Cepheus 3.4 Notice: You should keep your expectations for a speedy update to the new version modest tbh... Just from reading the patch notes, the changes to vassals are extensive and my require a lot of adaptation. To say nothing of scripted localization going away... all my random name generators!
LittleRaskol  [author] May 4, 2022 @ 6:59am
I can't say for 100% sure but there should be no conflict. Whether all the elements will "work together" logically is what's uncertain.

Does the mod work with mods like Machine and robot expansion/forgotten queens without compatibility patch?
gavinfoxx Apr 22, 2022 @ 9:03am
You CAN do benevolant monarchies though. Just do xenophile pacifist authoritarian (imperial) and take quality of life for your population civics.
kerrigan1603 Apr 22, 2022 @ 8:45am
@LittleRaskol The reason I’m asking, is the old government overhaul mod by Chastity the Celibate that was abandoned allowed you to play as democratic authority with authoritarian ethos (think Singapore or current Hungary or Poland) and dictatorial or imperial authorities with egalitarian ethos (think Equestria under the rule of Princess Celestia from MLP) which I thought was pretty cool and open up an whole new range of role-playing possibilites.
LittleRaskol  [author] Apr 22, 2022 @ 3:43am
As for the Shared Burdens/Worker's Councils thing... I don't know? Or remember? I think the idea was that Shared Burdens represents a much more thorough and successful attempt at building a society around communal values than either Worker's Councils or Institutionalized Collectivism (the mod's two socialist-flavored civics). In essence, both WC and IC represent "approaches" to a society becoming communist. SB is successful communism. It obsoletes and "completes" the other two.

So in that case, the real issue is: why is SB *not* incompatible with IC? Maybe it should be, but either way it should be consistent. So I'll think it over.

I don't intend to radically change the way ethics work, but I do have a "constitutional monarchy" civic in the works (it has been in the works for a very long time...)
gavinfoxx Apr 21, 2022 @ 5:10pm
1603: I mostly think the difference is in what the things are named, rather than what they represent in game 'lore'. Imperial or Dictatorial authority, for example, means that the Emperor or Dictator or Tyrant or whatever *actually rules with an iron fist*. A Constitutional Monarchy where the representative senate rules and the 'king' is a figurehead isn't a monarchy at ALL; you could name such a civilization a 'Kingdom' if you wish, however.
kerrigan1603 Apr 21, 2022 @ 3:40pm
@LittleRaskol Would it be possible to allow it so you still can pick imperial or dictatorial authority when choosing Egalitarian ethos and explain it away by the government be automatically Constitutional Monarchy or Benevolent Dictatorship with Enlightened Liberalism requiring non-fanatic Egalitarian ethos, also why should Shared Burdens and Worker Councils conflict with each other, it seem odd that two civics that are clearly very egalitarian in nature would conflict with go against each other if anything, they seem to naturally complement each other… at least Role-Playing wise. Also make it so you can still choose Oligarchic or Corporate authority if you have Fanatic Egalitarian. (for example Cooperative Enterprise or Syndicalist Conference)
LittleRaskol  [author] Apr 14, 2022 @ 12:02pm
You need to have the civic at the time that you create or obtain a vassal in order for the event that allows specialization to fire.

Side note but from reading the dev diaries, this may be a thing of the past once Overlord comes out! Because they're doing the vassal specialization thing in a much more robust way that I am still not completely sure how I will adapt the civic for... We'll see.
Zares Apr 14, 2022 @ 10:55am
How does Imperial Economy civic work? Do I need to take it before vassalization?
Bishop Heket of the Old Faith Apr 13, 2022 @ 12:28am
I've been having a lot of fun with this mod, so thanks for creating it!

Also another suggestion to Lifelong Learning. Perhaps make it 'not militarist' rather than specifically Pacifist? And maybe combine Public Works with tweaks to Corvee System? The whole idea of the Corvee is for public works...
gavinfoxx Apr 6, 2022 @ 9:23am
Here's a suggestion. An update to lifelong learning that gives access to a generic research focused trade policy. Maybe a better version for those with merchant guilds or megacorps? Maybe some hacker or 'information should be free!' focus?

It looks to be pretty popular, but im kinda new to modding.

The original seems to be out of development right now.

Is "Bug Branch" like the "main" version of that family of mods in use for this version of Stellaris? I don't want to be tied down maintaining too many patches so if that's the one most people are using I'd probably just adapt the current E&CO patch for it.
Cassie Apr 5, 2022 @ 11:05am
i just came here looking for the same thing as impressively bad haha. No pressure but looks like there is interest! :tgrin:
victim of the stairs Apr 4, 2022 @ 5:50pm
hey, i hope this wouldn't be too much trouble for you, but could you make a compatibility patch for the bug branch of ethics and civics? i'd really appreciate it!
LittleRaskol  [author] Apr 3, 2022 @ 4:49pm
That troll was too lazy and low grade to deserve this much attention, y'all
Erebus Hunter Apr 3, 2022 @ 12:52pm
the thing that amazes me the most is how many people are insulted by a comment on a Steam page of a Stellaris mod. Especially a comment that isn't even directed at...anything at all?

Like, maybe just...idk...ignore it and move on?
oneoneoneoneone Apr 2, 2022 @ 9:54am
You people are disgusting, that's a slur? Soft sensitive soyboys unbelievable. We all know you've got vile shit to say about people you don't like and that's always fine. You can dish it out but you can't take it. You just need to shut up.
goober123goob Apr 1, 2022 @ 5:18pm
maybe its just me but most of these origins needed dlc. disappointed :(
gavinfoxx Mar 31, 2022 @ 6:19am
We can report the authoritarian xenophobe, just click the flag thing, maybe don't reference the slurs in your own posts, eh spaceracer?
Spaceracer Mar 31, 2022 @ 4:49am
dude unironically used the word ''soyboy''
gavinfoxx Mar 30, 2022 @ 8:30am
Do you think you could make a compatibility patch for Empires Expanded and Empires Expanded Vanilla Overhaul, for when people are NOT using Ethics and Civics Expanded? There's some overlap and these two mods aren't aware of each other.
dEATHRABBIT Mar 30, 2022 @ 7:02am
Is this mod compatible with the Gigastructures mod?
gavinfoxx Mar 29, 2022 @ 11:27am
Here's a suggested origin: 'Orphan Uplifts'. You start in a habitat and domed colony (or just a small colony of a marginal planet type or whatever), with a Tomb World with lots of specific planetary features and such on it. You actually have two species, one with proles and uplifted, the other with natural intellectuals and uplifted (of course paying for them in trait points and such) and if you colonize and excavate the blockers on the homeworld, you can get research towards the various gene modding technologies.

"if a soyboy libshit wrote biased civics" the mod
🌙𝓛𝓾𝓷𝓮🌙 Mar 27, 2022 @ 2:33pm
Nah I understand it's all good, and yeah, here it is. It's a solid mod but it has a hard time with other mods from what I have been noticing.

(minus the spaces of course)
LittleRaskol  [author] Mar 27, 2022 @ 7:22am
It's something I'd have to really dig into. Not sure how long it will take. Could you link to the Redux mod you're using? I have a bit of a hard time keeping track of all the forks of the ethics and civics overhaul are out there tbh!
🌙𝓛𝓾𝓷𝓮🌙 Mar 26, 2022 @ 9:10pm
Pretty much same issue, I got the patch first and foremost and seemingly no real change as the same defaulting of governments with certain ethics activated.
LittleRaskol  [author] Mar 26, 2022 @ 6:11pm
How does it work with the patch?
🌙𝓛𝓾𝓷𝓮🌙 Mar 26, 2022 @ 4:41pm
Is there a possible way to make this compatible with Ethics and Civics Alternative - Redux? The original Ethics and Civics (used to, hasnt been updated for 3.3) work fine with this mod however with the Redux, some of the ethic choices totally overrides civic-government generation. For example, like half of the governments features egalitarian (in the mod, "libertarian") are no longer unlockable if you choose the competitive ethic. The government just defaults to "Liberal Democracy."
doctornull Mar 26, 2022 @ 6:42am
Would you consider making a special government name for Technocracy + Shared Burdens? (And making those two civics compatible, of course.)
The Sniff Mar 25, 2022 @ 4:22pm
I'm looking for a new mod since i'm coming back to the game after a year. I will play yours since you seem to have put a lot of hard work into it:steamthumbsup:
LittleRaskol  [author] Mar 25, 2022 @ 1:00pm
Pretty big content update: A new origin and a new civic, with complex features. I have been working on this content for literally years and it feels good to get it out there. Check change notes for details.

Interestingly, the next big Stellaris update is set to deepen the vassal game a lot. Which has been a focus of a lot of the new content in GVP, including this update. So I will have new toys to look forward too, but also re-updating old content for the new system... Welp!
Pingu's Revenge Mar 23, 2022 @ 10:47am
I don't speak English very well either. Russian certainly not. Still I have make translations with translation programs like Google & Deepl for my mods ^^ It's just more work:blacklegion::medkit:
Possibly this is helpful:Gifting::reinforce:

The mod is still
great
, even if I don't currently use it.
LittleRaskol  [author] Mar 22, 2022 @ 2:46pm
I am not good enough at any other language than English to translate, es tut mir leid! (Probably got that way wrong.)

Also big balance update is up, based largely on some cool analysis in the "Balance, Bug, and Issue Reports" thread. Check the Change Notes for details.
gavinfoxx Mar 21, 2022 @ 11:30am
Awesome, how will the new version of the pop compare to the unemployed pop? You plan on making it strictly better? How, exactly?
the german emperor Mar 21, 2022 @ 8:00am
can u make an german translation
LittleRaskol  [author] Mar 20, 2022 @ 6:24pm
Yeah, I can do triggered production bonuses with has_living_standard. Good catch tbh.
LittleRaskol  [author] Mar 20, 2022 @ 6:21pm
Changing the job to account for Utopian Abundance shouldn't be too hard. (Unless there's literally no triggers to check for living standards or species rights...) So long as the change makes the job superior to being unemployed with that policy, it should be sufficient.
gavinfoxx Mar 20, 2022 @ 1:04pm
Hi, I'd like to offer a suggestion regarding 'lifelong learning' and the 'promote citizen scholarship' edict As best as I can figure, the research and other benefits added to it are inferior to those added to unemployed pops by Utopian Abundance. Might it be possible to change the promote citizen scholarship modifier to specifically IMPROVE the benefits of those applied to Utopian Abundance, and to apply the 'employed' pops to be equal to the new benefit, provided they have a Utopian Abundance lifestyle?
Crazy Old Texan Mar 19, 2022 @ 5:10pm
Appreciate the work and time you put into this mod. Best of it's kind in the workshop.
Grand Admiral Thrawn Mar 19, 2022 @ 6:44am
dose this work with the expanded ethics and civiqs mod?
The Emperor's Chosen Mar 18, 2022 @ 8:24pm
Well, not to sound like a smart ass here, but I think it's a safe bet the Devs are never gonna fix Ground combat, so I think a mod that overhauls that extensively is pretty future proof lmao.
