How?
Guess the answer is 'no' :\
I noticed a version for the Dragonfall DC standalone and no update notes or anything for a while... :(
Nearly no typos, very good story (although I am German I really feel Californian pride now *g*), good dialogues, a long story and very nice party interaction.
10 out of 10, I'd say!
Any plans for a fourth episode? I really have enjoyed all three. Easily the best written and most polished UGC out there.
@heebiejeebietroubling - Thanks for your interest! I'm pretty sure I'll eventually move the whole series into the DC version, but it will probably take me a while. They've made significant changes to how combat works, and tuning the difficulty has always been the most time-consuming part of these mods. I'll post an announcement here once it's available, but it likely won't be very soon.
@Dargoth - Good idea; I'll see if there's an elegant way to handle deckers who run into this problem.
Everyone else - Aww, thanks! I really appreciate the kind words, it makes me glad that folks had fun playing this.
Combat is far more polished here, and the characters we're able to select for runs were well designed useful. Loved the RPG style banter through runs also. Maps and visuals were well done, but not overwhelming or system crippling. Good design and balance in all things, making this an excellent polished experience with a kick-ass tale behind it. Well done.
My only suggestion would be to allow hired runners to make checks for you in the field, such as the Junkyard.
Completed 7/26/2014 without any issues. I definitely recommend it.
The banter amongst themselves and to the PC is good and funny, make them feel lively than just hired merc. <3 Hailey n Norton
The first part was basically a very short nothing.
The second was acceptable, but non-exceptional
The third part was really really good - except for the way the engine handles big battles and the ending in general.
I like your idea about re-releasing the earlier content with Dragonfall dependencies so players can access the new player portraits, totems, etc. I'll consider this in the future!
@Ceit: I appreciate the suggestions. I've pushed an update that tweaks the ghouls. They still hit hard, but have lower defenses and HP. Hopefully this makes the fight easier but still intense.
@ramsay38: You probably missed your chance to destroy the Sleaze program during the base invasion mission, either because you didn't bring a decker or didn't jack in to the terminal. It isn't a big loss, you miss out on 2 karma and a tiny amount of supplies. A few people have been confused by this, so I think I'll probably make another update that silently fails the mission if you can't complete it.
@urthmagi: Yup, @Dswrd is correct. There should be a waypoint where you need to shoot the wall .
On a side note...
After you have finished the beta will you be releasing the trilogy as a single downloadable one with all the dragonfall expansion mechanics (such as extra shaman idols) for the previous 2 chapters?
I hope that you will release more champaigns soon!!
I don't know, it's certainly an interesting fight and other than the unexpected nature of the difficulty spike possibly not in need of much tuning. Perhaps gating the mission off finishing some of the earlier ones?
Oh, and regarding the PU: you probably missed your chance to defeat the Sleaze program during the mission where you retook your Redding base, either because you didn't have a decker or you didn't jack into the terminal. This isn't a big loss, you basically miss out on 2 karma and a tiny amount of supplies.
Anyways, congrats on clearing the mission, and thanks again for checking in!
Possible bug: I couldn't proceed on the People's University mission after accepting it. I had the contact list & I completed all other missions before contacting them. Was there something I was supposed to grab and missed on an earlier mission?
Also like @EiИ I found Colma was a huge difficulty spike. Dorbi, a rifle samurai, and me with a weird but effective build (almost pure conjurer + heal, used import to get the necessary bits). The ghouls were a nightmare, hitting them was nearly impossible at point blank (other mission I was getting 90%-ish out to long range, their hit rate was really high even with huge dodge, and infection made healing mostly useless. I eventually had to restart and bring Dorbi plus another AOE mage which felt like cheating a bit, especially since it ROFLStomped the cryps.
Good location setups, long missions, and extra objectives. One level is genuinely scary. It incorporates some decent puzzles, giving purpose to investigating whole areas for clues. The "bosses" are challenging without being a cake-walk. The missions variation is important, as some missions introduce support for the cause, while others introduce new potential party members; depending on the order completed, a resource might not be available when it would have been handy. Finally, the game makes great use of some of the game mechanics as visual effects, which adds a real dose of wonder to the storyline.
This goes into my top 3 UCGs for SRR, hands down. Thanks very much to the developer, and good luck with any future expansions.
Dorbi, and Norman
Everything but heading up to San Fran
Normal
The reason it's rubbing me the wrong way is that until now, including the graveyard portion of this same mission I've been just tearing through everything. Now I suddenly can't hit anything and everything has buckets of health. I have tons of healing, but it's set up so that I'm almost immediately smacked to death in a single round.
* What archetype is your PC?
* Who is in your party?
* What other missions did you do before the crypt?
* What difficulty setting are you playing on?
Thanks!
It's really breaking my will to want to keep playing this, and that kills me. Because up until this point it was absolutely fantastic.
I'm working on an update that should go out later this weekend that will include a few tweaks to that mission, mostly adding more healing, so your team should be in better condition by the time you face him. I'm not currently planning on dropping his HP, but I'll take another look at it and see how it plays now. Thanks for checking in!
@Draftar - Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad that you enjoyed playing this!
