Just download "Voice Acted Colonists" it has combine voices and event sounds as this one included.

This mod changed the event sounds, for example of betrayal, infestation or arresting a colonist; how do I do that in 1.5? It seems like the game does not apply the format this mod uses (anymore). Example: Playing the Solar Flare audio "SolarFlare1" in Folder "Sounds" despite "Sound.xml" saying so in the "Defs" folder.

Those voice-packs have been removed as their original creator no longer felt it being appropriate to maintain them themselves for personal reasons.

Anyone willing to take up the mantle is more then welcome to do so.

I remember their being a mod for this that added alot of fantasy/medieval voices, cant seem to find it now though- Still a good mod

It's almost usable in 1.5,but I can't change colonists'voice because I can't find mod option in menu

This specific mod has been discontinued. I have taken upon myself to initiate a Remake which is currently in the works with the blessings of the original creators and hopefully will be released soon.

Update related to VAC/VARC

Well was not expecting that. Ouroboros was not aware VAC was in development before paying for this mod to be updated and is quite thrilled someone else is taking the time/financial burden to maintain it and straight up offered to sell full ownership of this mod to me.

We're going to talk about it in finder details but its very likely the mods are just going to merge.

Update:

Alexis has informed me we are a couple weeks out when asked for a timeline estimate of release. While not too busy to continue plonking away at the mod I have been informed they do have other immediate activities at least occupying some brain space and time but I'm not rushing him, people gotta live their lives.

On my end I'm still organizing Voice Packs. The base pack included in the mod (HL2) and an additional voice pack addon are complete and I've set sights on the next one.

I am however starting to get burnout as it takes me about 30 minutes per voice with the files on hand and I've finished 32 in total atm while some packs my ambitions are getting the better of me. So this in an invite (or plea for help) to a noob simple Discord Server I created for people interested in being more informed or getting their hands dirty before final release on making more packs available~

I am already assigning audio clips to a "Injury" directory as a pull list in the event such a feature is viable for colonists only at the very least, wither that pull list is added on release or not is still being debated. Assigning them to hostile/neutral pawns I know its "possible" as "Realistic Human Sounds" does exactly that but its more of a matter on how complex it would be to add such a feature for it to be included in the initial release which I imagine it would be.

However as it was not in the original mod and another mod does exactly that our goal is to get a functional base mod first so people can enjoy what voices are available on release and start making their own voice packs as soon as possible. So unfortunately it's not on the list of priorities atm but I would be eager for it to be a feature at some point~

By the way, if there are plans to allow pain and death voices to be added, it would be great if they could be randomly assigned to enemy and neutral pawns. That's a feature I've always hoped would be added to the VARC.

Nothing is stopping people from gathering files to compile them for when the mod is released as that will take a chunk of time. Less work for me and more voices available soon after release (I'm spending hours listening to Voice-Line clips starting with Half Life 2 because reasons...) The voice-line cap is "Technically" unlimited I've been told as long as the files are labeled properly in a text file to be included in a list. Although without being compressed to .ogg files it will get chonky

Radio On/Off clicks will be Toggle-able for people not wanting to simulate their colonist talking into a Radio. The current voice categories would be:

Select
Move
Attack
Downed
DowningPawn

Update:

So I'm just giving a current timeline on the project. The mod request has been taken by an Alexis Popcorn with Taranchuk agreeing to be a Consultant on the project.

I have also received messages from very helpful people offering audio files/sources for voices to be implemented. While this is greatly appreciated (No seriously thank you) I most likely will end up sorting and dealing with the voice-pack of the base mod and I do not intend to overly bloat it for reasons which leads me to the next point of topic:

Alexis has shown me they are writing the mod to be very easy to add new voices with no coding knowledge required. So it should be simple to create Voice-Pack Addons for it and I plan on making such additional packs and would welcome others to do so as well.

For people waiting on an update:

I've been snooping and talking to Taranchuk directly and as R14N stated they are not willing to update this mode without Ouroboros's direct permission for this mod specifically but Ouroboros has gone Radio Silent for no known reason even when directly messaged while appearing "Online"

So at this point wither Ouroboros comes out of the bushes or not eventually I've put forth a Mod Request Commission for a complete Remake on the Discord Rimworld Mod Market. Unfortunately Taranchuk themselves are busy and can't take it, so hopefully someone will pick it up soon and bring life back into our colonists voices

I activated this mode hoping it would still work. Sadly It only played audio selecting a colonist and I can't accesss the mod settings to change their voice-lines :C

I honestly would pay to have this mod updated. This mod single-handedly adds 1000% more personality to your colonists.

I talked to the Taranchuk, whom Ouroboros commisioned for this mod, and he says he won't update it unless the mod author gives him permission too. Howerver, the mod author won't respond to any of his messages. So unless someone is confident forking it temporarily we just have to hope this guy comes back. :tobdog:

maybe im missing it, but is there a way to hear a preview of the voices in the settings page? It's a bit tedious going into the settings page to select which voice I want a pawn, then exiting to actually hear the voice, and then going back in to select the next voice, and then exiting and repeating until I find the voice I want for the pawn.

i wish i would know how to do all of this, there is a game called escape from tarkov they have some really really good combat voices with slurs and stuff its super cool i wish i could add them into this.

also please give us a option to deactivate the radio sound ,it would be really cool , thanks for your work man!

Two things:

A list of all the voices somewhere on this worshop page would be nice

And also, perhaps you should add CJ and Big Smoke from GTA San Andreas as options, if they aren't already. I'd check before making the suggestion if I had the time rn.
