I also use pulsar and binoculars worked when I removed performance optimization plugin
aantono Nov 4 @ 8:09am
I tried the right click and the function basically mimics the old behavior. The magnification happens, but no mouse wheel or keys work. After I click out of it by selecting a different tool from the bar, my view is all messed up with high zoom without a way to reset it back to normal - end up having to reload the game. 😔

Use right click to enable the binoculars. Should work in survival without ammo too
aantono Nov 3 @ 5:16pm
Scroll wheel and Q n E keys don’t do anything
aantono Nov 3 @ 5:15pm
When I choose binoculars in the selector, they appear, but when I click the left mouse button, it shows error msg saying “Weapon out of ammo”

I have the same problem as Tuuvis - also using Apex with Pulsar

Thanks for the update! What category should the binoculars appear in? I don’t see it in the G menu unless I search for it:

Update:
- Fixed block category
@Tuuvis Van Kraun
i didnt have probs on my end so far so it is possible that the plugins you use or how you make them functional interfere.
Tuuvis Van Kraun Oct 3 @ 10:56pm
@Abisius
Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. I'm able to use them but not zoom. They only have the typical character weapon zoom or something little like that, but Q/E or mousewheel isn't doing anything. I do have scope framework in the mod-list for this save. It got borked after the Apex update, when I had to switch from plugin loader to Pulsar.

Thanks for the tips, I will dig into it. :)
standard first aid list (file paths may vary for servers or non windows users or servers) (s for needs to be done on server/host and client side):
- make a testworld just with the affected mod and one of the other mods as a mod conflict test, don't forget the mod requirements.
- (s) make a file integrety check for space engineers itself.
- (s) delete all modrelated data of the affected mods in the main and world specific storage folder and let it regenerate in case this got corruptet (findable under %appdata%\spaceengineers and %appdata%\spaceengineers\saves\yoursteamid64\yourworldname).
- (s) delete all modrelated data of the affected mods in the workshop folder and redownload it to neutralize eventually data corruption by modupdate (files are findable inside the workshop folder of the steam library folder in which you have installed space engineers).
@Tuuvis Van Kraun
did you add it to your worlds modlist after subscribing to it? did you subscribe to its requirements and add them to your worlds modlist? did you build the binoculars inside the assembler? did you add them to you chars toolbar?

besides that the "standard first aid list" should be possible to sort out file corruption and modconflict as possible causes.

Is this still working? It's not working for me. Am I missing something?
semtex Jul 30 @ 3:44am
I like this plugin. The binoculars have become my essential equipment.
0-Fenix-0 Jul 12 @ 8:29pm
Subscribed because I lost the game.
@[p42] The Fodder
he only prob i had so far with it was in coop where whenever the host uses the binos everyone else also gets hud overlay from the binos.
Dalten May 31 @ 7:34am
yes it works on vanilla dedicated server wonderfully.

This mod is amazing, but it's more like a portable backyard telescope than binoculars. it is VERY strong with the highest ranges. Would you please consider a configuration option for server admins to modulate maximum zoom depth.
PimpMyDog May 30 @ 7:17am
@[p42] The Fodder

No. I run it on a dedicated server with 0 problems.
[p42] The Fodder May 25 @ 2:34am
Are there any issues with running this on servers?

This awesome mod is part of our collection "Sirius - An arcade vision of a survival game" https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3154892496

Thank you to offer this to the community ❤️
@PimpMyDog
stuff claiming """performance improvements""" is usually messing with other mods functions due to them messing with stuff many mods rely on to function.
PimpMyDog Mar 20 @ 7:05am
Oops never mind it was actually the Performance Improvement plugin as previous comments also said. Shame, I really benefited from this plugin but at least I can still play without it. I chose Binoculars mod over that :)
PimpMyDog Mar 20 @ 7:01am
Same here. Subgrid projection plugin and Binoculars mod breaks this mod. Both are practically essential things for me so any way to fix this?
Chipstix213  [author] Feb 19 @ 1:03am
Will not function on consoles
moonrocks108 Feb 18 @ 8:37pm
mod io?
CHEWBACCA Jan 5 @ 6:37pm
Was working fine until i used plugin manager to install subgrid blueprint plugin then it breaks
sjaak31367 Dec 30, 2024 @ 3:35am
@Abisius
Ah, so it's a case of bug caused by game limitations, and therefore in the category of can't fix. But it is known about. Okay, thank you :)
Abisius Xarvenius Carbensius Dec 28, 2024 @ 4:23am
@sjaak31367
shared singleplayer world and host?

a shared singleplayer world is still singleplayer and just got shared to others via a worldupload to the steamworkshop or throwing over the files via other ways so that thex can play it and there is only one in the world.

a host is either the server in case a keen based or torch based server is in use or the player that did open the world in coop mode.

the overlay appearing for clients in coop when the host uses the binos and every host action been done with the binos beeing transfered to the clients is an age old thing happenign since this mod startet its existence and as far as i remember it it was ages ago explained as beeing due to se limitations.
sjaak31367 Dec 27, 2024 @ 7:03am
Bug report: When in a shared singleplayer world, when the host uses the binoculars to zoom in, it -for 1 frame- also zooms in for other people, which closes GUIs, and looks glitchy.
Meta Bluejay Dec 23, 2024 @ 9:53am
it shows info of what I'm holding while using the binoculars, but it's really useful for long distances
Chipstix213  [author] Dec 2, 2024 @ 9:53am
Categories changed it might only be found by searching the g menu
iz_BaNaNa Dec 2, 2024 @ 9:01am
I think its outdated. Have crafted the binoculars and they do show up in my inventory.
But i cant equip or use them
DesertDragon79 Nov 4, 2024 @ 11:21pm
I've lost the game...
PanicOregon281 Oct 20, 2024 @ 7:48pm
How come I can't look around when using the binoculars? limitation?
RaSvet Oct 8, 2024 @ 2:57pm
I confirm that the binoculars conflict with the "Performance Improvement". If the "Performance Improvement" is disabled, then the binoculars work fine.

Chipstix213  [author] May 12, 2024 @ 9:39am
Not surprising to be honest. It's not easy to do something more that a developer has already done
FantazeR May 12, 2024 @ 9:01am
@Chipstix213
developer said that this plugin actually ruins performance a bit when using with huge modpacks
Chipstix213  [author] May 5, 2024 @ 12:06pm
At this rate I'm wondering what mods are compatible with that plugin
Valen May 5, 2024 @ 8:05am
Can confirm flummifp remark. "Performance Improvement" plugin is not compatible with this.
flummifp Apr 30, 2024 @ 9:06am
Great mod!

In case this mod locks you into zoom and doesn't show a vignette when using the binoculars, the reason might be the "performance improvements" plugin.
Grand Admiral Brador Apr 18, 2024 @ 11:34am
@Abisius I get this too, but for me when I look at something that my buddy is also looking at (w/out binocs) then he gets kicked. At least I think that's what happens.
Chipstix213  [author] Apr 6, 2024 @ 11:41pm
In th main Assembler
Capt. Wind Apr 6, 2024 @ 2:54pm
Hello! How create binocular ?
Thanks )
Abisius Xarvenius Carbensius Mar 20, 2024 @ 11:24am
@Klime @Chipstix
i had just a very interresting find while playing in coop and beeig the host:
using the binos also uses the binos also for everyone else in the session, so i use the bios and everyone has the effect of it.
Lucifer Feb 8, 2024 @ 3:49pm
Did I just lose...
Chipstix213  [author] Jan 27, 2024 @ 11:53pm
Thanks for the info.
Commander Star Jan 27, 2024 @ 9:42pm
@VileNet If you look at that mod's file size, it is significantly smaller than this one, and in the description the maker of that addon said that it adds the Binoculars to the Survival Kit and Assembler Tier 1's crafting; which gives it compatibility with Industrial Overhaul, as well as requiring THIS mod to be installed too, as that one doesn't contain the assets or actual code for the Binoculars mod. That mod is an addon for this one, not standalone, and thus isn't a reposting of the mod.
Deapri Jan 21, 2024 @ 4:27am
It appears in the assembler crafting under tools it's there.
