Interesting, I didn't realize that was an issue - shows you how rarely the Dakota Chapter sticks around. I'll put that on my list of things for a winter update. At the very least I'll get them a chance to get into the Ledger (unless there's lore that swears them off like Texas)
blueshadow294 Nov 25 @ 7:47pm
It would be interesting to see what you can make for a Dakota Chapter (Swords of Hayman) Branch for lost hills
Even a simple branch that adds them to the ledger since the owb devs aren’t going to be touching the ledger in a while to simple add them. As they arn't on the ledger lost hills can't assist them when they have to fight standingrock and then have to fight manatoba or lanburg to get to Gateway.

I see I see, thank you for the response!

@White Diddy - You can use your Operatives for this. You can create one with a special operation in any country that borders an existing cell. Some focuses grant you some around the map, and it's primarily used to raid for high-tech power armor and energy weapons from other people, though there's some other options available.

@ShaquilleO'Heal

The tree is balanced around one Scribe Team, but there are ways to get more.

You get rewarded with a second one and a Research Slot for completing enough of the Expeditionary Technologies in Brotherhood R&D. You have to complete two sections and pay Army XP.

The second Scribe Team is for people who take the ability to build in other chapters or leave R&D alone for a couple years.

Alternatively though it's actually way harder to get, the Reformers Prestige Project includes an additional Scribe Team as one of its bonuses, though it's mostly flavor at that point in the game (At least until we get the rest of the map! Haha!)
ShaquilleO'Heal Nov 3 @ 3:44pm
How on earth do I get my hands on more scribe teams? It's bottlenecking my playthrough hard.
white_diddy Nov 1 @ 9:34pm
question, how do i do a circle of steel? seems really sick and i was told the shi made one in me... how do i create one?
Paradox Song  [author] Oct 23 @ 7:55am
Yeah, please do. Im kind of invested in this bug now, hahaha! Feel free to ping me in your #bug-reports post should it happen.
Jorde Oct 21 @ 4:19pm
I ended up restarting the Mojave Brotherhood campaign without this mod, and experienced no crashes up to 2279 (when I ended it). If it's an issue again, I will. I love crashes with a nebulous cause.
Paradox Song  [author] Oct 21 @ 4:00pm
Yeah, you definitely do have an Operative issue, but the location of that error (I did check the whole log FWIW - most of the LHE errors you're seeing there are harmless - they are all map mod compatibility stuff that errors only because you don't have it, and the code will be bypassed since you don't have them on) is in the core, vanilla, OWB files.

My assumption is that the vanilla operative traits causing issue is being added or is only present on the moj operative(s). I may be able to fix it for you anyways but I am not very active at the moment.

If you can reproduce it without any submods on, you can report it in #bug-reports on the OWB discord. We have someone else there reporting a Mojave Territories crash, but they didn't provide a save or error log.
Jorde Oct 16 @ 9:08pm
Oh sorry I didn't mean anything like that. Here's a Pastebin link:
https://pastebin.com/dTaYxSsU

I was playing as the Mojave Brotherhood. It was always a specific day Feb 10, 2276, and it didn't happen with just OWB enabled. The error log is mentioning a bunch of this at the bottom, so it might be Circle of Steel operations:

[20:31:39][2276.02.19.01][trigger.cpp:457]: common/unit_leader/00_operative_traits.txt:257: operative_leader_mission: Invalid Scope, supported: Character, provided: None
[20:31:39][2276.02.19.01][trigger.cpp:457]: common/unit_leader/00_operative_traits.txt:303: operative_leader_operation: Invalid Scope, supported: Character, provided: None

I appreciate the effort, but it would be a bit crazy for me to download anything from Mediafire. If you throw it on Pastebin or copy-paste the relevant portion in Bugs/Issues I will take a look.

I only touch one operative-related thing though, which is to add the unique Circle of Steel operations which are all limited to the BOS. Does this date-specific crash occur with only this mod enabled?

If you can't answer that, does it occur only when you are or aren't playing the BOS?
Jorde Oct 14 @ 6:02pm
My save is experiencing a crash at a specific date with this mod. Seems to be something to do with operatives according to the error log. I uploaded it here

Tyronis2054 Oct 12 @ 2:26pm
Awesome thanks for the follow up response, I'm done with my Macarthur game so time to check this out and along with the 2 other BoS sub mods I mentioned.. I'll report back how it goes!
Paradox Song  [author] Oct 11 @ 7:07am
Hah, thank you! I am on the main team, though life has made me busy...

I'm not aware of any load order issues, I don't modify the Washington or Shi trees or files, all LHE content involving them uses the Lost Hills files. Darkness Falls I know is very aware of LHE and last time I reached out didn't need me to do anything for compatibility.

If you do hear of any issues maybe come back and post in Bugs/Issues for me? :lunar2020ratinablanket:
Tyronis2054 Oct 10 @ 3:33pm
Ohh another question, I've been reading up on 2 other Sub Mods, SF Chapter and Darkness Fall I've read they all work together quite well. The question I got is the load order? I assume it's this mod first, then SF Chapter, and Darkness falls after? not always sure if Load Orders are a think in HOI4 like it is for other PDX mods .. lol..
Tyronis2054 Oct 10 @ 8:05am
thanks for the response!, got it, alright it will be installed then along side ECR my next game which will hopefully very soon, looking forward to trying this mod !. Based on how all this reads, it's crazy you haven't joined the main team , lol.

The Lost Hills AI is supported! It's still unlikely to survive without assistance, but every new decision, event, focus, etc. has had custom AI weights added, and many depend on ruling elder or party. The vanilla aspects have been touched up as well, and the AI can use Paladins.

There's also a number of conditional checks throughout the Lost Hills AI with a player bias, so it'll prefer decisions which give players events back, reply positively to events sent by brotherhood players more often, and do chapter mini-trees that have a player leading the nation earlier.
Tyronis2054 Oct 10 @ 5:49am
Hi, question, planning to use this mod very soon, but wondering are you meant to only use this mod if you want to play Lost Hills? Like how does the AI handle Lost Hills with this mod if you don't play as them? Basically planning to use this mod and the East Coast Rebirth mod, but not sure If I'll play Lost Hills right away as my next game, but I do like what this mod can offer and all for Lost Hills so would still like to install it if the AI can also do well as Lost Hills.
R2Paul Sep 29 @ 2:21pm
ah ok thanks for the quick answer
Paradox Song  [author] Sep 29 @ 1:14pm
Nope! It will reset the focus tree progress to the beginning for the BoS, which is a limitation of the game unfortunately...
R2Paul Sep 29 @ 12:10pm
hey quick question is this mod save game compatible?
Paradox Song  [author] Sep 29 @ 6:12am
Hah, that makes sense! No problem, have fun!
Meatgrinderman985 Sep 29 @ 4:55am
I figured out what my issue was, the planes I was trying to do it were just transports lmao. Also thanks for pointing me towards the simulators, there's just so much content that it's hard to grasp it all.
Paradox Song  [author] Sep 26 @ 12:23pm
You couldn't train? That's definitely not from this mod, air training absolutely does work. The Underground Simulators also provide an air XP option which is the intended method.
Meatgrinderman985 Sep 26 @ 8:29am
What's the best way to get the needed 25 air exp for the Shi BOS? Or any way at all actually, was struggling to even get started with it despite having some planes and an airbase since I couldn't train for some reason.
Paradox Song  [author] Sep 20 @ 5:00pm
Same as vanilla, there's a decision available when the reformers are High Elder to recognize the NCR that gets you access! FWIW, it's very much intended for you to beeline to it or not do it at all, though the Reformers have full BoS path available to them if that's not your jam.
jaune.arc1983 Sep 20 @ 4:53pm
Hey, Just curious on how to gain access to the steel rangers tree
Paradox Song  [author] Sep 19 @ 4:54am
When you finish it, it makes a bunch of the underground construction decisions finish faster, including generating new slots.

I had no idea somebody submodded my submod, that's amazing.
MrKleanupGuy Sep 19 @ 2:08am
I don't know if this mod, or Lost Hills 2.0. But what does Improved Underground Construction Research do?
Wilson III Aug 31 @ 3:03am
Ah, that makes more sense. Thanks
Paradox Song  [author] Aug 30 @ 12:10pm
Send Advisors goes into effect immediately. You're at risk of losing your paladins for 200 days.
Wilson III Aug 29 @ 2:19pm
Hey, I just wanted to ask why does the "Send Advisors to the Mojave" decision have the requirement for the Mojave BOS to already be at war with the Mojave Territories? That requirement combined with the 200 days it takes for the decision to come into effect pretty much makes the decision useless as the brotherhood are either already dead by the time it executes or have already taken enough land to win without my help.
Paradox Song  [author] Aug 11 @ 2:11pm
Nope, you're all good! I've taken them off as I think it's caused more questions than its saved me, haha!

Circle of Steel cells enable a few operations (such as raiding advanced tech, giving a nationwide supply debuff which is... alright given current vanilla balancing) in places where you have them. Once the cell is gone, you can't do those anymore.
Space_Lettuce_OG Aug 7 @ 12:55am
Are the sub-map-mods actually required for this to function properly, or will it work without them(since they currently won't work with the current version of OWB)?
The-Freedom-Fighter Jul 21 @ 10:07am
So what does the circle of steel cells do?
Paradox Song  [author] Jul 14 @ 3:18am
There is Improved Bunker Construction your scribes can research, which speed it up by about 20 days (and speeds up moving factories underground proportionally), I will note it though!
Wall-E Jul 13 @ 5:53pm
just a thought more or less, love the mod as i love bos. would be cool if you could do a soft update to the bunker upgrades to balance them out a bit more. like with order of the spade. just making it so you get more than 1 building slot per 60 days. or make it so there are more options to get more.
Paradox Song  [author] Jul 10 @ 4:55pm
@Danceymetal what chapters did you manually release? The following tag (should...) all get automatically released: BSF MOJ GRD WBH TCA MXC MNC TBH BMW BAP BGF BLS
Paradox Song  [author] Jul 8 @ 5:59pm
Oof, a lot to unpack there. What mods were you running? There's a focus in each chapter's tree that tells you chapters will be more likely to send volunteers - had you completed that? Was The Cause still at war with Washington when you triggered NCR War Volunteers?

Foreign council definitely seems off - chapters should be released automatically if you hold their territory, unless you'd already cored it yourself, I suppose. That's the easy one for me to look at lol
Danceymetal Jul 6 @ 10:54am
2 thing i've noticed, the first is that when I went to war with the NCR I did not recieve any volunteers from surviving chapters, they did get the spirit but like for the sisters of steel it said a gamerule prevented them from sending them, and the cause did not get the spirit at all. second thing is that "A Foreign Council" did not provide a decision to send aid or let me release chapters, I had to manually release them which gives the default BOS puppet tree which also stops stuff like San Franciso chapter giving you stuff in your Focus Tree
Paradox Song  [author] Jun 27 @ 6:18am
Ah, sorry. I don't actually support that. I've put in compatibility patches for the map expansion mods, so if they're on-map you can send them aid. (If there's any issues with it... let me know!)
Felix Cited Jun 27 @ 5:32am
Which focus allows you to send aid to the off map chapters? I like being able to keep the gulf chapter alive evem if they are off screen haha
Paradox Song  [author] Jun 15 @ 5:11am
Yep! I'll push out an empty update, just to make it clear at a glance.
Felix Cited Jun 14 @ 1:09pm
Still working with all the updates?
Paradox Song  [author] Jun 1 @ 6:35pm
Yes. Those are the mapmods I support, but you can play without them.

I list them since I get fewer questions about if they're compatible that way, haha!
Kuoki May 31 @ 6:37am
does this mod work right now? ECR and its other dependencies are outdated
Paradox Song  [author] May 23 @ 3:03pm
No problem, I wish you the best! It's definitely not an easy fight hahaha, I still don't win reliably. I wrote up a guide on the original Lost Hills release(in one of the owb communities... discord?), but a lot of that doesn't apply anymore.

Equipment Capture Ratio is very useful, so enhancing that through research/spirits/leader traits is all pretty helpful.
Dark Sage May 22 @ 11:14pm
Hey, thanks for the response. I read t before posting and I'm pretty sure I fulfilled more than 2. Maybe there are still mechanics I don't understand and I am doing something wrong here. I'll continue to try, but 7 times in a row is frustrating :)
Paradox Song  [author] May 22 @ 2:09pm
Hi Dark Sage, please see the FAQ at the end of the description. The BoS-NCR war is not easy after the power armour nerf, but the mod makes the war easier than vanilla.
Dark Sage May 22 @ 9:36am
I just can't win with this.

Easiest difficulty, everything researched, army of setries, best powerarmor an plasma rifles with expanded divisions (like 40 divisions when I tested with debug mode), 7-10 years pass and either Legion or NCR just steamroll me. Best I could do is survive few moths. I just don't know what I do wrong...
