I can't say for sure, it's been a while, but I think every now and then the sub, somehow, doesn't drain ALL the water around, so you end up with very small % around that add up. I am positive that if you load up the sub in the editor and move it'll run fine - if not, something has changed with some update I'd say. If you wanna test this, try opening all the hatches, there's a good chance some water will be drained down.

Yeah, that works great for going down, but up is my problem. Shuttle airlock is closed, no other rooms damaged, just the regular airlock open and it's barely staying level. Even with everything sealed, ascent velocity is slow compared to descent velocity - I gotta put the throttle a little above the sub to keep it level

It has a few big rooms, but if the airlock alone is flooded it should be fine. Remember to check the Emergency Cargo Ballast option, it floods cargo to give a bigger ballast.

Am I doing something wrong, or does this sub sink very easily? Like if the airlock is open, it won't go up

I actually think I know of a fix for the Sapphire getting stuck in the game, with it being caused (I think) by Transferring items while switching. Forcing the docking hatches for both the shuttles and the ship to have a forced docking direction fixed it for the Die Konnigan so its liable to fix the Sapphire's issue too. Additionally, the bots seem to get stuck in the sapphire a bit if its possible to fix that. They seem to get stuck holding the ladder/loitering next to it.

After disabling them it's all back to normal, so yeah you get them again.

Thank you very much, also do you still get achievements after disabling cheats or no?
ArchCrusader  [author] Mar 28, 2023 @ 2:07pm
That's a bug with the game that happens if you purchase AND switch. You can fix it enabling the console: go to the shuttle, undock it and teleport the main sub above it (you may need to teleport your own character to the shuttle first). You can then dock (to save) and restart (to disable cheats again).

The shuttle glitches into the main sub when starting a new mission and it causes us to sink

With you on that. Sounds good, thanks!

@Luckspeare ☭ I tend to avoid resizing/overlapping things when I can, but that does look pretty nice and the tall reactor can probably have its junction boxes and relative lockers fit in within the room with some tinkering.

I'll leave the current one as is (just a bit of a "vision" thing, like you mentioned), but do feel free to update your design (and even share it) as you see fit (all I ask is to be properly credited)!

Only disadvantage I see to the berthing/bunk area is that, on occasion, someone might try to grab the fire extinguisher and misclick, instead sending his guy to bed. But that would also be just par for the course, too. Fire! I'm going to bed!

Okay, I published it here. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2685414859

Main item I'm indicating here is the berthing area placed on the second deck underneath the central stair. But also, to the left I put in a mockup of an alternative arrangement for the reactor. It's blocking the four supply boxes, but a shrunken version of the large, tall reactor actually kinda fits the footprint well. Either way, feel free to ignore if it doesn't match your vision! It works either way.

@Luckspeare ☭ Hey, thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the reactor is a bit exposed, but it's part of the design (just like the "unorthodox armament") to make things a little more interesting (...I may also have been running out of space, too).
I would love to put bunks/crew quarters, but as you noticed, space is at a premium. Just imagine them being on the side of the sub we can't see (because we see through it :D).

As for the berthing area, feel free to share! If anything, I'm curious how it looks :)

And the nag in my mind. The location of the reactor -- I see why you did it, and space is at a real premium here, but that naggy little OC part of my mind so wants it to be where the oxygen generator is. Both for defensibility (I don't like reactor to be at the walls where early attacks can get it, and this one is partly in that wall) and for the more traditional reason of engineering/power generally being lower and aft. Be a bit of reconfiguration to do it, though, I realize. And I haven't actually played it yet to see how much that really is a problem, practically speaking, it actually is. Just a little nag.

II actually added a little berthing area for my own usage, placing it at the mid-deck central stairwell, using the method used in the Iona sub. Not presumptious enough to to assume you'd be interested in it, but if you'd like to see it, I can share the design with the change. Seems to work decently enough and look good, while having very little visual footprint.

Really nice! Sleek, clean design, packs in a lot of functionality, and a nice shuttle on top of it. Nice, clean wiring, cool diving/airlock area. Great junction/batteries room. Good for campaigns, reasonable (if a bit unorthodox for this size sub) armament. I like it.

One thing kind of nags me in the back of my mind, and one thing makes me cry.

I'll start with the crying. May be just me, but where are the bunks? It always feels off to have a sub with no bunks. Where do the peeps sleep?
