I was supposed to eat that!
absolutely hands down the best comment ive read in a long time! xD
I recommend you use the mod "pick up and haul" as well as "while you are nearby". That way, one trip of hauling plant will get all done and random hauling will be triggered when your pawn is nearby.
idk if it's possible, but I'd love a similar mod but for harvesting plants. getting real tired of marking a bunch of plants for harvesting, only to wonder why we have no food - cause nobody actually hauled anything and it got eaten by animals
In version 1.5, this mod will have an issue where it is not possible to slaughter friendly animals
shearing or milking only gives a tiny amount of a stack, so it's less efficient to immediately haul them.
So no, this mod does not make them haul after sheering or milking.
I had plans to make a mod so pawns sheer or milk into inventory (especially with the help of "Pick up and Haul) but I haven't been playing rimworld for a while.
Vanilla bug: pawns are only smart enough to haul the MEAT, so any pelts and other byproducts will just be tossed on the ground
The vanilla game already does "haul after butchering".
Check out the bill setting in your butcher table, there should be a checkbox for hauling.
"Put items into inventory" is not the samething as "haul".
It requires the mod "pick up and haul" or manual control, which is beyond the scope of this mod.
I do have plans to make another mod for harvesting (not just trees, but more for crops) and putting the yields into inventory and then later upload them. That would be a much more complicated mod and there are many edge cases I need to sort out.
Haul after cutting small trees are not efficient, even if you do not use pick up and haul.
For example, a cactus yields 15 woods. If you cut then haul, you would need to make 5 trips to harvest 75 woods. If you just keep cutting and haul later, you only need one trip to haul 75 woods.
Yes, your opinion is understandable. We can take a look at how hunting works in vanilla game. Pawns will hunt and kill the animal and immediately haul the corpse. Some people would find that counter productive as well. So one way people "fix" that is to force the hunter to stay in a area that does not include any storage, so that the hunter will keep hunting and let someone else to haul.
In my opinion, hunting is skilled and takes time. It is more favorable to haul for slaughtering than hunting.
At the end of the day, if the hauling distance is short, it is in general more favorable to haul. You can set the "max distance" setting if you do not want your handler to walk too much.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Thinking about it again, there are a few issues:
* Tending is usually already the highest priority. Not much value added by making a mod.
* Sometimes people set tending of certain pawns to low priority, because that pawn might be bad at tending. After all, medical skill matters a LOT in tending.
This mod didn't have settings in 1.3. The settings page only contained "show debug log" option which is only available at dev mod. It's working as intended.
If you want the new feature and settings added in v0.2.1, you have to upgrade to 1.4. New features won't be released to 1.3 anymore.
现在你可以用“最大搬运距离”这个新选项来决定AI是否搬运了。
Updated this mod to 1.4
Will update my other mods soon.
