An NPC is an NPC. They all use the nexbot system made by Valve. I would have expected a script-kiddie that got VACbanned for using cheats to at least know the basics of the source engine.

Yeah, the guy that made an RE1 campaign also made his own version of RE2's and to be honest both of them are complete trash lol. From the get go, you have to use noclip and fly for like 2 minutes to reach the starting point in both of that dude's campaign.

Meanwhile this addon right here is just a masterpiece.

I do agree that the manhack crow model replacement should be optional as killing it glitches the model in the air and also overrides the default manhacks in general... so they appear on other maps which is just odd.

Also enemy Resident Evil crow snpcs can be supplemented by the user instead for the enemy crows and they are more immersive and even have the OG sounds.

Would love to see a better Resident Evil 1 campaign or even just sandbox maps, the current Spencer mansion map is inadequate due to invisible walls and bugs, lack of interactivity and missing music etc.

I can't believe how good this map is. Is genuinely really fun, filled with a lot of detail in gameplay. And surprisingly very accurate to the PS1 version.

I kinda wished someone could make a version of this map using the Resident Evil: Cold Blood SNPCs to make this perfect. Because right now you have zombie headcraps that die in 3 shots to the head, and Antlions replacing Lickers even though they die in less than a second with the pistol.

The crow replacing the manhack is intentional, it mimics the original game since those enemies in that room were birds.

If this bothers you this much, consider extracting the addon with a tool like GMad and removing the custom NPC models, then playing it that way.

could i take this map and modify with my custom NPCS and SWEPS becasue i love this map so much and i know how to do Glua and i thought it would be nice if i could take the map files to make it have custom sweps like adding a flamethrower for the lab and plus adding ivy plants and other zombie variants

You could make it better by adding the [DrGBase] G-Birkin so you can actually fight him. But that's just my opinion. Regardless this is still one of if not the best map i have ever played and extreamly faithful to the original. I also like that you kept the trap in the cabin/generator room. Also the dark room locker having the initials A .W and the key being in weskers desk was really clever. 11 out of 10

10/10 map, everything is well designed. But why does this map replace combine's manhack with a crow? It took me a long time to find out that the problem came from this map, when I unload this map the manhack become normal, may I ask if you can fix it?

So I made two youtube Gmod Realism gameplay videos out of this campaign so far playing through it. Just beat the R.P.D in a beautiful 1 hour long video. My longest one yet.

I think it'd be more interesting if you can remake the whole re7 XD. this bloody map/mod is amazing. I've played it using the ps1 camera mod, a bit clunky but fun. I just need a proper aimbot mod so its easier to aim.

I went ahead and "ported" it over to HL2VR. (Not much of a process admittedly, it was simply putting the assets into their own VPK and uploading the VPKs and BSPs to the workshop.)

I made it very clear that it's your work and linked back to this - also, if you would like, I can list you as a collaborator so they appear as part of your workshop submissions. (I think I'd have to add you as a friend for that though, when I visit the collaborator menu it just shows my friend list.)

Thank you for the permission. I did another run through the four maps in VR again and it's a lot of fun.

Workshop support for HL2 VR is now available, and the developers state only to upload content that the user has the rights to. These maps work very well in VR (mostly, with some minor hiccups) and I think it would be a great addition to the HL2VR workshop. Any interest in that?

A breathtaking recreation of RE2 in Source. It's hard to believe the amount of work and passion that went into this mod to meticulously recreate a cult classic into a more modern engine.

While the mod itself is extremely easy due to the updated controls not translating well with the faithful recreation (which can be fixed by introducing "harder" map variations with more faster enemies such as a lot more fast zombies and headcrabs and/or less ammo) , playing it for the nostalgia factor alone and getting immersed in your playthrough is still very enjoyable

Regardless, it's a real treat for the old school players!
