yeah i just did a few playthroughs to see what kind of wacky stuff i got up to and noticed those (did Finland, Czechoslovakia, and China)

also also also: the chinese materiel designers aren't x10ed either (the like, infantry equipment research speed and that buffs)

also also: taking the first sudenten line focus tree bypasses the rest since the bypass triggers aren't x10ed meaning you cant get the level 70 forts

Also: you can't spend XP to improve designs when you don't have the air/tank designer because it doesn't register that you change it if there's not an xp to actually spend

Command power price for military high command, etc. is also multiplied. Don't know if it's intended, but considering that maximum command power is not multiplied, you can't get many military buffs.

I'd say there's no surefire way of automating the process, but you could somehow compare the amount of times that modifier is used as a negative vs the times it's used as a positive and then judge whether you should go one way or another.

I tried following the same architecture for Stellaris as well but the biggest problem I ran into was that the Stellaris code was more optimised than HOI4, so the file structure was very different.

I could probably eventually figure out something, but for now I'm satisfied by the HOI4 x10 haha

I ran into the same problem with modifiers! I've been working on a Python script that will allow users to create multiplier mods for any of Paradox's games. However, I've encountered the same issue with determining whether a modifier has a beneficial or detrimental effect when it's positive or negative. If I can solve this problem, I will be able to share the script, enabling anyone to create mods like this one, with any multiplication, for any game, and for any mod.

Most likely, I will need to decompile the game and look for a list indicating when the modifier color in the description is blue and at what value.

Yes, actually! I used generative AI to cook up a couple of scripts that can find words associated with the modifiers in HOI4, then multiply the numbers following them by 10 based on a positive/negative criteria that I manually sorted through.

It's still a fair amount of work even with ChatGPT prompting, especially the manual sorting for whether a modifier should be multiplied by 10 when its original number is negative or positive, so I can understand why mod authors have a hard time updating their x10 mods.

another thing- the Denmark focuses relating to the Danish Industrial Capabilites cause you to brick your economy by requiring you to have +200 and +300% factories on consumer goods, barring you from constructing buildings (Institute Corporatism and Total Krig)

Glad to see a return to the outright demented gameplay in x10 once again. Spain's aircraft and naval design companies (as well as a german naval company, i think?) seem to have missed the x10 filter, but I don't have the latest DLCs so I couldn't tell you if it's that. Can't wait to get my friends into the modern age of hoi4 instead of being a year or so behind in updates
