Btw, I'm not sure if you noticed but there is some type of mobile tablet or something that is between the feet of the players (non AI). I'm assuming it has something to do with the goggles (?) but doesn't look like it's in the right spot.

Yeah, I don't like putting anything in that visually removes from the setting and prefer to try and do it in interface. I set the text to last for 8 seconds after spawn but I can easily make it so it only shows on first spawn. It's a tough one for getting the right balance of light and dark areas, I'll consider turning some more lights on around the place.

I like the bright areas in the building. Though, I wish there were more around the map. Really bright. Enough to make you need to constantly turn on/off night vision. Really make it a challenge.

I also like the instructions you added. The only bad thing about it being attached to the player rather then a sign(s) on a wall(s) somewhere is that it appears every time you respawn.

I've added some text on spawn for instructions for the NV, turned a few more lights on and added the street sign by T spawn, also as a bonus all monitors now break if shot (they also randomly select the screen image when the map loads so they are different every game). Once again, thank you for the feedback and I very much appreciated watching the video :)

Played a TDM with some buddies tonight and they had the "night vision doesn't work until you die" bug. What's odd is that it's never happened to me. But, if it continues and you're going to add how-to signs, you may want to mention that too.

What?? That's awesome! Thank you.

Btw, I made a few videos showing off the mod/map. Here's one...

I really appreciate your feedback, I'll have another look at this tomorrow for more improvements and am planning a street sign with "Azwell street" on one of the walls as a little thank you :)

Yeah, there definitely needs to be more bright areas. I just played a long TDM match and could probably count on one hand the amount of times I felt I had to turn night vision off.

Also, I noticed I had to tell everyone about how to enable the night goggles. Please add some instructional signs around the map, especially near the starting spawns.

PS - Having the goggle color (outside) different for each team was an AWESOME idea!

Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into this today and see what I can do, appreciate it :)

This is awesome!!

My only suggestion would be to make areas that are pretty bright to contrast the dark areas. That way you're not only forced to use the night vision, but also forced to turn it off. Right now the entire map is dark enough to keep it on. maybe around the street lights?

Also, if you can, maybe rename the map something like "Anvil - Night Vision". Just (Night) makes it sound like the night version of a normal map. The Night Vision needs to be advertised, because it is SO cool.

I've also darkened the map considerably per your feedback, thank you.

I have managed to get the nightvision working with base modes :D
Azwell Jul 21, 2022 @ 1:46pm
It could be something like "Anvil - Nightvision TDM"

Can have a version with "custom" as the game mode, but have it play as DM or TDM instead of a custom mode?
Spin  [author] Jul 21, 2022 @ 12:35pm
hi, sadly the goggles currently only work with a custom mode I'm afraid. I tried to get them working with default game modes but it didn't work sadly.

I like the concept, but I have a few suggestions...

1. Darken the map, or at lease some areas. 99% of the map is light enough to be able to see without the goggles.

2. Upload a DM/TDM version. (I really wanted to play this map/mode, but bots seem to not populate).

I'm curious to see how the new game mode comes out. But in the meantime please create a DM/TMD version of the map. I'd love to try the goggles in DM/TDM.
