this would work well with the cannibal mods out there....... give you a good reason to chop up your "food" rather than stockpile it

It would be cool to see an option for zombies to resurrect into Sprinters, similar to the Crimson Heads from Resident Evil 1 Remake

@aquelarrefox I'm not too sure how to add a resurrection chance, but I've added a 30 minute timer.

I also ran into the issue with custom resurrection time not being respected. I found that after quitting and reloading your save seems to cause the issue. I tracked it down and updated the mod code locally to get it to work. Is there a way/place to put in a request for the changes (github/gitlab/etc.)?

I would love a version of the mod with a setting for chance to resurrect and an option for 30min revive. This thing its great i love undead zombies very much over viral zombies.

I'm not rly updating the mod any more, but you can bury the bodies or burn them to prevent resurrection. Otherwise anyone is welcome to patch the mod.

Dunno if you're still working on this mod, but I think it'd be cool to add a percentage of times of zombie will resurrect, so they're not completely unkillable or something.

Nah, it's okay, I got into the mod files myself and just changed the time of all the options to the one I needed. I didn't delete the comment because others could also have such an error, but now I understand how stupid it sounds)

@Турбокишмиш it works perfectly fine for me, so I have to assume that some other mods are interfering. Are there any other mods you use that edit the zombie lore settings?

Also, the mod doesn't work properly in multiplayer. It's a known issue and I don't know how to fix that.

The custom resurrection time in the sandbox settings doesn't work. Zombies are resurrected in an hour and no later. Please fix the bug, I really liked this mod😭:steamsad:

Hi! English is not my first language, so I immediately apologize for any mistakes that may be related to this. I really like your work, but I would like to see more settings, for example, random resurrection or the ability to select the percentage of resurrected zombies in the settings.

Hah @Trombonaught, I seem to remember the original author of the code mentioning that there was something about the original code that didn't allow for timed resurrection. I bet you found a more common sense way to write the code but ended up with the same issue xD

Hey just wanted to let you know, it looks like my mod will reanimate on MP but it will NOT obey any time delays on that reanimation. I've had a few days at it but can't crack it, it reanimates as soon as the game's update loop catches on. So, mine doesn't quite obsolete yours!
Although, it looks like the latest unstable build adds the same functionality as your mod. But for people who want to play that now on stable, your mod would still be handy! Sorry for the mixup.

PS just in case you're curious, the "OnContainerUpdate" approach used here didn't sync in MP because the fakeDead bool doesn't appear to get synced except on corpse creation. So by the time the container is created and updates, it's already too late. So instead I set the fakeDead bool on the zombie rather than the container, because when the zombie dies the server syncs fakeDead on its corpse across clients as part of creating the container

I'm absolutely certain I've no idea how to fix it for multiplayer. There's some sort of interaction between the language you use to code mods for PZ (Lua) and the code that PZ servers use (Java). And it's just not comprehensible to me. I got into coding Lua just to update 245 trioxin, but that's the extent of my knowledge of coding. Sorry,

I did want a mod like this tho that zeds pop up from graves at a cemetery. Is that possible?

@Fookin Diablo sounds like a bad interaction with another mod. I use the 15 minutes setting for testing so I know it works without any others.

Could you add some more sandbox options?
Stuff like resurrection chance, maybe a random chance setting for both resurrection time and chance, for maximum unpredictability.

Just tested the mod on 15 minutes. All zombies are invisible until they "Wake up". So the mod is producing nonstop invisible resurrecting zombies.

hi can i check if there is any way to kill the zombies in a certain way which would kill them for good? like maybe a head/knife attack or something, or will they always keep getting back up?

imo, turn off zombie respawns and set reanimation to 12 or so hours. now you can pretty easily clear zombies at home but if you want to go on a loot run far from home then your on a timer to smack, grab, and run before the zombies get back up
