Whether it’s in a server pack or stand alone, it’s still an extra mod.
If you have 5 apples and I have 5 apple, placing my 5 apples in your basket still means there are 10 apples. Zero reasons to repack a mod into a server pack. Though I don’t need to update this mod, if I ever did, your server pack would be out of date, and you’d force your subs to redownload your entire server pack. Just for a small change. Tons of cons to repacking zero pros. Long story short, no repacks. thanks for using the mod.

@Zedmag Hey man is this still good to use and please may we repack with all credits and original links to this page. i tested its working but would really like to include it in my server building pack rather then load a additional mod for just lighting, if that would be okay sir i dont mind buying a coffee :)

I’m not sure. I don’t use vpp tools. When the pole is spawned in, the lamp is attached to the pole as a child.

Why lamps don`t give light when placed with VPP tools? Only when I spawn it as item. When I do that, light is on, but I can`t move it around

DayZ editor is a ‘convenience’
You can spawn them like any other custom building with old school methods.

when i spawn the lamp in with VPP admin tools object builder it shows something spawned on the list on the right but i dont see it or the blue box anywhere.

When the server restarts, they will disappear. They cannot be found in the building using vpp, but in the item

Repack also forces players to download content they may already have forces the server manager to repack after every mod update, prevents players from finding servers that have repacked mods In them. there is absolutely ZERO pros to repacking. And the only time a someone wants to repack is to change the mod, claim as their own or hide the fact they have a mod installed. No one will ever convince me to allow repacks. Hope that clears it up for anyone wondering. Thanks for you understanding and aupprt. Stay Safe out there.

In reality, the repacking should serve to "avoid" the continuous and "forced" updates (imposed by Steam or by the B.I.) which are often NOT necessary and are a continuous pain to server managers and players.

Don’t use lamp. Use the poles add the lamps to types

I try to add the zmg_lamps in editor to light up Chernogorsk but when I load the server there's no lamps except for the zmg_Lamp_City1,2,or 3

I have added types, I wanted to add lamps in cities, but they disappeared. Only by the trader Dr. Jones they work;)

No. Read the description. There is absolutely no benefit to repacking anything. It actually forces clients to download content they may already have prior to being on your seever. It keeps you out of the loop for updates. and when something goes wrong on yourself, clients complain to me to fix it.

Don’t need to add to types. If you are adding them to your custom busking spawns they will be fine. BUT with all the reports, it’s possible the latest patch fucked something. I won’t be able to test for another week and a half.

Ok something is wrong or conflicting then. Right now it’s functioning with vanilla. Perhaps another mod is conflicting on the back end some how.

Yes I was testing the lights as player. Also other players don´t see the shine of the lights

How are testing? You can’t fly around with the admin camera. Lights are client based. Only playable clients can see them.

it might THINK its persistent since it is inherited from InventoryItem BUT the CE/DB will NOT save it since the config is flagged with a storageCategory of 10.. NOW if by some RARE chance you enabled category 10 in your economy.xml .(manually imputing the proper line) then it REALLY shouldnt be...

Zedmag, I had placed some of the items, and they were showing in logs as persistent. I was not using the full pole, but just the lamp on some buildings that had light fixtures already.
Object 'zmg_Lamp' is a persistence object, skipping

Wooly, there are NOT persistent.. the lamp is inventory base with 'storageCategory = 10;' which means its NOT stored in DB.. and the poles are inherited from 'HouseNoDestruct' which is also NOT an object that is stored in the data base.... you only need to place pole somehwere.. and the lamp will attach to it automagicly.. i am currently, as i type, working on an update to fix the 2.4m offset on Y bug..

Hi [S.C.] Nice work.. I have a question - None of the street lamps show up in the VPP admin tools 'object builder' but do show up in the 'item spawner'. Any ideas, or is this something I am doing incorrectly?

I need to update to fix. Won’t be for a hot minut. BUT in the mean time, adjust your custom placements to -2.4 on the Y value. This will place them properly whe spawned.

I have a few custom locations I would love to use this mod on. Have you done any test on server load when using these light poles? What kind of FPS drop are you seeing?

The key didn't automatically insert like most do , I fixed it and it works fine even with the other mod in the background , I didn't see your lights down by default though , are there any placed ?

Well? What has happening? that other pole mod with my name on it is actually Pladachis but has a wince been a abanded. I’m actually working on a better version that I will release under my name.
