One other thing that came to mind regarding the Socialist/Communist tree, actually: the vanilla focuses that are now under the 'Communist' side of the tree could really be shared by both sides of the tree, as there's nothing about them that is explicitly 'Communist' (or rather, Marxist-Leninist, and more specifically Browderist). If the ideological divide you have between Thomas's SPA and Browder's CPUSA is an important factor, then giving the latter more flavor unique to them should be considered.

On a similar note, the Fascist tree could have some branches focusing on what the core movement is: Neo-Confederates, American Nazis, Business Plotters 2.0, or what? Also, minor nitpick: the Voter Registration Act focus in the Fascist branch is kinda pointless, as you currently have it that when the Fascists take over, the rule-set changes to 'No Public Elections are Held'.

@WhiteDragon25 Funny enough during a recent rework of the tree, I did think about moving the Desegregation focuses to around the Chiefs of Staff area. I'm not opposed to the idea of moving it since if the Women's Armed Services Integration Act is there, why not desegregation. I might do so in a future update.

You have an interesting idea on making some things open to all ideologies. It's something I'll think about and may do down the road (not sure when).

This looks good, but one thing I noticed: you have the "Desegregate the Armed Forces" and "Full Desegregation" Focuses be entirely exclusive to the Socialist/Communist branch; they should really be shared with the Democratic branches as well, since Truman desegregated the military in 1948, and full desegregation isn't entirely out of the realm of possibility following on from that.

Additionally, there's stuff like the US-Soviet Alliance/Shatter the Empires and the War Powers Act sub-branches that could also be shared with the Democratic branches, as those could be plausible alt-history paths that don't necessarily require a full switch away from Democratic to Communism or Fascism for them to happen (at least, that was the original intention PDX had in mind in their tree's design).

That aside, this looks all good. Keep up the work!

As a heads up, I will likely be out of town when the next patch hits, but there shouldn't be any compatibility issues. You should be able to use the current version without issue. I'll double check and update likely Monday.

Next major update will focus on the alt-history paths, but there may be a few smaller updates before then.

One thing, you may wish to add more leaders to the Fascist path.

Pelley was a lunatic with an insignificant movement.
Charles Lindbergh is a celebrity sure, but also very, very young.

I would recommend adding General Patton. He was popular, the image of a cowboy. High ranking officer. Awards from WW1. He put down the Bonus Army, but respected their plight and did not agree with how MacArthur handled it.
He is also basically part of the American "Aristocracy", so it makes a great deal of sense.

And if you want a little touch from Kaiserreich, making George Van Horn Moseley does make a touch of sense too.


Also, Fascist US should probably still retain the original name. Or give us a choice to keep it. But the most likely thing is for the name of the country to remain the same.

@BloodandDeath52 Just double checked and it works. You have a mod conflict. Anything that changes advisors or MIOs doesn't work with the mod.

Its really odd because it does add 2 levels, its just theres no way to actually use them.

The main battle tank focus doens't actually let you use the detroit aresnal. A fix would be much appreciated.

@Templar You had me curious so I booted up to check since I haven't played RT56 in a long time, but our focus trees are completely different. Any similarities are because we both started from vanilla as a base point, but there are key differences all over the place. I guess I'll take it as a compliment you thought mine was included in RT56?

Hey I'm back, the only problem I've found is with a submod of UTTNH, extended timeline, which changes the focus trees and makes the new development companies unavailable.

Aside for that it works just fine

I've tried it and it's working fine, although i can't confirm if it'll keep working after 30 years of game

@JavierSánchez I haven't used that mod much, so can't say for certain. Looks like they modify the MIOs too, so likely not fully compatible, but should be mostly fine.

I know there's issues with the 1960 tech tree mod that I plan on eventually making a compatibility patch for since they change certain USA files for some reason.

Would your mod be compatible with Ultimate Tech Tree : New Horizon?

For some reason going down the fascist path, after taking America First focus I couldn't recruit the fascist demagogue. It said that I didn't do the focus, even though I did. What could cause this?

@FatherSarge That's definitely a miss on my end from when the TAA came out. I'll fix it in a patch.

Vanilla adds +1 Branch Specialism (for a total of 2 as you start with 1) in the "Airborne Divisions" focus.

Unfortunately the mod does not add any Branch Specialisms as far as I can tell, the line "add_potential_special_forces_tree = yes" would need to be added to the completion rewards of one of your focuses.

@FatherSarge I'd have to think about it. I think I left it at one or two (can't remember what USA gets in vanilla/the mod currently) to follow Paradox's idea of balancing, but I could potentially add it to or create a focus.

Any chance I can ask for an additional special operations branch to be given through one of the special operations focuses so the US can have 2 (even 3 muhahaha) spec ops trees? I think in vanilla the US can get 2

I'm thinking but I don't know which mod is, I don't have any that changes the US focus tree or national spirits, the only one I think that changes something is the reworked air designer, later, I'll deactivate some mods and see which one is causing the error
