Yeah, it's working again. That was fast.
Freiya  [author] Mar 25 @ 12:00pm
@Dreagon, It should be good now...
CA changed something for some reason that makes all mods containing packed files with upper case letters in the name crash at launch.
Dreagon Mar 25 @ 11:34am
Just so you know, this mod is causing a CTD on launch so it needs an update.

Does anyone else notice that there seems to be a cap on how much -paying- people for their settlements affects the economic value score?
Looks like you can only swing the economic value score by 15 points via money, at least based on cursory observation.

If that cap can be removed imo that would be the biggest improvement.

I've started more than a few wars over a single settlement. My allies thank you.
NYET Jun 19, 2024 @ 6:31am
Great mod, thanks mate. Your mods are exactly what the games needs to stop me hating my allies lol
Freiya  [author] Jun 13, 2024 @ 12:47am
@Tartalius, The impact of this mod can vary a lot depending on the region since it only affects the "Relative Faction Strength" and "Economic Value".
Tartalius Jun 12, 2024 @ 2:50pm
Doesn't seem to work, don't see any difference from before and after the mod. Gonna try other one.
Freiya  [author] May 9, 2024 @ 5:37am
I updated how this mod works to make it have a bigger impact on the trade system, it now changes 3 things :
1. The penalty when trying to trade the most recently acquired region has been changed from 10 to 1.
2. The penalty when trying to trade a region from a province owned entirely by the AI from 50 to 10.
3. The multiplier used to evaluate the "Economic value" of a region from 0.02 to 0.01.

Note that the first 2 penalties are shown as "Relative faction strength" malus in the trade tooltip.

I'm missing one settlement in a province, occupied by chaos dwarfs 2 turns ago. It's tier 1 and has a goblin building in it, yet the alleged economic value of the settlement makes the diplomatic treaty at -33. The settlement makes 95 gold. So I don't know if it's working.
Doomed World Mar 1, 2024 @ 9:34am
Seems to have no effect
R41N Jul 2, 2023 @ 12:36pm
I can clean up border gore... thank Sigmar!!!
Userpereuser Apr 25, 2023 @ 12:47am
Vanilla trade is pretty impossible. Penalty is so high that AI don't want to trade even shittiest settlements in the world. Will check this mod out.
Freiya  [author] Feb 19, 2023 @ 3:42pm
@Strider009, That's correct, the "Reduced Trade Settlement Penalty" only affects the base game trading system. In the "Trade Any settlement" mod, I don't care if it's the most recently acquired region. ^^
Strider009 Feb 19, 2023 @ 2:47pm
I'm guessing if we use your new mod 'Trade Any Settlement' than we don't need this mod anymore, is that correct?
Freiya  [author] Feb 10, 2023 @ 2:35pm
For those who wanted a way to trade settlements with less restrictions, I just released this mod :

Freiya  [author] Feb 7, 2023 @ 12:08pm
Yeah it's a bit weird, I am currently trying to create a mod allowing to trade any settlement (except with factions you are at war with). If I manage to do that, it will probably have less complex rules than the base game and make it much easier to trade settlements.
Commodus Feb 6, 2023 @ 11:30am
Testing this out with sfo atm:)

The main red number for me seems to be, economic value, AI wont even trade me one crappy minor settlement when I own everything else in a province:(

even refusing 100k lol

Really I think it should be, if you own the capital settlement of a province they should sell to you.

Stupid system:P
Freiya  [author] Feb 4, 2023 @ 3:07am
@Strider009, I don't know, the whole system doesn't make sense and even seems buggy. I had the economic value of some settlements go down when upgrading some buildings from level 1 to 2.
Strider009 Feb 3, 2023 @ 3:36pm
Thank you for the insight. I wasn't aware of the buildings needed in the settlement, I usually demolished them. If I can figure out what buildings make it worth more that might really help. Does it matter what tier the buildings are?

I'll check out that mod too, use it for the NUCLEAR option.
Freiya  [author] Feb 3, 2023 @ 3:38am
@Strider009, that's just how the system works. It's extremely difficult to get the AI to trade some of their settlements. The buildings in the settlement matter and are what increase its economic value, so try to give them a high level settlement with a lot of buildings in exchange of the one you want. Some buildings increase the economic value more than others but there is no way to know by how much, for example the military camp (basic recruitment building) of High Elves add a lot to the economic value compared to other tier 1 buildings. Cities with a port are also highly valued by the AI.

Trying to get a settlement that is part of a province completely owned by an AI adds the malus -50 to the relative faction strength. I don't know how but you could try make the AI lose at least a settlement in the province somehow to remove the -50 malus...

Otherwise, just use this kind of "cheat" mod :

I still can't seem to get the AI to trade settlements. I don't know what the issue is, it might not even be this mod. All I know is the trade is always super demanding and even if I put 100k gold into it, the AI still won't trade. Any suggestions?
Mud Nov 13, 2022 @ 9:25am
@unknown_enemy completely agree what a ridiculous thing to hardcode.
Baya Nov 13, 2022 @ 8:28am
Yeah, super annoying when you're Ally captures a recently razed settlement of yours and won't give it back. Cheers for this
Freiya  [author] Oct 22, 2022 @ 4:46am
@Elysion @Unknown_Enemy, I would like that too but it's beyond my skill. There is no (obvious) way in the data to affect the list of settlements in the trade system.
Unknown_Enemy Oct 22, 2022 @ 1:03am
I second the feature to trade without restriction. I play for lore, I need to buy and give provinces to my stupid allies. Still, thanks for your mod, it's an excellent step in the right direction.
Azrael Oct 13, 2022 @ 3:56am
Would love a mod that allows us to trade settlements that are not adjacent to the faction. I'm doing a peacekeeping run where I wipe out only the Skaven and Chaos vermin but mediate between mortal races where I give settlements to factions that belong to it so every other race has a place in this world.
UnLapinDeGaren Sep 14, 2022 @ 9:14am
ok i understand thks
ngythe1king Sep 13, 2022 @ 7:00pm
@Freiya ohh ok, i did not know that. Thanks for letting me know, i did not see the difference bc i kept on getting such a huge negative baseline regardless of what alliance i have
Freiya  [author] Sep 13, 2022 @ 3:49pm
@UnLapinDeGaren Seems like the previous mod was removed, here is the kind of mod (Easy Diplomacy Updated) I was linking if you want to "force" a trade.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2857142127
Freiya  [author] Sep 13, 2022 @ 3:33pm
@ngythe1king, no it still works as expected. "Baseline evaluation" is something else entirely and was never affected by this mod. The "recently acquired penalty" is only affecting the "Relative faction strength", if you activate/deactivate the mod and try to trade the last captured settlement you will see this value change.

However, CA massively reduced the penalty in one of the recent patches changing it from 50 to 10. My mod simply reduces the penalty to 1.
UnLapinDeGaren Sep 13, 2022 @ 10:06am
@warmaster gorehowl I play the same way as you and it's really hard, but it's true that this mod lacks a trade without restriction of proximity and @ Freiya your link are broken
ngythe1king Sep 13, 2022 @ 4:23am
As of 9/13/22 this mod no longer works. Playing Kugath's campaign and tried to buy off a settlement from Greasus to complete province in the Dark Lands and it always show diplomacy baseline negative 20+ despite Greasus just capturing settlement and I got a non-aggression pack and military access with him. I also noticed this in my earlier Kairos campaign as well
Freiya  [author] Jun 27, 2022 @ 2:46pm
You could try this mod to "force" the trade :

WarMaster GoreHowl Jun 27, 2022 @ 2:06pm
is there anyway we could get a version of this mod that basically lets you trade regions as easily as the mod for warhammer 2? Im THOUSANDS of hours into my warhammer total war lifetime... I play for lore thematic playthroughs at this point not win conditions ( which gets me victory each time anyway) I just want to be able to control certain factions and keep my allies alive with their home turf in the rightful owner.... and not being able to purchase legit RUINS for 200k+ is just dumb just so i can try and give it to another faction after.
Commiss4r Apr 10, 2022 @ 11:46am
yea that threw me off, thanks for clarifying the name and for your work :)
Freiya  [author] Apr 9, 2022 @ 11:37pm
Not at all, it doesn't matter how many settlements they have. I guess the word "last" in my description was misleading, it affects the most recently acquired settlement.
Commiss4r Apr 9, 2022 @ 4:44pm
so this only works if the target faction has one settlement left?
Lycia Pintella Apr 7, 2022 @ 9:54am
I've been playing as Katarin, trading for the Orthodoxy's settlements, building them up nice and walling them up, and selling them back so they hold vs chaos better =P
Pyrodysseus Apr 6, 2022 @ 3:06pm
I appreciate ya just reducing it
