What are the commands to actually turn the direction of the drone. front back left and right are pretty easy, i assumed E and Q would be to turn.... they dont seem to do anything

Quick tips for anyone printing this in survival:
Make sure it can connect to a connecter after printing, it needs hydrogen.
After it's finished and fueled, make sure to recompile both the Programmable blocks.

I managed to get everything set up and running, and the drones performed their mining ballet flawlessly—it’s truly a sight to see.

However, not for long.

I have to admit that the entire setup feels quite cumbersome.
While it works to some extent, issues frequently arise, even after just reloading a save. The screens often go blank, requiring you to set them up again. Additionally, recompiling while the drones are docked tends to disrupt everything.

Overall, it’s not very stable or reliable. In comparison, PAM performs better. That said, I’ll still give it a try.

Hi Tangerine,

It looks like you need to reassign the LCD. In my case, it was displaying on a random LCD over my base.

To fix this, rename the desired LCD to something unique, such as LCD-Drone-Interface. Then, on the Programmable Block ("Mining Computer SCAM"), run the following command:

command:add-panel: LCD-Drone-Interface

After that, hop into the seat, and it should work as expected.

Note to anyone in the future, this mod does not work. The main screen thats blue turns up black, and the start job button gives no response. Even after recompiling and making sure Scripts are enabled it still seems to be broken.

Hi @Nyxborne the blue interface shows up when you enter the control seat on the dispatcher (the one assigned as main control seat in the PB custom data) and move your mouse so it can pick up the input.

How are you getting the blue interface in your first video at 1.26? I've pasted your blueprint, updated the script to it's current version on both miners and dispatcher, and run it perfectly. But i can't figure out how you got that screen to show the blue grid

I tried transferring the data to my own ship. I built programmable blocks and copied everything but it gave me an error. Anyone was successful in transferring over the data from the programmable blocks on the dispatcher to their own ship. I had the dispatcher operating while I was trying to put the run the data on my blocks, do I have to destroy the dispatcher and the projector for my blocks on my ship to work.

So having built my own drone of a similar size, and installed the same parts/blocks and copy/pasting the scripts/names from this miner to my custom miner...

For some reason it just doesn't work at all. Can't even get the command menu to run on my miner.

well, I spawn the dispatcher to test things out, I spawn a drone, I dock the drone, then go to an ore deposit, drive the drone to the ore deposit, PRESS E TO START A JOB AND NOTHING HAPPENS.... no one seems to have issue with the drone thought so what am I doing wrong ?

I found... I'm not sure if I'd call it a bug, but maybe a design flaw. If you are using a printer to put this together, building from the merge block out, the min3r programmable block may try to reference blocks that have not been built yet and crash, requiring a restart/recompile once it is fully built.

Got this set up and going but when my drone drills down, when its full it only comes back up to even with the ground and then just sits there. Any help would be wonderful

I have reached a point of docking the drone, but after pressing 4 and seeing the screen, I get Fatal setup error, Next scan 7s. Last: Remote is missing. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Please help!

I've used your framework (drone + dispatcher) based on cheerkin SCAM for a Space Mining Drone Carrier.
It works well in asteroid and moon environment.
The only thing I don't understand is why, with the drone thrusters running, the ship tends to rotate slowly (about 0.02 m/s) around its longitudinal axis (Dampeners on). The drones are four and docked in line along this axis.

hiya so i have added the dispatcher and printed my drones but cant seem to be able to find them in the remote controle menu, has anyone else had this problem, i made sure everything was built on the drone aswell

it fixed instalation of control unit.. i tried build them befeore control room for better movement etc.. but now its working... but starting fight with "Fix me" call

I actually use piston pull out since I build print chamber 3x3 (BG) and its connected to supply but even when i say manually for XU-3 tank to stockpile it cant take any

Hi @LivegonCZE, to refill the hydrogen after printing you will need to place the drone on a connector, that has an access to hydrogen supply.

I often use a separate ship that pulls freshly printed drone from the printer and places it on the connector (this is probably the easiest way).

ok. seems to be an issue with the sorter in my system. rebuild the whole system multiple times to find that one out.

1 more question if you don't mind, the drone doesn't seem to want to fill up with hydrogen when on the connectors i setup for it. the conveyers are all routed fine. weirdly the connector meant to catch the drone after i release it from the merge block does fill it.

looked into it in creative. seems changing names doesn't really stick as in making 2 seperate systems on the same grid. and the second placed one takes all control. which is what i disabled in my survival game. which was causing the errors. guess ill make 1 scam and 1 pam system instead hope that works XD

Is there a way for 2 sets of these miners to work on the same static grid but do different jobs?
today i spend hours building up such a setup. making sure to rename everything correctly. SCAM1 for 1 side and SCAM2 for the other. but my drones still went to the wrong side. (maybe cos of the tag in the script) after i changed that tag tho. nothing would work properly. (but i'm not sure if it's due to the change i made)

It was mostly to reduce weight and avoid complexity of two previous drones.

Thanks for your help again! I finally set everything up in my copy of the XU-3 and it works perfectly!
May I ask, why did you desided not to add stone sorter/ejector? Seems to be nearly standard option for all auto- and manual miners in the Workshop. Even with adaptive mining on, your drone still picks up a lot of stones. Not that I am complaining, though. Just curious. :-)

Thanks for the reply! I figured out the dispatcher, not without some hustle, using your tutorial video. :)
I was more interested in the XU-3 settings, for both timers and control block.
I figured out the "undock" timer actions by spawning it in a separate playthrough in creative mode.
For anyone, interested, the undock timer actions are:
1. Batteries recharge on/off
2. HydroTank stockpilr off
3. Forward-gyro override on/off
4. docka switch lock
5. autopillock-remcom -nertia dumpers on/off

The other two were impossible to figure out without your help, so, thanks again!

Hi @SaQSoN, For the dispatcher - the command to take control over the interface is "cc". You need to run the PB a-menucommand with such argument. Running it again will disable the interface and bring back the control over the drone.
Alternatively you can run the same PB (a-menucommand) with the arguments:
- up
- down
- enter
- esc
to navigate through interactive menu.

When it comes to the drone itself, there is only 1 timer block - "Adaptive mining".
Actions in this timer block are:
1. run programmable block "a-min3r" with argument "toggle:adaptive-mining"
2. Corner LCD Flat Bottom On/Off

Can you, please, list/describe all action setups for the XU-3 timers and remote control blocks? As I already mentioned somewhere else, if one builds/prints the parts of the drone in a wrong order, the action setups from those blocks could be lost and the drone becomes partially or completely useless without properly set up actions.

Yes, exactly. That would help me to troubleshoot the problem. Those drones may experience some issues related to the configuration on the server, and thus it is not always possible to tell what's the issue right away
