Think there's an issue with the way you set up patching for the VPE nuclear plant: I'm not using it in my current modlist but it still tries to patch what isn't there...

Hey again, OP. I've always wanted a large solar power array like this one. Do I have permission to make a fork version which removes DBH dependency, and has alt recipes?

The plants require EMM metals to build, if you also switch those recipes with your patch then it'd be able to run without EMM.

Darn. You know, you could actually make it so that it accepts Chemfuel, but if you have the Expanded Material Metal Mod , it requires coal. It's a very simple Patch. It's so simple that I could write it.

That way, everyone can enjoy it.

You're in luck there's no resource bloat, the mod doesn't add coal it only needs Expanded Materials Metals coal.
You're out of luck Expanded Materials Metals is really needed for coal.

2022 update
When I originally made this mod it came as a followup to my desal plant as a thought exercise: "Since the player now has near infinite access to water lets add some thirsty plants."
The existence of the offshore windmill is proof enough I was thinking about seaside colonies above all else.
In the same way my rain collecting mod had me design colonies in the desert where I found these plants absolutely useless. Assuming the player always has access to a river or sea is bad design, it penalises the player for setting up a colony anywhere else.
That changes now. The plants are now almost 10 times cheaper to run, tell me how you find the new changes.

If this would work without expanded metals would be nice maybe using Sythamide from rimfeller? Expanded metals is too overdone

It's balanced against filling the same space with solar panels. The panels would produce more power and don't need water but you'd burn through components to keep them all running. This is a one stop big power generator that works several hours into the night and at 25,0000 is one of the most powerful industrial era generators on the workshop.

Expanded Materials plastics adds that oil but it's also an optional patch which only adds plastic polymer for the offshore turbine if installed. You don't need it either.

I was wrong, the incompatibility comes from the mod for materials-Rimfeller produces the same oil.

After looking at how much work would be needed to optionally make the coal plant use every other coal while turning EMM into a patch, naah. It's too much work and the mod works fine as is. If you guys want to see it patched you have my full support for making your own patch or forking the mod entirely.

This doesn't add another nuclear reactor it patches the nuclear reactor from vanilla expanded power to need water. That last screenshot is to show their nuclear reactor generating 0 power because it isn't receiving water.

The coal plant naturally needs coal and EMM has coal along with concrete and stainless steel these plants will realistically need.
I can see about turning my love for realism into a patch job but that will take time.

Does expanded Material - Metal is a real requirement (it is listed in required item) to run this one or just optional?
