, 2022 @ 5:00pm
Please update to 1.4
jfd Oct 9, 2022 @ 7:41am
Hm, geysers are better in my opinion id say. But we will see if the new feature turns out to be better in the end.
CiXwOw  [author] Oct 9, 2022 @ 5:17am
@jfd: I just remembered that the new standalone gas mod the VE team will be releasing soon removes the geysers entirely. They are changing over to a scanning system similar to what they use for Chemfuel Expanded iirc
CiXwOw  [author] Oct 9, 2022 @ 5:16am
@jfd: I'm not a part of the Vanilla Expanded team, so I'm not involved in the actual gas system. I'm just a fellow gas lover like yourself :)
jfd Oct 9, 2022 @ 5:09am
I see. I hope you will add a lot of options to choose from. I personally like gas very much and I always respawn frequently just so I get it close to where I will build my colony. Please keep settings in mind when you seperate the mod. Just a request from a fellow gas enjoyer.
CiXwOw  [author] Oct 9, 2022 @ 5:05am
@jfd: The actual gas system, such as vent spawns, is a part of Vanilla Furniture Expanded - Power (for now, it is being moved to a separate mod in 1.4)
jfd Oct 9, 2022 @ 2:52am
Where can I edit stuff for this mod. I cant seem to find it and the gas spot spawns very rarely not on every map. I would like to edit this if its possible.
CiXwOw  [author] Sep 30, 2022 @ 9:20am
@GreenistTheBest: Do you mean like the soup pot from VCE? If so, I already have textures for it ready to go, however the code it uses is currently incompatible with gas. End of semester is getting close, so I don't know when I'll have the time to work on it, but it hopefully won't be long!
Viri Sep 30, 2022 @ 3:57am
is gas pot possible?
CiXwOw  [author] Aug 22, 2022 @ 11:08am
@Trim: pls no
Rye! Aug 22, 2022 @ 9:43am
yes, but what about the gas vents????
Angelic Jul 9, 2022 @ 3:05pm
Maybe this comment section is huffing gas
Gerewoatle Jul 8, 2022 @ 7:59pm
For what it's worth, I can anecdotally confirm that the gas vent was laggy as shit.
