I'll work on updating, have had time to play 42 yet.
But if it's actually a feature in the game now, I don't think it makes sense to update 😆

Hopefully this mod will be updated for Build 42, it is one of my favorite mods. Please, when possible, I would love you to update it :)

Working awesome with KI5's vehicles, and Vanilla Vehicles removed.
Kinda odd when the 1941 Jeep does the polite "chime" to let me know my lights are still on but, hey, I like it. :)

To this day, this is one of the most immersive mods ive ever used. Thank you!

Well the fact that it is heard also outside around the car by other people is realistic x) When the chime is beeping you can hear it even when the doors are closed and you're standing outside next to it ^^

@Daszh could I repack this for my dedicated server?

I don't know why, but a sense of calm and peace washes over me whenever I hear that chime.

Finally, my faction members don't let the car batteries are drained anymore.

@BarryBlack There is a check which makes the sound only play if there is a player in the vehicle, it doesn't play at all in an empty vehicle. But while a player is in the vehicle and it is playing it is also audible from outside and also for NPCs.

So you mention that there's a limitation currently to the sound outside the vehicle. I see the logs stating that it's trying to play sound, but as a player i can't hear it unless i'm inside the vehicle. Am i missing a mod to make this work as intended or is this the limitation you're talking about. Also while i'm posting, do npcs get alerted by this sound?

Regarding the error @Novashrugs reports below; seem like the Author fixed this issue but did not mention it in the comments. So people can add this mod without worries!

US Domestic Market (USDM) cars do not have speed chimes. The only time that you might see a speed chime in the US is if the car was imported from another market.

do american cars even have a speed chime?

This goes bananas with spamming the error log if you get into an accident riding a bicycle and thrown off the vehicle -- the bike has no headlight.
